I am filing this complaint regarding Ford safety recall 25s49 (NHTSA campaign number 25v315). My vehicle is a 2024 Ford Expedition max, VIN [xxx] . The Ford pass app and the Ford recall site both show the remedy for the recall as "available", but when I contact my dealer (maxwell Ford in austin, TX) they say that the repair cannot be performed because the update is not yet active in the oasis dealer system. Ford has had months to release the software fix, but continues to delay the rollout to dealerships. Meanwhile, I have been without my vehicle because the rearview camera is unreliable and considered a safety hazard under the recall. I am paying for a new vehicle that is parked at the dealership and undriveable due to Ford's failure to provide a timely remedy. I have contacted Ford executive relations and their social media team, but have received no response or resolution. I am requesting that NHTSA hold Ford accountable for failing to make this safety recall fix available in a timely and transparent manner. The communication has been misleading to owners, and the delay is causing both financial and practical hardship. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Rear blower motor caught on fire, causing smoke to cover the inside of the vehicle. Part had to then be removed from the car. Melted plastic around the inside of the fan and motor. Also we have replaced the blower motive in the front of the vehicle that was under recall and it has continued to let's burn wires underneath the dash whete it plugs in so I dont believe the blower motor in front was the issue!.
Back up camera goes dark when we back up but it doesn't do it when I had it in the dealership they say I need a new camera but it started when you all put out a recall.
Vehicle was taken to chipola Ford for blower motor recall April 2025 and was replaced under recall. Since then, the blower motor intermittently fails and and no air will come out of the dash. The wiring for the blower motor under the dash gets extremely hot when the blower motor fails.

[xxx], I bought a new Ford Expedition max platinum. Four days after I bought the Ford Expedition max, I experienced brake failure and all warning lights going off on the Ford. I was unable to brake correctly and almost causing a wreck on [xxx] in charlottesville, va. I called the Ford dealership, (myers Ford) in elkton where I bought the Ford and they sent me a message saying there was an open recall that would be coming out but not till q3 due to no fixes as of yet. I told them I didn't trust the car and what was I supposed to do. They sent me a text with a fix and said Ford told them it would be safe to drive. I had to follow the instructions on the message from Ford and the car was back up and running. [xxx], my family and I were returning from nc and there was a wreck that ensued in front of us and with about 60 feet of room, we tried to brake and the brakes failed on us and we rear ended the truck ahead and we totaled are new Expedition max. I have tried to reach out to Ford and make a complaint but they keep hanging up on us and rejecting our phone calls. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. Camera goes blank when backing up.
The front ac stopped blowing and it got excessively warm in the cab. I thought it may be the blower motor and wanted to start with fuses. Under the hood was so hot that when I tried to pull our a fuse my nails melted. Since then, sometimes it blows sometimes it doesn't but it does seem to be emanating excess heat. I'm unsure of true date of occurrence as I just purchased the vehicle on.
6/10/25- car turned off in the middle of the road 6/12/25- car would not start 7/6/25- car would not start 6/16/25 and 7/12/25 car apparently had warning in the Ford system of a malfunction.

There was a recall for cam phasers etc under 21n03. My car was fixed in 2021 but the parts they put it in were not the updated parts. I was told it was the same recalled parts that they used to replace. Now I am having the same issue again . I am not currently driving my vehicle until it can be remedied. I contacted the dealership and they are not willing to cooperate or work with me. I will attach the report that was done back in 2021 below.

Wiring has soy based bioplastic insulation which apparently attract rodent damage. This damaged battery, caused spark plug to be damaged and need to be replaced. It has also caused voltage and computer performance problems affecting engine idling and shifting. Issues were extremely unpredictable and hard to diagnose leading to 5 visits to the shop and many failed attempts to repair.

