Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph, he began to notice that his brakes were hardening, making it difficult to come to a complete stop. As this failure occurred, the service brake warning light illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to an independent mechanic who informed him to take the vehicle to a dealership. The contact then called his local dealership (franklin Ford 175 east central street, franklin, MA 02038 (508) 570-4022) where he was informed that the vehicle has not been placed under recall and to notify the manufacturer. The contact notified the manufacturer who then referred him to the national highway traffic safety administration. The vehicle has not been repaired, the failure mileage was 86,000.

On vacation and out of town. . . Was driving my Ford truck and "low brake fluid light" appeared. Pulled immediately into first parking lot walmart store. Checked fluid and found reservoir was low. Went into walmart to purchases break fluid. None available. Pushed on brake to start truck and break went to floor. Called aaa and tow truck took my truck to university auto repair. Diagnosis was master cylinder malfunction all all break fluid backed into brake booster assembly cuasing breaks to fail. My major concern was I just pulled amtrialer from phx,az to flagstaff,az on interstate rt I-17. Note: this streach of road over 100 miles is mountainess with 6% grades. It horrifies me to think if I would have lost brakes going up and down this interstate from and to home. It could have been a horrific fatility given the fact that from the time the low brake fluid light came on and mintues later I lost my breaks. Even after having my truck brakes repaired, I was very nervous dring down the I-17 interstate back to my home in phoenix. I should not have to have fear of breaks failing. Researching,I have found master cylinder and break booster assembly failed on previous years fod f 150 models. 2014 model being the most recent.

Brake warning lights come on with low fluid warning; lost braking when pedal went to floor shortly thereafter when I was on expressway. I avoided accident barely. I keep adding fluid, but no sign of leaking that I can see, but getting white smoke from exhaust . Very dangerous!.

After 71k miles, the brake master cylinder needs replaced due to brake fluid internal leaking to the brake boosters. Lost all control of braking power. $1100 repair to replace master cylinder and brake boosters. This happened on 7/6/2019 while driving home. The low brake fluid light came on while driving and noticed substantial loss in braking power and had to push brake pedal all the way down to slow the truck to a stop at stop sign.

I was driving down the road and the low brake fluid light came on. Then as I tried to slow down I had no brakes. Managed to coast over to side of road and come to a stop. Had it towed to Ford dealership. They said master cylinder was leaking into brake booster. Had to replace brake master cylinder and bleed system.

While my wife was driving the vehicle with my two children in the in it, the brake fluid light came on. Almost immediately after the brakes began to fail. The pedal began to have less resistance and would barely stop. Thankfully this occurred as she was arriving to our house. I checked it myself as soon as I could the next morning and there was absolutely no resistance on the pedal as it would just go all the way to the floor. Had this happened as we were driving a longer distance, it could have ended very badly as there were no early warning signs to my fluid level being low. I added fluid and test drove it around the block. It seemed to work normally again. However, as I got into the truck the next morning, I experienced the same issue.

Recently, while driving down the highway, both the abs light and brake light came illuminated on the instrument panel of my truck. The message center displayed a reading of check brake system. The brakes began to have a pulsation to them and the truck just did not want to come to a complete stop. I took my truck to a mechanical shop where they charged me to diagnose the problem causing these symptoms. Their findings with the diagnostic checks revealed a failed abs module. No repairs have been made. The truck has been parked in our driveway.

This afternoon I left work to drive half a mile to my son's daycare when the low brake fluid light came on. Once parked at daycare I checked all lines, wheels, and under the hood and had no indication of any leaks. I went inside to get my son and came back out and as I started to drive away I found my brake pedal would go to the floor with zero pressure and the brakes were totally failed. I had a friend bring me a large bottle of brake fluid and I refilled the reservoir. I did a short test drive around the daycare and that was enough to lower the fluid level. I live 3. 1 miles away from the daycare so decided to carefully drive home. I had to stop 3 times to refill the reservoir when the low fluid light came on before the brakes failed completely, again. I went through 4 bottles of brake fluid in 3 miles, still with no indication of any leaks. I feel very fortunate that this didn't happen to me while driving at greater speeds and/or on a busy road. I now have to deal with missed work and trying to get my truck to a dealership and repaired, while being a single parent of a toddler.

I was parked at a retail store when the check brake fluid light cmae on. I check the fluid and it was almost empty. The brake pedal was going all the way to the floor. I purchase fluid and replaced it and drove home about two miles away. By the time I got home the light came on agin and the pedal was going to the floor with very little brakes. I called my mechanic (who works for Ford) and he said to check because he thought there might be a recall on the brakes. There is not one but there are a large number of complaints on the issue. It is so bad the master cylinder is on back order with no timeframe given on when it will come in. I also cannot get an after market part from someone else due to backorders. It is obvious there is a mass problem that Ford is ignoring a safety issue.

