We received the safety recal 26v237 in may. Today 6/16/26, while driving the vehicle, it began acting like the recal said, however, the truck failed and will not start. My husband went and purchased a battery first because we didn't realize it was the recall at first. We cannot go without the vehicle. We will need to have someone tow the car once there is a repair available, however, in the mean time, we need a loaner/replacement truck. We called the number on the form, but they could not help with a failed vehicle and we called the manufacturer, but there is no button for the vehicle is failed and we need help. It hung up on us because they don't have a fix for the defect, there is nothing on the warning about what to do when the vehicle fails and you don't yet have a fix.

Transmission began shifting hard through each gear. Especially on deceleration. Causes lunging. Early signs were at about 90k miles. Undrivable at 130k. Took to dealership and the said it needs a new transmission. Just under $9k. Their words were, "this is a known design failure". A drum bushing can slide out of position.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 26v237000 (power train); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the transmission failed to shift out of 5th gear, with the check engine warning light illuminated and the wrench warning light was activated. The vehicle was driven to the local dealer who diagnosed with leadframe failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was 183,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted. The contact stated that while the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. Additionally, the transmission was shifting abnormally rough. No warning lights were illuminated. The failure was persistent. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact later received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 26v237000 (power train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 108,500.
The speedometer on my vehicle recently indicated a speed 10-15 mph lower than the actual highway speed. Approximately one week later, while operating the vehicle with cruise control set at 58 mph and descending a decline, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted from sixth to first gear. This abrupt shift resulted in a violent jolt to the rear of the vehicle, nearly causing a loss of control. Upon contacting Ford regarding this issue, I was informed that they are aware of the problem and that an extended warranty campaign is in place for the transmission lead wire frame and vehicle speed sensor. Ford offered to repair this free of charge, with the caveat that the campaign covers vehicles up to 150,000 miles, originating from 36,000 miles. According to various owner groups and online forums, this issue is prevalent in 2013 F-150 pickups equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission, often manifesting well after the 150,000-mile mark, as was the case with my vehicle. While Ford acknowledges this known problem and its potential consequences, the warranty repair cutoff at 150,000 miles could lead to catastrophic outcomes, as demonstrated by my near-loss of control incident. It is important to note that the same transmission and speed sensors have already been recalled in 2014 models, which share an essentially identical powertrain, yet the 2013 models are not included in this recall. This presents a significant safety concern, as the manufacturer is aware of the issue, but their current campaign does not adequately cover the mileage at which many of these problems are emerging.

While I was driving down the road and while I was driving through a parking lot, my transmission downshifted without me touching the gearshift. I almost hit a car in the parking lot when it happened and I had to slam my brakes when I was on a main road. Had I been going at a faster speed or in a more busy location I could have easily lost control and hit something or been hit. I never saw any warning lights come on, and there were no indicators that this was about to happen. After my truck did that, it wouldn't start the following morning, and it still hasn't started. My truck was towed to an independent service center and they diagnosed it as the molded leadframe needed replaced. I looked it up and Ford currently has this repair listed under their customer satisfaction program campaign 19n01, but my truck is out of that vehicle mileage and time range. From doing basic research, I've seen that this is a very common problem with these f150s. The vehicle has been inspected by myself and the independent service center, but is available for inspection upon request.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 26v237000 (power train); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while accelerating from a stop light, the transmission was slipping. During the failure the wrench icon was displayed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 180,000.
Truck does not shift the gears when in drive but will in manual mode. No communication to the transfer case. Wrench light on.
2024 Ford f150 tremor 14,000 miles the gearshift modual locks into position and locks the transmission (light blinking and transmission light shows on dashboard) you cannot shift to park or start the car, it will do this in drive or reverse and locks the transmission. A hard reset does not solve the issue. The first time this happened l was with my wife and two young children in the mountains around 30miles from cell service. This is a major safety issue. The dealership cannot replicate it, and therefore wont replace it even though it is a known issue. TSB 26-2066 I do have a video of this happening. Fortunately the second time this happened I was close to home. The vehicle occasionally leaves us stranded due to an un-replicated transmission lock flaw.

