Driving on a bypass highway, the brakes failed, and I almost rear ended someone. Light came on, added fluid, then again they failed. I have the vehicle at the Ford dealership now. I have just over 40k miles on the truck, this repair better be covered by Ford.

I was driving on the freeway on my way to the office this morning, as I approached heavy traffic travelling at 75 mph. I applied the brakes and my brake pedal went completely to the floor. The truck had complete and total brake failure. I was fortunate enough to avoid an accident by going down the grass in between the 2 opposing lanes of traffic.

100% brake failure at highway speed. Ford recalled previous model years for the same issue but failed to inform owners of later years that had the same parts installed. My truck was serviced at the Ford dealer I bought it from 100 miles before failure. Ford should be urged to recall and reimburse.
Vacuum pump and brake booster has failed on my f150. Ford states that the vehicle is not covered under "15n05" extended coverage/recall. Vehicle was manufactured at the effected plants during the time listed in the bulletin. Ford is charging me over $1300 to fix my vehicle, despite this being a known safety problem.

Complete brake failure. This is an absolute safety issue as I could not stop my truck until I put the vehicle in park nearly hitting another vehicle. The brakes will not stop the vehicle on cold start as the rpm's run slightly higher at idle. Took 2011 f150 to dealer for servicing of the brakes and dealer was able to replicate issue and stated vacuum assist pump is not working and will be covered under a recall. Brake vacuum pump was changed, dealer tested and called me and said truck was repaired. I pick the truck up from the dealer and back up, again no brakes, brake pedal is to the floor as I am still moving in reverse I put shifter into neutral and come to a stop. I then shift into drive to park the truck and again no brakes and drive over the curb protecting Ford service department building before coming to a stop. Dealer performs maintenance and finds that the brake booster has an internal issue causing bleed off loss in pressure. I ask if this is a recall item and the dealer states that it is not. Waiting for repair to be completed and will cost $500 for parts and labor and was stated that this was a highly discounted rate.
Complete brake failure with no warnings.
While trying to stop at a busy intersection my brakes completely failed. Seconds later I noticed a brake fluid warning light. Upon investigation, brake fluid was very low. Added more fluid to correct the issue, only to be in the same situation a few miles down the road. Ford customer service has been very unhelpful. Parts agents hung up on me, and no guidance as to where I can find replacement parts. Vehicle is currently parked and can't be driven until fixed. I bought aftermarket parts and have to miss days of work and pay for a rental. There is only 68k miles on the truck and 3 years old. Ford knows about this and has not issued any recalls. I hope this is addressed before someone is seriously injured or dies. They are not willing to talk about it on their chat line.
I experienced total brake failure while driving. I was able to stop with the parking brake. I checked the brake fluid reservoir and found it empty. There was not a crash involved.
Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that when the brake pedal was applied. There was a total loss of brake power as the brake pedal had gone completely to the floor board. The failure was happening intermittently as the failure progressed with no warning. There was no warning indicator when the brake failure kept happening with absolutely no traction to the brake pedal. The dealer greenway Ford, 9001 e colonial dr, orlando, FL 32817, (407) 544-5252 was contacted however the vehicle was not diagnosed by the dealer. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA action number: rq16001 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000. Dyd.
Being the driver of a 2016 F-150 crew cab 4x4 with 3. 5 eco boost motor. I have been now been involved in two brake failure related collisions. One on June 20, 2017 and the other this year on July 3rd. The first brake related collision was on June 20th, 2017. I was stopped at a traffic light behind some other cars waiting on light to change. Next thing I know I feel a slight bump hitting the car in front of me so I go to hit the brake again and inadvertently hit the accelerator ending up pushing the car in front of me into the car in front of it. Which caused a 3 vehicle accident that day. Now this July 3rd I was involved in a much serious accident due to brake failure. I was driving in far left lane approaching a traffic light that was red and cars in front of me stopped ahead. I went to hit my brakes to stop and the truck kept on get going in a forward motion without any indication the brakes were working. I tried to direct truck to the left side median to avoid a collision and while in forward motion I made impact with the car in middle pushing it into the first car up front that was involved in my second accident. My truck's middle and right front made contact with car in front of me hard enough to puncture gas tank on the left side of that car with my front mounted trailer hitch and push it into the 1st car's rear end. My drivers side steering wheel air bag deployed hitting me in the stomach area and seat belt faster on drivers side bruised my right hip, and neck ended up with some muscle strain as well. The driver of the most forward car went to the hospital with unknown injuries while I was tending to the local authorities investigation and my truck. The driver in middle car, the car I struck I know that their car was totaled with severe damage to both front and rear damage. Weather clear and roads dry. There was no trace of skid marks on the road.