Vehicle has 63,000 miles and today the warning low brake fluid light came on while driving home. At that point the brakes we functioning normally. There was a auto parts store a few miles from my location so I diverted to the store. I thought I was either topping off fluid or would find a broken line when I arrived. At the turn into the parking lot the brake pedal went all the way to the floor nearly no braking power only going 5 miles an hour or less. At the store I inspected the vehicle and found no leaks. The reservoir was very low. I replace the fluid to the correct level and continued home. Within 5 miles the light came on again. I proceeded 2 more miles home to inspect the vehicle. I found the reservoir low again, I thoroughly inspected for leaks and found nothing on the outside of the cylinder or any lines. The I began to research the problem. I will now contact the dealer to arrange for repairs. I am suspect that something internally to the cylinder is leaking. Where else would 10oz of fluid go? if anyone from Ford is reading this (national safety manager. . . ) it's not just the goods or services you provide that matters. Integrity counts, and the long-term success of your business depends on it. I teach my children that lying, cheating and stealing are unacceptable. I expect integrity in my employees, it matters. Time to step up before something deadly happens.

Driving on expressway brake fluid light went on when I got off on the exit ramp I went to hit the brakes and the brake peddle went to the floor and I didn't have any brakes. Took the car to my local Ford dealer, and due to the miles, they gave me the impression my vehicle was not covered by the NHTSA recall and that they would have to get authorization to fix the vehicle, otherwise I'd have to pay for it. (never knew recalls were subject to mileage).

Driving about 30mph when low brake fluid light came on dashboard. When I pulled over brake pedal went to the floor and I lost all my brakes had to have brake master cylinder and vacuum pump replaced also brake fluid got into the fuel system and contaminated that.

Driving down the highway, trying to change lane to exit the road, press on my brakes to slow down, then my brakes light came on, saying iam low on brake fluid, and my breaks dont work, the pedal went al the way down to the flood. Put on my hazards light on, and let the truck slow down to an exit, very slow to stop while driving. Found out there a recall on my truck, call Ford #, they tell me that the truck had been service before in 2016, and there only one recall fix per vehicle. So iam out luck, the brake booster and master cylinder have to be replaced again. . At my own expense. . .

Master cylinder leaking into brake booster. Only warning is low brake fluid light. Known issue on 13, 14 ecoboost models. Just driving down the interstate and low brake fluid level warning came on . Pulled over and put more fluid in master cylinder. By the time we got to the end of parking lot needed fluid again. Took to Ford dealer where they said needed new master cylinder and brake booster replaced. Parts and labor over $900. This should not be a normal failure for a truck that has less than 62000 miles on it. Thankfully we did not have a more catastrophic situation.

I got up started mt truck drove to work as normal. Got into my truck after work started it and the brake light was on and the truck was digging multiple times. The brake pedal when pressed went all the way to the floor. I got out popped the hood and looked theres fluid in the brake reservoir. I looked on the ground and on the motor for leakage and theres nothing anywhere.

I have seen that there is a recall for 2013-2014 f150s that are having the same issue. I can assure you that this problem is affecting the 2015s also. There was no warning other than the light coming on and I immediately lost almost complete braking power to the vehicle. This is a serious concern and a frightening one as it happens with children inside the vehicle.

A advance track and brake service light came on. After a dealership inspection I was informed the pressure transducer is showing over 200 psi when no brake is applied. Dealership says it needs a new hcu. 1500$ cost for a hcu this is unsat a person should not have to worry about brakes going out overnight like I was informed could happen. This should be fixed with a recall.

I experienced a total failure of the brakes system. The brake light was not on and only came on later. The oil reservoir was totally empty and a even with a quart of oil added the reservoir is still empty with no visible leak. I was lucky to be able to stop the truck in a snow bank and no damage occur. I contacted Ford and was told that my truck was not on the recall list but according to the recall (2013-2014 F-150 3. 5liters) I ask why but got no answer.

Driving down a hill with my family in the truck on a divided highway going approximately 50 mph. I went to apply the brakes for an upcoming stop light and the pedal went almost completely to the floor. At the same time a "brake fluid level low" alarm light turned on in my dash along with the parking brake engaged symbol. I had to quickly shift my transmission to manual and down shift the transmission from 6th gear all the way down to first gear to be able to safely pull off to the side of the road. When I checked, the brake fluid reservoir was below the minimum (min) level indicator. I later filled the reservoir to the max line and tested the brakes. The "brake fluid low level" warning light and the parking brake applied light went away and everything seemed normal. I tested the brakes and they seemed to be working. I then tested the vehicle out in a safe area and within minutes the brakes failed again and the lights came back on. At this time I parked the vehicle and referred to the factory repair manual to diagnose the problem. There were no visible leaks from any of the brake components including the calipers, brake lines or master cylinder. The manual recommended checking to see if any brake fluid was in the brake booster. The brake booster was nearly half full of brake fluid. At this point I replaced the master cylinder and brake booster as recommended by the factory manual. This is a know issue with 2013-2016 Ford F-150's and there has been a factory recall on the 2013-2014 F-150's (16v345000). I feel that if I had not put the vehicle in manual and downshifted I would not been able to stop and could have caused an accident at the intersection. Even after the repair of the brake system I do not feel comfortable driving this vehicle.

