36 Body problem of the 2016 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 04/09/2025

Around April 9, 2025 I took my vehicle to the dealership (crossroads Ford prince george, va) for a NHTSA recall 25v031. As of today (7/10/25) the repair is not completed. Dealership claim that the parts still on order due to shortage. This seams to be a long time for Ford company to provide the parts to replace the a-pillar trim.

38 Body problem of the 2013 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 04/03/2025

The passenger side door trim that goes alongside the window broke off while driving down the highway. This is a safety hazard for other drivers. The a pillar trim did the same thing a few months ago which is under recall. Not sure why this trim would not also be under recall.

40 Body problem of the 2018 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 04/01/2025

We have been trying to get safety recall notice 24s02/NHTSA recall 24v031 accomplished by our Ford dealership for several months and they say that the parts required are on back order from Ford. My complaint with Ford motor company is not having the parts needed for the dealerships to comply with the recall. Currently, the parts are on an emergency order from the dealership. The part on the right side a pillar is vibrating at highway speed and I am expecting a failure.

41 Body problem of the 2018 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 03/31/2025

The a-piller trim molding flew off while I was driving down the road. I am aware that this part was previously recalled and potentially “fixed” before I purchased the vehicle, however it flew off and was a terrible safety hazard.

43 Body problem of the 2017 Ford Explorer

Driving down the highway and my a pillar trim detached from my driver side frame. Also ripped off my leather stripping to my windshield ( I was told in November they would try and get this fixed before this happened it is now the end of March. ) this recall was in January 24 of 2024.

44 Body problem of the 2016 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 03/20/2025

Right side a pillar came off vehicle at highway speed 18 months ago. I bought replacement part I heard of recall so I returned part for refund. Ford claims to be working with suppliers to obtain repair parts. This has gone on way too long, they are not taking this seriously! I am a retired millwright and have worked in all types of factories my whole career including many car plants. I know what it takes to manufacture these parts. Ford is simply not trying! the recall for this is 24so2(Ford), and 24v031(NHTSA). Please do your best to motivate them to remedy this issue! thank you.

45 Body problem of the 2013 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 03/06/2025

Bought the car 07/03/23 from private party and its been leaking water since. Found the cracks 02/28/25. Body is cracking on top rear roof of vehicle close to the rear hatch hinges on driver and passenger side which causes water to come inside the rear interior part of the vehicle. 3rd row seatbelts are soaking wet when it rains. Water also leaks in the trunk and spare tire space. Originally, thought it was from clogged sunroof drains, but found the cracks after further investigation. Pictures have been attached.

46 Body problem of the 2017 Ford Explorer

Water leaking from ceiling.

48 Body problem of the 2013 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 03/01/2025

Ford issued a recall notice in Feb 2024 concerning the exterior a-pillar applique trim clip. This large piece of hard plastic separated from my windshield on an interstate while the vehicle was driving at a high rate of speed and the loose trim was a hazard to the vehicles behind me. It is unacceptable that I cannot have this replaced and the other side repaired more than one year after the recall. This is a safety issue to other vehicles on the road.

49 Body problem of the 2017 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 02/28/2025

Ford motor company and my car dealership have failed to perform the necessary repairs to my vehicle related to a safety recall for the a-pillar trim pieces. I have tried several times to have this fixed and each time the dealership stops communication and says they are unable to get the necessary parts from Ford.

50 Body problem of the 2013 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 02/24/2025

The exterior a-pillar trim part detached and hit another vehicle on the freeway. The dealership replaced the part and I paid for it. I received a recall notice January 2024 stating that Ford would replace the defect and or reimburse me for the previous replacement. In February 2025 the driver side a-pillar trim part detached while driving on the freeway. When I contacted my dealership at kearny pearson Ford they told me that they still did not have the parts as described in the safety recall notice 24s02 / NHTSA recall 24v031. I am driving around with an open side along the windshield/body of my car and it does not feel safe.

51 Body problem of the 2017 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 02/21/2025

Side trim with door unlock pad on it detached and blew of into the wind and almost flew into a vehicle behind me when I was traveling down the interstate at about 70 mph, the posted speed limit. Luckily it did not strike the driver behind me but it was to close for comfort. They are put on the same way practically as the a trim that there already is a recall on.

52 Body problem of the 2018 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 02/20/2025

The a pillar trim has become loose and detached while I was driving, almost causing an accident. There has been a recall on this part. I have tried on numerous occasions to resolve the issue. It has been over a year and the parts are still not available. I have tried to remedy and made multiple appointments at the service center to get my vehicle inspected and they tell me the same thing that there is nothing they can do.

