2 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 1998 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 03/17/2016

Went to store, came out battery dead, car wouldn't start. Had not left lights or any accessories on. Got a jump, drove to auto parts store. They checked alternator and battery and said battery dead, needed an overnight charge. Let them charge battery, put back in car, horn started blowing and would not stop despite my using both the key and key fob. Horn blew for 5 hours before I found out how to disconnect from google. Got horn to stop, and car wouldn't start. Ford dealer said anti-theft system had to be reprogrammed at cost of $250 plus tow to dealer. I never armed the system and it should not have shut my truck down and prevented me from driving it. I don't have $250 and then I found out the repair is only $100 at most. But this according to my dealer happens to any Ford anytime the battery goes dead and is replaced, anti-theft system is making people pay $250 to Ford to reprogram what should not have to be reprogrammed. Please help me. Thank you. Cassandra watson-kevianne.

4 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2000 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 08/10/2009

I own a 2000 for Expedition and have had nothing but expensive problems. First the caps on the spark plugs go bad everytime it gets washed or goes through puddles on the road. Then when it rains water seeps into some control box and causes the radio and air to run when the vehicle is turned off and the key removed, it will even go as far as engaging the anti theft so it won't start. I have even lost control of the windshield wipers while driving, the rain drips on my feet and soaks the floor mat even if it just sitting. The latest issue is with an ejected spark plug which fortunately did not start a fire just leaving me stranded twice in one week. I am told there is no good fix for this problem and I am getting estimates as high as $3500. Most say that this vehicle has one design flaw after another and that Ford only gives one excuse after another. So many people seem to have the same exact problems I can't help but to think the fault lies with Ford. So many other things have gone wrong with it to fix them all would be replacing every part, wire, and device on it. I think it's just a lemon designed to create revenue. Surely some must have the power to investigate on behalf of the consumer.

5 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2000 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 12/13/2008

Alarm went off and truck caught a fire; local fire department put fire out.

6 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2001 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 03/15/2007

I have a 2001 Ford Expedition (eddie bauer). The truck is experiencing erratic electronic problems such as dying driving down the road, electric functions turning on and off while vehicle is unattended, security light flashing, mileage indicator has lines through it, radio turing on and off, blower turning on and off, lights acting on their own, etc. The failure to run and dying unexpectedly has caused near death accidents as I pull onto the roadway from a cross street. The vehicle has been taken to Ford and they explained that the problem originated from a leaking windshield which caused the gem module and fuse box to corrode. After fixing the windshield, gem module, and fuse box, the problems persisted. I am concerned that the electrical problems will cause a fire due to the vehicle turning things on and off by itself.
