I am receiving alerts on my Ford app stating that it is a parking aid alert because of electrical isse within the vehicle. Also states to service engine soon alert because of electrical issue has been detected with your vehicle. This may cause the engine start/stop feature (if equipped) to not work. Checking on this I found 0 on the NHTSA website for recalls. With further checking I was informed that this should be a recall to be done. Please let me know if I can get this repaired under the recall. I also notice when starting my vehicle in the mornings that it smokes out of both tailpipes and lasts approximately one to two minutes. Bought truck on 2/25,. 7/15/25, wife went to store took truck. When she went to stop truck noticed brake pedal was going down but truck stop. Brake light went on so she turned around home. She drove slow when she reached the front of house pressed brake to stop truck brake pedal went all the way down. Could not stop truck with brakes so she hit curb with tire to stop it. I checked brake fluid canister and is was empty. No leaks on street. I called dealer; three days later truck was towed by dealer to their place. I was told master brake cylinder assembly and booster assembly has to be repaired. I paid 1,648. 22. I called Ford for any recalls (I was concerned about brakes) I was told that there was a brake recall repaired by all american old bridge, dealership I bought the truck from. Repaired was done on April 12, 2017. Recall number is 16s24 I noticed that it was exactly same problem I paid for. I told Ford what happened and I wanted my money reimbursed at first I was told the warranty expired, it was either 12 months or 12, 000 miles. I explained it was a safety recall not a warranty. The person would not allow me to file for reimbursemenent and after going back and forth finally told me file a claim. I did. Another weeks past and I called again, went through the whole explanation again. Asked to speak to supervisor and after a conversation told me go to dealer to file papers. I did and service manager at first started saying the same thing but eventually put in the claim. I waited several weeks, then check with dealer who told me Ford had to give a code. Called Ford was told no code needed. Called dealer and told them. Several weeks later check dealer and was told still needed code. I called Ford, and asked for a code I was told again about the warranty expiring . I spoke with supervisor same problem. Is 4 months. Nothing. Ford is not complying with federal safety recall law that does not expire. Need investigation about truck brake problem and reimbursement money.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 70 mph on the interstate, the low brake fluid warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over to the right side of the road and became aware that the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard. The contact exited the vehicle to check the brake fluid and became aware that the brake fluid was low. The contact purchased brake fluid and added brake fluid to the brake fluid reservoir; however, the failure persisted. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake master cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: (service brakes, hydraulic). The contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 78,000.
While driving roughly 30-40mph, there was complete loss of brakes. Complete soft pedal to the floor with no brake function. Abs and brake lights flash on dash board, parking brake malfunction warning. No prior warnings, issues, messages indicating need for brake service. My wife and kids were in the car and were lucky to be on a street where we were able to coast to a stop. Any busy street or highway driving could have been sever accident/potential loss of life incident. The dealer said they have never seen this issue before and said they went through a bunch of control modules and simply reset and made software updates. I never received a confirmed "root cause". Dealer made above mentioned software updates and drove the car for 50 miles, claim the issue/service is complete and we need to take the car. No root cause, no confirmed component failure, etc. We do not feel safe taking delivery of the car. We have requested a Ford field service technician/engineer inspect the vehicle with no luck. We have started buy back/replacement process with Ford, no decision made - tells us we are subject to lemon law as if this is a "creature comfort" issue and that we need to take the car back.
Truck has been at Ford dealership since July 9th for this recall. After updating the computer as mentioned in the recall, a “trailer brake fault” was displayed and we were left with no trailer brakes while towing our camper. It has beyond a “reasonable amount of time” to get this safety issue fixed. Compaign recall number: 25s15/25v132.
While slowing down the vehicle on a downward slop, vehicle applied parking break by itself and stopped the vehicle suddenly with parking break sign on the odometer. There was no object or anything in the front of the vehicle and it was being driven on forward direction. So, this abruptly applying of parking break by itself created a confusion and unsafe situation.