On may 4th my brakes totally failed. Luckily I discovered this when I got into my truck to start it up from work. My brake pedal went all the way to the floor. I popped the hood and discovered the brake fluid reservoir empty. I am lucky that I was not driving when I discovered this. My truck has been towed to the local Ford dealership and I do not have any documentation at this time. The vehicle was parked.

Transmission unexpectedly shifts into lower gear. Was informed by Ford dealer in writing that I needed to replace the lead frame assembly. Brakes fail on cold start. Vacuum pump replaced by dealer. Brakes still experience issue (as described in Ford's campaign) was informed by Ford that there was an issue with the brake booster.

I was driving on the freeway at 65 miles per hour when I had a sudden warming light flash saying brake fluid problem. I tested the brakes and they went to the floor. Total brake failure with no warning. The truck has 29,000 miles and was serviced within last 2 months. This could have very bad and had tragic consequences. I fortunately was able to down shift using the manual shift feature and slow down and stop safely. This is a serious issue. My family and I could have been in a serious accident and hurt ourselves or others. Ford needs to get this figured out ASAP. Call me with any questions.
Put the truck in drive and the brake booster failed.
3. 5 liter v6 ecoboost sudden and complete loss of braking ability without warning brake pedal going to the floor with sudden and complete loss of brake effectiveness brake warning lamp illumination and low brake fluid level comes on after complete loss of brakes, slowed down with emergency brake luckily at low speed added 1 quart of dot4 brake fluid brake warning lamp illumination and low brake fluid level disappeared brake pedal went to the floor with sudden and complete loss of brake effectiveness brake warning lamp illumination and low brake fluid level did not come on until after brakes failed I did not have an accident but it was close. Took to shop with complete brake failure. Truck has 39000 miles. The vehicle was on a city street when the brakes failed. No fluid was detected under the vehicle even after adding 1 quart of dot 4 brake fluid and the brakes failed again.

Warning notice came on and a minute later brakes completely failed. Luckily I was driving very slowly on a military base.
On Saturday June 10, 2017 I was out of town with family in cary, nc. We were leaving the hotel parking lot that morning and when I started the truck and put truck in reverse the brakes did not work. . After looking, I saw there was no brake fluid. There was no brake fluid on the ground so I didn't know what the issue could be. I got more brake fluid then drove to a mechanic. By the time I got to the mechanic (1 mile down the road) the brake fluid was gone again. After the mechanic looked at issue, it was determined that the brake booster failed. They found that there were no parts and it took until Tuesday June 13, 2017 to get part and repair. Thinking there must be an issue since no parts were available. I found that 126 complaints were registered regarding the brake booster on 2013 Ford f150's. After calling Ford it was determined that my 2013 Ford f150 was not on the list. My Ford f150 had the exact same major issue that the Ford f150's that were recalled. This is very disturbing that the brakes went out, especially after we had just drove through the west virginia mountains. I have talked to Ford multiple times and they are not willing to do anything about this issue. Only until the part is put on the recall list for my VIN# will Ford do something. I have been told to keep my receipts just in case it is put on the recall list. I find this very upsetting that the exact same part had been recalled on other 2013 Ford f150, but my VIN# was not on the list. I had the exact same issue and this could have been a very bad problem if this happened in the mountains that we had driving through. I have the part that failed and all receipts. I hope that this complaint gets noticed and something is done. Thank you.
I was driving normal speed and had to make a quick stop because the truck in front of me stopped short in front of my. I slammed the brakes to stop and my truck did not stop and collided with the car in front of me. There were no skid marks, the truck just did not stop. I had the brakes done the day before and I did not stop. I took my truck to Ford to check brake boost vacuum pump because it was making noises. They replaced it because the part was defective. I believe this is what caused my accident and the inability to stop quickly. Ford has replaced the part and the brakes are working properly but the pump is still noisy. I believe this to be related to the 2011‐2012 Ford f‐150 equipped with 3. 5l gtdi engines ea15‐006 brake vacuum pump failure.