The contact stated that the front brakes are not engaging. The contact stated that occasionally the check brake system light will illuminate. The same failure had occurred multiple times intermittently. The manufacturer was also contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 83,838. Am.

Driving at 65 mph on the highway went to stop for traffic and brake pedal went to the floor. Warning light appeared and said brake fluid was low, brake light on dash board came on. Added brake fluid and within 10 miles the same thing happen again. Had to have the vechicle towed.

Tl the contact owns a 2009 Ford F-150. While driving 50 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond. The contact had to exert excessive force on the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The contact also stated that the revolutions per minute increased to high and the brake light was illuminated. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 98,000.

I own a 2015 Ford F-150 pickup 4wd 4 door since new. Has 49k miles. The brake light came on while traveling on a busy expressway I checked my brakes and had no pressure at all, the pedal went right to the floorboard I had no brakes a complete brake failure without warning! I managed to down shift and use the parking brake to stop. This is a very serious issue that need to be addressed, a complete brake system failure without warning should not happed to a well maintained 3 year old truck. Please look into this before someone gets seriously hurt or killed. At the time of brake failure we were traveling at 55 mph on a busy NY expressway during rushhour. I took the truck to a local repair shop and have been told it's a failed master cylinder, he called Ford to get a replacement part and the original replacement part is discontinued waiting on the replacement of that. I have learned that Ford has a recall for this same issue on 2013 and 2014 f150 with the 3. 5l ecoboost engine and has received complaints of same problem on the 2015,s. I am emailing you to both alert you of a situation and ask that you reach out to my father regarding what happened to him this morning. He owns a 2016 or 2017 F-150 with the 3. 5 eco-boost. This morning as he was driving between 50 � 60 mph south on hwy 111 in coming into livingston TN. He let of the gas preparing to veer right on the 111 bypass, his brake warning light came on and when he attempted to apply the brakes his foot went to the floor and the was absolutely zero there for him to stop the truck. Luckily this happened about 6 am and there was no one on the road and it was in a place that he had room and time to shift down and decrease his speed and pull over. One mile further and this could have had a very different ending. He was on his way to pick up a boat. . So this was three hours later this could have had an extremely different ending. Did I mention he 81 years old. There was little to no warning, the light came on just as he was getting ready to make his turn. This could have turned out very bad.

Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the brake light illuminated low fluid as well as the emergency brake illuminated when the failure happened. The contact was in operation of the vehicle, applied the brakes and they had completely gone to the floor board. The dealer henry curtis Ford,1120 auto center dr, petaluma, CA 94952, (707) 769-2310 indicated that the brake master cylinder and the brake reservoir may need to be replaced as well as further diagnosis and testing of the brake system. The dealer made no mention of a manufacturer TSB ssm-46139. The contact was not included in NHTSA action number: rq16001 service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic the manufacturer had not issued a brake system recall for this year, make and model. The contact was uncertain if the dealer may be able to provide a permanent fix. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 26,000. Dyd.

~95% brake power loss. Vehicle was stationary, and once started the low brake fluid light came on. Brake function was reduced to about 5% of normal function. Refilled fluid in reservoir and all fluid was lost during first 5 miles of driving. At this time there was only about 5% of brake power remaining and the vehicle had to be stopped using gear downshifts and the emergency brake. I checked over the vehicle and there was no apparent fluid loss in the engine bay or the brake lines. Took to Ford dealership and it was diagnosed as a master cylinder leak into the brake booster. This problem is an active recall with 2013 and 2014 model year F-150's, however my manufacture date did not fall within this recall.

My 2016 Ford f150 limited is 2 years old. The brakes started not working well and then the brake fluid light came on. I took it to the dealership and they told me the master brake cylinder was leaking and had to be replaced. I had to pay for this even though there is a recall for this same issue on other model year f150s.

Drove the truck for about 2. 5 miles with no issues and parked. As I backed out of parking the truck lost all braking capability. I was able to stop the vehicle using the transmission. The truck alerted me with a brake fluid light and the emergency brake light. No visible leaks under the hood, calipers, frame, engine compartment. Towed to dealer. . . The truck has 28,100 miles. Platinum 3. 5 eco boost!.

Driving down 7hwy in leavenworth county kansas. Pushed brake pedal down and low brake fluid light came on and brake pedal went to the floor.