I own a 2018 Ford Expedition, and the factory-installed backup camera has progressively failed. Initially, the camera display was intermittent—sometimes showing the rear view and other times freezing or going black. The issue has now worsened to the point that the camera no longer turns on at all when the vehicle is placed in reverse. This failure presents a significant safety hazard, as the rearview camera is critical for detecting pedestrians, obstacles, and other vehicles—especially in a large SUV with limited rear visibility. The loss of this feature increases the risk of an accident while reversing. Additionally, this defect renders the vehicle non-compliant with federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) no. 111, which requires all vehicles manufactured after may 2018 to have a functioning rear visibility system. Because the Expedition was sold with this federally mandated safety equipment, the complete failure of the camera should be considered a safety defect. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue, as it appears to be a widespread problem among Ford vehicles of this model year, and urge Ford to provide a corrective action or repair.
Back up camera glitches and it keeps beeping.
Ac blower stopped functioning.
The backup camera. It shows that blue or in and out quickly causing it not to work most of the time. The 2015 has a recall for this exact thing but not 2016.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that when the a/c was activated, there was condensation pooling on the passenger’s side fuse box, causing the transmission to not be able to shift out of park(p). The contact stated that he was able to start the vehicle. The contact stated that numerous warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact was unable to turn off the headlights. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that condensation had damaged the fuse box and caused the body control module to fail. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to technical service bulletin: 20-2170 water leaking on right front floor after a/c use (electrical system). The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.

2024 front a/c blower cutting in and out without warning. Called dealership and had Fords recall #22s56, item affected: electrical system, wiring, interior/ under dash. This involved the front a/c blower failing. Only thing replaced during mobile visit then was the blower motor. Now March 2025 had the same issue again with front a/c blower cutting off/on without warning. Called same dealership again and was told I had to bring the vehicle in to have diagnostic check to further check the recall issue. After diagnostic completed, was informed that the blower motor resistor and the connector were melted. Had the repairs completed same day at $802. 74.
Took vehicle in for recall work of replacing the hvac front blower motor assembly. Vehicle was returned and blower motor stopped working 3 days later. Now being told that the fan blower motor controller and connector have to be replaced becasue they have gone bad and that it is not covered under the current recall. There should be no reason that those parts aren't covered under the recall. If the blower motor hadn't overheated, then the controller and conector should not have been damaged. A quick google search over complaints for this same issue lets me know that other people have had the exact same issue. Ford said to file the complaint with you.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. Roadside assistance was contacted. The technician connected the battery cables and jumpstarted the vehicle. The vehicle was started, and the vehicle was driven to the residence. The contact later replaced the battery. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with parasitic battery drain due to a failed gear shifter. The contact was informed that the gear shifter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The contact was informed that parts had been ordered for the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
The vehicle was sitting at idle in the driveway when a loud boom was heard followed by loud crackling noises coming from what sounded like, everywhere. I turned off the radio and the noise continues. I turned off the vehicle and exited and the noise continued for about one minute before stopping. It has not happened again and I will take it to the dealership to get checked. Had this happened while driving at highway speeds it could have caused a reaction resulting in a horrific crash.
While reversing the camera went black. And since then the back up camera does not come back on. It says “camera not available”.
Rear backup camera works periodically, there is a recall on the 2015 Expedition for this problem, but I’m being told my vehicle (VIN) is not included. The repair cost is over $1000. Why ins’t my Expedition included in the recall - I’m having the exact problem as documented in the recall. How many others are being affected by this problem but being excluded in the recall. Please investigate, this problem seems to be larger then the current recall.

The audio system has become inoperable and instead the speakers are blasting static noise with crackling and popping sounds at high volume. Cannot stop it or use any other audio. Very unsafe to drive due to extreme noise level and lack of controls. Appears many people have this issue and there needs to be a recall to fix.

This recall was issued in January 2025, we are rolling in to month 4 here, this vehicle is used for business and cant drive it while it has an open recall per insurance, we have lost out on almost 4 months of income on this vehicle along with loan payment of 4 months, I feel like Ford has not taken this serious and is taking their time considering its a little older model SUV. Not sure if there is some type of compensation for this from Ford on the delay of this fix. Also, we have had no issues with our rear camera on this vehicle; everything works fine.
The rear camera started to work intermittently, when taken to the dealer it was not on the recall list, when I believe it should have been. Dealer could not identify which of (4) possible cameras where in the vehicle by the VIN, stating he had to disassemble the car to visually identify which camera it was. Why wasn't this VIN included in the recall when Ford can't even identify which camera was in the vehicle when manufactured. Looking forward to your response.
