I own a 2004 F-150. When the brake pedal is depressed it travels nearly to the floor on the first "pump. " the problem is remedied by pumping the brake once or twice to regain a solid pedal feel. This problem has been addressed to my dealer and to numerous brake shops to no avail. I have replaced all the major components of my brake system and the problem persists to this day.

: the contact stated while the brake pedal is depressed it goes past the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. The master cylinder was replaced in an attempt to correct the problem. However the problem still persists. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and the contact was then told this is the way the vehicle was manufactured.

The brakes have been a problem since I purchased the vehicle. The wheel shimmy's when I apply the brakes and it gets progressively worse. I have to take it into the shop again to have it looked at - the first time they ground the rotors - now I will want them to replace the pads and brake rotors. It is very scary to drive around a corner when you must apply the brakes.
Front brakes pulsate. Severe pulsation when applying brakes at freeway speeds. Front end shakes violently. First repair (rotor replacement) at 10578 miles. Second repair (rotor replacement) at 16141 miles. Third repair (machine rotors) 21260 miles.
2004 F-150 super crew - taken back to dealer starting approximately 3 months from purchase for severe squealing and pulsating, it's going back for the 6th time next week. The rotors and brakes were replaced twice and some kind of spray (yeah right) and still not fixed. Now severe shaking at any speeds very intermittent, and always pulsates like warped rotors including squealing all the time. Oh yeah the rear end clutch packs were also replaced three weeks after purchase.
Vibration in steering wheel. Replaced front/rear rotors, rack and pinion, steering gear and balanced all tires. Steering vibration at hwy speeds. Steering shakes when braking.
While applying the brakes are warped and the brake pressure is low.

On 14jun01 my truck had 20709 miles on it. Charapp Ford replaced the front brake pads and turned the rotors in order to pass the state inspection. This can be verified through invoice#20709. On 17jul02 my truck was inspected at murray's Ford in dubois, PA with no problems, mileage 29978, invoice # c09529. On 19sep02 I had murray's check a rubbing sound from my front brakes. They found the brake pad was missing from the front right brakes resulting in metal to metal contact. This required new brake pads and new rotors. My truck had 31378 miles, invoice # c12269. I do not believe the brakes should have to be replaced with this low mileage considering I do not overload my truck nor do I tow at all. I believe there is a flaw in the design of the brakes, brake pads, or poor workmanship.

I started haveing warped brakes around 13,000 miles this truck went through 4 brake jobs I asked the last time to speak with a field representative, but was denied. In less then 500 miles after last break job I complined to the dealer that something was loose they said that they could not find anything wrong I was pulling my boat home from storage driving aroun 55 miles an hour I applied the brake to slow down for railroad tracks and the left front tire locked up pulling the truck across the oncomming lane then into the oncomming lanes ditch where the truck stoped 6" from a telephone pole. I called the owner of the dealership and asked for a Ford field engineer to examine my truck. He said he would get back with me but has not I have called Ford customer hotline for help and they said I can not take it to another dealer and they can't get a field engineer to look at it and they have made no atempt to fix my truck . It know sits in my driveway witht the left front wheel locked up and metal shavings all over the left front rhim. Ford has made no atempt to fix ak.

Consumer stated the front brakes and rotors were replaced, also the rear frame horns were repaired.
The original rear sliding glass window leaked and was replaced under warranty (less than 36000 mi. ). The replacement window eventually leaked too, so it was defective also. The front brake pads wore out and scored the rotors. The repair shop indicated that they could not turn/repair the rotors because they were under specification. Further investigation indicated that the replacement rotors for this vehicle have a different thickness specification. The original rotors are either not the correct thickness or have an incorrect specification. The brakes have never seemed to perform properly. Brakes must be applied very hard and even then the vehicle does not stop very quickly.
