1 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 07/26/2022

Steering loss on highway two times but came back and a squealing noise when trying to park some times found out there isn't a power steering pump so don't know where the squealing noise is coming from but it is in the steering had the Ford dealer check it out and they said it needs replaced.

2 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2020

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that while driving at 35-40 mph, the vehicle started to jerk back and forth while making turns in either direction. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. After test driving the vehicle, the mechanic informed the contact that the power steering pump needed to be replaced. A dealer was not notified of the failure. The contact referenced the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 14v286000 (steering) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 96,000.

3 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2019

Received a message on my dashboard " power assist fault", the steering was stiff and could not turn. Turn off the car for 10 minutes and the steering was functioning ok. Later in the afternoon, I was about to hit the gas pump as my steering went stiff again. Now am scared that this may cause accident.