I was parking my car and pressed down on the brake. The car continued to roll forward so I pressed down farther. The car kept rolling forward. I took my foot off the brake and then pressed down hard and came to a stop. The brake fluid is clean and at max levels. The brake pads are relatively new. No visible signs of damage or leaking.
When pressing on the break to come to a stop pulling in parking space, my f150 quickly accelerated cause a crash into a building my 2 year old truck has been declared a total loss from insurance.
The contact's wife owns a 2010 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving, the vehicle failed to exceed 80 mph. The contact stated that the abs and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where dtc: c1440 (pressure transducer main/primary signal faulted) was retrieved. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact provided the dtc: c1440 to the dealer. The dealer informed the contact that the abs module needed to be replaced; however, the part had been discontinued. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 131,591.

On [xxx] at [xxx] I dropped my wife and 2 children off at the funland arcade in deep creek, maryland. The parking lot was full from the holiday weekend and I was planning on taking the lightning to a nearby charger while the family gamed so I double parked perpendicular to the arcade entrance, put the hazards on, and let them out. After the 3 of them got out, I placed the lightning in reverse to back up 5-10 feet so that I could exit the parking lot through the same way I came in. Once I had enough space from reversing so I could make the turn to exit I placed the lighting in drive. The moment the lightning switched to drive it accelerated at a very high speed as if I was flooring the gas pedal, which I was not. The lightning was in one-petal mode which I always use unless I’m on a highway. I immediately began pumping the brakes but the truck would not stop, I probably slammed on the brake petal 4-5 times to no avail. I even tried shifting the truck back into park but it would not shift out of drive. I was able to luckily steer the truck into a hillside approximately 150 feet away. The truck ran over numerous small trees and shrubs before crashing to a stop approximately 16 feet up the hill. Shortly after the shock wore off, I slowly reversed the truck down the hill, exited the truck, and informed dozens of onlookers who came out of the arcade to see what the noise in the parking lot was from, that the truck just took off on its own but that I was fine. I called 911 and the police came. Luckily no people or vehicles were between the arcade entrance and the hillside or the outcome would have been significantly worse. This crash was witnessed first hand by wife and 2 children. I have grave safety concerns about this truck now and will not put my family or self back in it until Ford fixes this problem. I am making this complaint in case this information can help prevent future crashes of this vehicle. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
This vehicle is subject to NHTSA recall #25v236 (Ford recall #25s37) for a defective brake master cylinder that can leak into the brake booster, reducing braking effectiveness and creating a serious crash risk. The recall was issued on April 11, 2025. As of today, Ford has not provided any remedy. My local dealership confirmed that no fix is available, and Ford corporate has refused to provide a loaner, rental allowance, or written timeline. This leaves me with an unsafe vehicle that I cannot rely on. This recall has been open for months without resolution, and Ford’s refusal to provide assistance places me and the public at risk. I request that NHTSA investigate Ford’s failure to provide a remedy in a timely manner, require Ford to provide comparable loaner/rental vehicles until the repair is available, and hold them accountable for this unreasonable delay.

While driving the brakes failed and pedal was to the floor. No warning light before this happened. Warning light eventually came on after the failure. This was a very scary situation. Vehicle was taken to auto repair shop who confirmed it is a failure of the master cylinder and brake booster.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his father was driving 70 mph, the driver's side rear brakes locked up. The “parking brake service now” message was displayed. The driver was able to continue driving. The driver heard an abnormal beeping sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the wiring harness had failed. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.