I bought this truck about 2 years ago at 130,000 miles ago. I knew the people I bought it from and it's been well maintained through its entire life. It started shifting really hard from 3rd gear to 6th gear and from 7th to 8th gear and took it to Ford to find out what was going on with it. I ended up getting the software update on it which only slightly helped the issue. It went back to the same hard shifting it was doing before about 5 months later but thought nothing of it since it seemed to be normal at this point. I've now learned this hard shift has been a problem for lots of people owning this truck not just me. Around the time the hard shifting came back, my rear differential went out requiring a $4,500 replacement. A little while after getting the rear differential replaced my transmission's hard shift got worse and took it to the shop to get a transmission service done on it. Now after getting the transmission service I had a transmission failure 2 days later (June 12, 2026). Now I'm getting quoted for a $8,500 fix on a truck I've already had to toss over $6,000 into over the span of 2 years. That's absolutely ridiculous especially with how many people seem to be having issues with this 10 speed transmission.
Ford f150 10 speed transmission failure, third replacement of defective oil pan, and replacement defective rear main seal. Transmission was taken for service/repair while still under warranty. Local dealer advised problem not found. Hard shifts and skipped shifts persisted until recently I had to pay for tranny rebuild and third replacement of defective oil pan. Ford should have to reimburse me for these repairs. It is a known fact that Ford knew about this problem for years and has had thousands of complaints.

Transmission does not shift or grab gears and would make me be stuck in the middle of the road.
First time it happened on a side road. The vehicle stopped shifting. The wrench illuminated on the dashboard. Following the incident. The vehicle continued to drive slowly without shifting. Shortly after that, the wrench symbol disappeared and the truck operated normally. Second time an incident occurred was two weeks later. I was on a side street when the second incident occurred. The wrench appeared. The truck stopped shifting. It remained in first or second gear. The accelerator is unresponsive.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the roadway. The check engine and powertrain warning lights were illuminated. The contact was frightened, and the vehicle went into limp mode. The vehicle was almost involved in two crashes with other vehicles behind the vehicle during the failure. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The contact stated that later, while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start; however, after several attempts, the vehicle restarted. The vehicle was taken to o'reily's, where a diagnostic machine was connected to the vehicle. The vehicle was diagnosed with a power train sensor failure. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 26v237000 (power train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 73,000.
Transmission is acting up causing vehicle to jerk in traffic and makes a loud clunking sound in 3-4 and 8 gear. I’m afraid it’s gonna fail one day and cause an accident. I hear from other Ford f150 owners this is a widespread issue with these vehicles.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55-60 mph, the park, neutral, and drive lights started to cycle and flash. The transmission unexpectedly downshifted to first gear with the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The local dealer was contacted about NHTSA campaign number: 26v237000 (power train); and confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 162,009.
The transmission failed while driving. While accelerating to speed, there was a "clunk" and then the vehicle was unable to shift to another gear, stuck in 7th. The vehicle lurched continuously, decelerated suddenly, and I was unable to shift up or down. Cars behind me swerved to avoid hitting me. Luckily I was able to drive at below speed with hazards lights flashing to the nearby dealership. Truck has completed every recommended maintenance check and only has 65,600 miles on it. Repair costs for new transmission were stated to me at $9800 by the dealership. There were no warning signs or symptoms prior to the failure. However, reading multiple online complaints indicates Ford has known about the defect for the 10r80 transmission failure for years, as early as 2017, and there is a recall for this for model years 2017-2018. This is clearly a safety issue, and I am lucky I was not on the highway at high speed nor had my grandchildren in the vehicle.
I am having a lead frame issue. At various speeds, the vehicle will just down shift, locking the tires and causing a hazard for other drivers which could be a very dangerous situation. I was impacted from the rear due to this occurrence. It causes extreme jerkiness when doing this which is also injurious to my back and neck and shoulders.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to shift properly and unexpectedly entered limp mode. The powertrain warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 26v237000 (power train); however, the parts required to perform the recall repair were not yet available. The vehicle was taken to multiple dealers but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealers confirmed that the parts were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 112,000.
My 2015 Ford F-150 experienced a sudden, dangerous loss of throttle power while driving, forcing an emergency stop on the side of the road. The vehicle is now locked in a hard electronic no-start/no-crank condition. We diagnosed the vehicle and pulled active, stored trouble codes p0706 and p0707 for the transmission range sensor (trs). This failure matches the exact defect described in NHTSA campaign 26v237 / Ford recall 26s28. However, Ford corporate and the local dealership (washington Ford in PA) are actively refusing to provide an emergency diagnostic scan, towing, or physical parts replacement, claiming they will not honor the remedy until June 30th. This has left a hazardous, disabled vehicle stranded on my property. They have acknowledged this meets the criteria of the safety recall but want me to pay for the towing of the disabled vehicle, diagnostics, and repair upfront including the lead frame which the recall notice specifically states should be replaced because the codes were thrown before reprogramming.
On a day trip I experienced transmission issues where my truck attempted to shift from 10th gear to 1st gear on the interstate. After getting off an exit it attempted to shift from 6th to 1st gear going 50mph. Ford knows the cdf drum on the 10r80 transmissions are bad from the factory. They have even revised the part to accommodate for the issue. They refuse to recall this transmission or cover the cost. This could have caused a wreck while traveling on the interstate and endangered my life. I have the 6th to 1st gear shift on video.
I previously had an issue with my 10 speed f150 transmission shifting into first gear at highway speeds and locking into first gear. It was taken to the dealer and had a tail shaft speed sensor replaced. It had been issue free for a few years now, but the issue happened again this weekend while towing a loaded trailer almost causing a loss of control and crash. It was completely unexpected and required the vehicle to be stopped and restarted to get the truck out of first gear.