Sudden total brake failure. No ability to stop vehicle. Fortunately in a residential zone and was travelling at low speed. . Brake was functioning normally when driven to neighborhood retail shop. When re-entered the vehicle and began to accelerate, brake warning lamp lit and I had no braking ability!.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that when the brake pedal was depressed, the brakes failed to respond. The failure occurred intermittency. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 102,000.
6 power brake failures in less than 1 month. First time to dealer could not find issue. After 4 more failures they were able to reproduce. Brake pedal becomes extremely hard and difficult to stop truck. Happens at any speed. They replaced brake booster pressure switch and said it was fixed. It is not, failed twice today. All 6 failures have occurred after mc was replaced under recall. Brake system is unsafe!!!!.
Two days after purchasing this two year old used limited edition f150 the power brake assist failed; weather condition was rain. Returned it to dealership who did nothing as they could not duplicate the problem. This has happened several times since purchasing the truck, and reported to the dealership, and is a major concern to me as I tow a 26' travel trailer with it. Rate of speed when applying brakes was @15mph or less, and each time the roads were wet. Called Ford today and established case # cas-11141043 for this repeat condition after dealership said there were no recalls or tsbs and that it was uncertain if it's under warranty. Today was the most recent incident and the truck is back at the dealership now.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. While driving 30 mph, the brakes failed and there was no pedal movement at all. The contact had to shift the vehicle into manual in order to slow down. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, but the diagnosis was unknown. The failure mileage was 96,000.
My three-month-old 2016 Ford f150, has 10,000 miles on it. I bought it brand new, with 9 miles on the odometer. Up until Friday, 11-18-16, it had been a pretty good vehicle. On the aforementioned date, when approaching a stoplight, I applied the brakes. Much to my dismay, the pedal went to the floor & the truck did not slow down. Complete brake failure. I took the vehicle to the dealership for diagnosis & repair. They still have it & I¿m in a loaner car. I also now see that there are other reports of the same thing happening to other 2015/2016 Ford f150 trucks. I would think this type of a failure would be deemed catastophic, as one could imagine what could happen when driving a vehicle at any speed, and no way to stop it.
On Friday 10/28 while driving down the interstate at about 55 miles/hour at approximately 6:30pm with vehicles ahead of and behind my truck, the vehicle began to give a number of check engine alerts, at which time the engine rpms dropped to very low levels and began to stall and the accelerator no longer responded. Had truck towed to the nearest dealership within the hour. I was very lucky in this situation, for had I been in a construction area or on a bridge, the situation could have been much worse. This same situation occurred on the evening of 10/2 while driving 40mph down a state road near my home and according to the dealer who attended to the issue, the brake module had failed which caused the symptoms to arise. In that instance, the accelerate failed to respond and the engine began to stall, which it did when I pulled to the side of the road. They replaced the module a few days later. In addition, the driver side door vibrates and does not latch properly. Two dealers have failed to resolve this issue to date and I believe it is a safety concern that has largely been dismissed by the service technicians and dealerships involved. Despite numerous documented attempts to resolve this issue with Ford customer service, they have ignored this concern, have failed to respond to me in a timely manner, and declined a buyback request. I am submitting lemon law documentation for the vehicle during the week of October 31. I have spent hundreds of dollars on rental vehicles during attempted repairs to the doors and the brake module since Ford claims they will not cover the cost of rental vehicles during warranty repairs. Repair documentation attached pertains to repairs for 10/2 occurrence since the dealership has not yet had an opportunity to inspect my vehicle since it was dropped off yesterday evening. I will gladly provide info once received.
Service bulletin was out for a break booster vacuum for 3 mdel years of the f150. Had taken my truck in around mid may 2016 and the part was on back order. (had a loaner truck for over a month) part was installed and had my truck back a week or two before the 4th of July 2016. Started hearing the noise again and was finally able to get my work schedule to work with me on getting my truck in today 10-17-16 and sure enough part is bad. Now Ford is saying it's on me to pay out of pocket for this part to be replaced again. Barely 3 and a half months after it was fixed. Claiming this was a customer satisfaction fix. There is no doubt why this shouldn't be a recall and why Ford shouldn't be manning up and taking care of this issue. Potential brake failure because of a reoccurring issue with this part on many other trucks.