While driving my 2023 Ford F-150 XLT through a parking lot at low speed, I attempted to stop and shift into reverse to avoid a tight turn between parked vehicles. With my foot firmly on the brake, I shifted into reverse—though the gear shift was abnormally resistant. The system indicated the vehicle was in reverse. Despite keeping my foot on the brake, the truck suddenly and forcefully accelerated on its own, overriding my braking input. It collided with two parked vehicles before I was able to bring it to a stop by turning off the engine. The vehicle continued to accelerate even while I applied firm pressure to the brake pedal, which depressed all the way to the floor and failed to stop the truck. At no point did I press the gas pedal. After impact, the gear shift remained in reverse with a blinking red light. No airbags deployed. This was an extremely dangerous situation that could have seriously injured someone had they been standing nearby. Additionally, for some time leading up to the incident, I noticed increasing difficulty shifting gears even with the brake fully depressed. At times when in park the light for other gear modes would turn on. indicating the vehicle may be in another mode other than park. the brake pedal has also felt inconsistent, often requiring unusually deep and forceful pressure to stop, whether on highways, city streets, or in parking lots. This appears to be a critical failure of both the braking and transmission systems. I am extremely concerned for my safety and that of other Ford drivers. I am requesting a formal investigation into this matter.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the brake pedal became significantly hard to depress. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to stop the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal with added force. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
The electronic emergency break engages while on the highway crusing at normal highway speed. It has engaged randomly for a few months. Yesterday it engaged 15 times almost making me crash the 1st time. I had to pull over, shut off the truck to reset the brake to make it home.

While driving, a vehicle began stopping in front of me. I attempted to stop, however my braking power seemed heavily reduced. Eventually the emergency automatic braking kicked in and engaged my emergency brake. I barely stopped in time. Simultaneously, several warning lights appeared on my dash including abs, traction control, hill assist, and check engine. Immediately after the incident, my brake pedal felt loose. Braking power was severely diminished and delayed. Stopping while going a mere 5 mph would take about 10 yards. It was extremely dangerous and scary to operate - even to pull into the nearest safe parking lot. Upon restarting my vehicle twice, the lights went off except for the check engine light and my braking power returned.
Electrical malfunction with fuses , problems with brake light, engine light and air bag light . Some fuses blown out after brake light fuse popped wipers don't work at all air bog turns on and off every day not sure why.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while in reverse, the brake pedal was depressed, and the brake pedal went to the floorboard. The brake and parking brake warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and inspected. The contact stated that there was no brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir. The contact stated that brake fluid was added to the reservoir; however, two hours later the brake reservoir was empty again. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 117,000.
Either the brake calipers or the soft brake lines feeding the calipers are sticking/collapsing internally causing the brakes to drag/lock up. This has drastically decreased the driveability of the vehicle as brakes dragging is dangerous. Based on internet searches and forums this appears to be a consistent problem with these pickups as this is the most common issue mentioned. Ford needs to address this problem with a recall before someone gets hurt.
While braking slowly to park at my home, my 2023 Ford F-150 lightning XLT suddenly accelerated forward without any throttle input. The vehicle struck a wall. My foot was on the brake and I did not touch the accelerator. There were no warning messages prior to the incident. This could have caused serious injury or worse if anyone was in front of the vehicle. I believe this may be a critical safety defect.
Just got off the interstate on to a frontage road when I received a low brake fluid light warning. Instantly lost braking power. Was traveling approximately 40mph downhill toward a traffic light where cross traffic was going full speed. I had to activate my emergency brake to stop from running into the cross traffic. Got the truck into a gas station, checked the brake fluid reservoir & it was below the minimum fill line. Purchased brake fluid at the gas station, filled it up & drove and the parking lot. The brakes partially worked, but the reservoir drained quickly again. I was lucky that there was a brake service repair shop within a quarter of a mile, so I refilled the brake fluid to the max & drove slowly with hazards on to the shop & left it there. Today they told me it was a brake master cylinder internal failure that caused brake fluid to leak into brake booster resulting in loss of braking power. While my truck is not covered under an existing recall, there is a recall for this exact issue for the same make & model of my vehicle (but with a different motor). That is NHTSA recall # 25v-236. I believe this recall should apply to my truck.