While driving my 2020 f150 VIN # [xxx], at highway speeds, transmission abruptly shifts down to 1st gear then back to 9th gear and does not advance to 10th gear. Also, while accelerating, at 3 gear shift to 4th, there is a slipping of the transmission and eventually it kicks in to 6th gear. When the downshift occurs at highway speeds, the transmission slows immediately where we have to pull over or get hit by traffic in our lane. This problem was confirmed by an independent service center once I took it in. Other than the independent service center, I have not had anyone else inspect the vehicle. When this error happens, I get a wrench light come on and it will not go away until I shut off the engine and wait 1 min or so, then restart the truck. In one incident, when the truck was rolling at highway speed and the downshift occurred, the rear wheels locked as though I had hit the breaks. The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 26v237000 (power train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced severe transmission shift failures, including sudden erratic downshifts, with a gear indicator cycling through park(p), neutral(n), drive (d) and first to third gears. The power train warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it diagnosed and determined that the failure was related to the recall. The vehicle was not repaired because parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle was safe to drive. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.

Initially; I thought someone rear ended my truck, but it turned out to be a severe shifting problem when accelerating. I took the truck to a Ford authorized service dealer and they told me about the well documented "10r80 mechanical hardware defect (cdf drum migration)" transmission problem for Ford model years 2017-2022. There were no warning messages or symptoms that I remember. The truck has 142,000 miles.
My 2019 F-150 has only 25,000 miles. The dealership has confirmed transmission failure requiring a $9,000 replacement. A transmission is expected to last significantly longer than 25,000 miles. I have maintained the vehicle. This is an extraordinary premature failure on a critical part of the vehicle and it poses a massive safety liability.
My vehicle stutters and hesitates as I accelerate up to 55moh. This occurs constantly not only during first startup.
