I have brought my truck in previous times when it was under warranty, I described the same issue every time about a sudden downshift. I have this documented in service sheets I have obtained from them. They said they couldn't replicate the issue or stated it was a reprogramming issue. Over time the downshift issue has damaged the transmission and finally led to it completely failing. I was scheduled to have the recall service on Tuesday 4-23-2019, on 4-18-19 I was driving on hwy 62 at 35mph the truck did the sudden downshift nearly causing me to be rearended, after the downshift my truck lost all power and it had to be pushed into a parking lot. Then I had it towed to the heritage Ford dealership. The issue which is finally been addressed as a recall has led to the transmission failure. I have been quoted $4500. 00 for the transmission replacement. I would appreciate any help. Thank you,.

The transmission has failed two times. The 10r80 transmission is known to shift erratic and cause the truck to randomly pick gears. It will also render the gas pedal useless. This will cause you to be unable to accelerate into the flow of traffic. It will hold a gear and then slam into the next gear and sometimes it will stay in 3rd or 5th and try to start off that way. Its a very dangerous issue. The first time my transmission went out it took Ford over a month to get it going again. Now it is in the shop for the same issue and it has been there for over three months and is still there.