Brake trailer module failure leading to loss of trailer brakes. Second incident.
The passenger side front brake overheated while driving at highway speed. We stopped the truck after smelling the burning odor. The rotor was blue and radiating heat. The driver's side appears normal. Inspection revealed the lower caliper piston was stuck. The piston boot was removed and significant corrosion was found. Truck has 60,000 miles. We are the original owners.
This truck only has 35,000 miles on it , so it's a baby! all of a sudden I get a warning light that says there is a problem with my anti lock breaking system. In the 10 years I have had this truck I have never even had the anti lock breaking system engage! the Ford dealership where I bought the truck said I had a dtc c1288. The dtc c1288 on a Ford f150 indicates a brake pressure transducer circuit failure. Specifically, it means the abs module has detected a problem with the transducer, possibly due to a short or open circuit, where the pressure reading is too high when other inputs suggest a non-pressurized system. This often results in the esp (electronic stability program) light remaining illuminated. They said if I didn't pay them $3400 parts and labor, my breaks would stop working. This is crazy. The abs system has never engaged yet they say it's broken. This is very dangerous. Most people don't have $3400 to flush down the toilet like I did. I should not have to pay for this repair. Ford should. The part was defective from day 1. Please help me.
My pickup truck at only 23 thousand miles in the engine, it's module went bad and brake and abs lights came on on the dashboard. I took the car to the dealer and they said that I have to replace it and they are charging me 5,400 dollars. They said that some 2009 f150 module were bad from factory, but there's not recalls for it to be fixed by them.

Complete, instant brake failure at only 105871 miles. My wife was backing out of the drive @5 mph, brake pedal pushed clear to floor with no warning. 3-4 minutes later, the brake warning light came on. No warning light ahead of time. Reservoir was very low, I added 12 oz. Dot3 fluid…. . Brakes seemed ok. Got up the next morning , brake low fluid light is on and all 12 oz of brake fluid are gone, not a drip anywhere to be seen. Called the dealer…. Basically because our VIN has not been listed in any recall, we are out of luck on any help with repairs. Incident occurred in our drive, my wife was very lucky. Ford has a serious problem. We are the original owner, 2013 with 105871 miles. Vehicle is very excellent condition. If this would have happened on the highway, serious injury or death to us or others would have been very likely. Taking to the dealer on Monday June 9 for a diagnosis and a serious talk. Hopefully after a confirmation of master cylinder failure and leakage into the brake booster (which Ford knows is an issue), they will be able to repair under an expired recall that should have included our 2013 with the 3. 5 eco boost engine. Dealer’s service dept. Agreed with me over the phone but added not to get my hopes up because Ford did not list every VIN in the recall that they should have included. Interestingly, back in may, Ford notified us by mail, that as still the original owner there had been issues with the master cylinder and booster. If we had a repair done, they would reimburse up to 700. 00 if we could provide proof. We have had no issues, nor any repairs, so we threw the notice away. So, a month after the notification from Ford, here we are. I would think the lawsuits are out there somewhere, I would rather not be a part of any of that…. This should get Fords prompt attention from a safety standpoint. So we’ll see what happens.
The same brake booster that allegedly only had 51 vehicles included in it? same exact issue as this link: [xxx] not working seems like a pretty big safety issue. Dtc code: c0594 brake booster motor "a" performance dtc code: c0594 right rear solenoid circuit information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
This vehicle was purchased by a friend with the factory tow package. No modifications were made before my purchase three years ago. I installed a factory brake controller for a travel trailer I purchased. The software was enabled with forscan, and the dealer updated the software to the latest available. Even with a new seven way plug, the truck displays "trailer disconnected" when using the slide brake and also never shows any output when braking. The brakes do engage but very mildly. The travel trailer brakes normally on my other vehicle. There are no fault codes and no obvious connection issues. The dealership today said they do no know the cause and would likely be unable to resolve it.