53 Body problem of the 2013 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 02/18/2025

The a-pillar trim pieces on both sides of the windshield began coming apart while driving on the highway, luckily, a piece did not impact other vehicles behind me. I went to the dealer and they removed both trim pieces several months ago and they have not followed up to install the new parts. They say they are not available. The first notification I received from Ford by mail is dated February 2024 (more than 1. 5 years ago). The vehicle looks like crap and Ford is not fulfilling their obligation. Perhaps NHTSA can exert enough pressure to force them to accomplish the repairs. Are they waiting for someone to get hurt or die from flying trim debris before they act? Ford can and has to make the parts and make them available to address their flawed product. Thank you.

54 Body problem of the 2016 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 02/14/2025

A-pillar trim detached.

55 Body problem of the 2016 Ford Explorer

56 Body problem of the 2019 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 02/04/2025

In February I was driving to an appt. When the side panel on driver's door broke & started flying around & hitting car. (it has the numbers to enter the car without a key. ) so I had to roll down window 1/2 way, grab the broken part & drive 18 miles to town, holding the part so it wouldn't fly off (in 30 degree weather!) so I drove by the Ford dealership where I got my car. They thought there was a recall on that item so I've been waiting. I just saw on the NHTSA site there was a recall for that item on 2016-17? Explorers, but mine is 2019!!! would you please add the 2019 model to that recall? also, I'm still waiting (1 1/2 years later) for the recalled trim pieces around the front windshield.

57 Body problem of the 2013 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 01/25/2025

Driving 65 mph. 4 passengers. Pillar trim came off and slammed into window. Caused us to veer into another lane almost hitting another vehicle. Passenger side did this in 2023. My husband had to order part and fix it. Right after fix, a recall was issued. Called 5 times in 2024 for recall fix. Was told parts not available. While going to fort lauderdale cruise port January 25, 2025, the driver’s side came off almost causing a crash collision that would have killed us all. Cannot get any shop to fix and was told to keep driving the vehicle. The rubber/part hanging from Explorer.

60 Body problem of the 2023 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 01/13/2025

Around 20,000 miles, I took my vehicle to the dealer due to rattling and knocking in the front right wheel well and it was discovered the stabilizer arm was cracked. Received the vehicle back, and approximately 1000 miles later, there is rattling at the front driver and passenger wheel well and squeaking going down the road. The sounds coming from vehicle are that of a 40-year-old vehicle.

Failure Date: 01/05/2025

Referencing recall 24v031: a and b pillar trim clips fail and cause cover to fly off while driving. * puts driver and others at risk by part releasing from clips and flying off while driving. * I just lost my 4th one and have been waiting for parts at corning Ford (530-824-5434) to fix this issue since August of 2024 when we originally took the vehicle in for repair. * after viewing my other cover, it is also near detaching and flying off without warning. * I feel the lack of attention and available parts for this recall is causing unnecessary risk to drivers and others on the road. Please take action in that Ford motor company completes this recall and fixes our vehicle.

67 Body problem of the 2018 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 12/31/2024

While traveling on [xxx] eastbound in the st. Louis, mo area I heard a pop and noticed my passenger side a-frame trim body piece was free from the top mooring point. This caused me to have to exit the freeway earlier than expected. Fortunately, the trim piece did not come completely dislodged and cause further danger on the freeway. I still need to drive this vehicle with a trim piece that is only partially connected to the vehicle. This is related to an unresolved recall and could cause further safety concerns on an ongoing recall. Please help me contact Ford to ensure a quick resolution to this recall that is supposed to be resolved "late 2024". Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

68 Body problem of the 2016 Ford Explorer

The recall has been in place for replacing an exterior a-pillar trim part - we have tried to get it replaced, but there are no parts nationally. Why haven't the parts been created? it has been over a year.

69 Body problem of the 2011 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 12/29/2024

In the 2021 Ford Explorer there are multiple leaks due to rain / water damage. The back of the trunk has a leak that has water running down the side into the third row seat it causes rust on to the spare tire, it’s causes fog to be on the inside of the car causing issues to see. There is also leaking in the front of the car that comes out through the light unit above all electric panel. This leaking is causing the ceiling lights to have issues, drips into the dashboard with all the electrical items causing the unit to short, which is where the rear camera display occurs.
