1 Mechanical Jack problem of the 2005 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 08/04/2005

Consumer complained that jack that came with vehicle does not extend high enough so that he can change a flat. The flat tire will come off, but the replacement tire that is inflated will not go on with the jack fully extended. Consumer had a flat on vehicle at on August 4, 2005 around 1:00 am. Consumer had to call for help. He was stranded due to improper jack. He was unable to change the tire. Tow truck driver t came to the scene used his jack to lift vehicle, and tow truck drivers jack was also too short. He had to use a 4x4 piece of wood under jack to change flat. Consumer believed that jack was probably made for a 15 inch tire. This vehicle had 17 inch tires. When changing the flat with the jack supplied with vehicle it fell off of the jack. 2 Mechanical Jack problem of the 1997 Ford F-150
