Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph up a hill the transmission abruptly down shifted and smoke was present coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was towed to the local independent mechanic who diagnosed that the connect in the transmission line had malfunctioned causing transmission fluid to leak from the vehicle. The transmission lines were repaired but the vehicle continued to malfunction. While driving up a hill the transmission had abruptly down shifted and while driving down a hill the transmission would not probably shift. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer bob maxey(2798 east grand river Ave. Howell, mi) who replaced the lead frame within the transmission. The contact was informed that metal shavings were also present inside the transmission which was not repaired. The contact indicated that the vehicle was previously repaired under a service program 19n01b to reprogram the transmission. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. (case- 24445319). The failure mileage was 96,000. Jft.

Was driving my eco boost while towing a 26 foot travel trailer and while in 4th gear truck instantly and without warning shifted into 1st gear causing rpms to be dangerously high. The truck/trailer combo instantly slowed and truck would not ,automatically or manually, shift out of first gear. We continued driving in first gear for a short distance when we smelled transmission fluid. We stopped the truck to investigate and found our transmission line had busted which leaked fluid all over the road. We had truck towed to local Ford dealership who told us that the transmission shifting issue is related to a current recall but Ford has not issued a fix for the recall. The dealer then charged me $568. 21 to fix the transmission line stating that Ford has not included the transmission line fix in their related recall. Ford is refusing to pay associated towing expenses, as well. I called Ford customer relations to lodge a complaint regarding this issue and was told the dealer makes final decisions. Case id # cas-17653886. Ford tells me I need to continue to drive this truck knowing there is a transmission issue until Ford releases a fix for these transmissions. I feel it is completely unsafe to drive knowing this could happen at any given moment while driving and especially for a truck that is already known to have had this happen.

Takata recall. When pulling out into traffic on a very busy highway as the on coming traffic speed limit is 50mph, I'm pulling out on the highway with a safe distance between cars on this busy road as I accelerated my 2010 f150 fx4 super crew cab "with my family in the truck I might add" the truck just down shifts and it slams me and my family forward "like I hit a tree going 30mph" the truck shuts off completely and a symbol of a wrench pops up on the dashboard. With no power steering, no power breaks, no way to safely move the truck off the road at this point due to the traffic I was trying to avoid was passing me going at least 50mph almost getting rear ended by several cars and semi trucks, I push the flashers on and pray that nothing bad happens and coast until the truck finally comes to a stop after about 30-45 seconds. I get out of the truck after the group of vehicles pass by and inspected to see if the engine or transmission was blown up or leaking fluid and nothing at this point so I'm stressed out because my family and I could have very well died and there is no proof of this when I restarted the truck no symbols was present when inspected by a mechanic. I keep telling the mechanic that it has no power any more, it sooooo sluggish I can't even drive the truck much anymore, only on short trips to the store. We had to cancel or vacation and cancel the purchase of a camper for our vacation. I'm sorry but if Ford was a real symbol of safety and security of its owners this would have never happened in the first place. This needs to be fixed ASAP!!!.
Unexpectedly downshifting into first gear when at speeds of 40 mph. Then sudden upshift to fourth than in limb mode. Found also that the transmission quick connect was leaking and lost all transmission fluid and no warning lights to let me know that all the fluid was missing. Ford told me that I required a new transmission but it took them a week to notice that transmission fluid was missing. They told me that they tighten up the quick connect and the leak may stop. Well, a day later still have the problem of upshifting and downshift at 3rd to fourth. All the fluid was missing again no warning lights. I replace lines and fuild and the upshift and down shift is gone but now have grinding of the thrid and fourth gear.
Oil and radiator fluid leaks causing engine smoking and nauseating odor when heater turned on while engine cold or cold exterior temps. Complete loss of engine and drive power randomly lasting 15-60secs, then all numbers gas milage, speed, mileage become dashes, speedometer quits working, on highways and city street. Pulling over shutting off and restart will reset until next random episode. Rough jerks and occasionally a bang with jerks (feel like it comes from the axels) usually at low speeds. More often in parking lots but in traffic jams on highways. Once transmission recall complete it ran fantastic for a week and a half. Now it's worse than ever and engine light comes on for a day and then goes off.
05/10/2018 driving in a school zone at 20 mph the vehicle with out any input down shifted from 3rd to 1st gear. After which it refused to shift up until I pulled over and put the vehicle in park. No code was thrown. 5/09/2018 while picking up the kids from school the f150 felt like it was stumbling at 20 mph and then it kicked back in and spun the tires, no code was thrown. Prior to this incident while driving on the freeway the vehicle on several occasions acted as if it did not know what gear to be in while going at a steady pace, the speedometer was bouncing to various speeds and then it smoothed back out. I took the car to a Ford dealership and had them change the fluid believing at 110000+ miles and no way to check the fluid. . . . . . The fluid may have leaked or just was worn out. A couple months ago on multiple occasions while driving on the highway for no reason the vehicle went in to limp home mode at 75 mph, and would only operate in 3 thru 5th gears until I could turn it of and then restart. It threw p0720 code with that code also pending showing the out put speed sensor. This truck is a dearborn truck with 6r80 automatic transmission ( see recall 16s19) but the dealership said it was a truck built in texas. . . . . Ford customer satisfaction program 16n02, NHTSA action number rq17010. As in almost all the reports Ford claims that a truck built at dearborn does not ( by VIN even though the it falls in the recall time frame and has the affected transmission, and the dealership even told me the truck was built in texas).
Tl the contact owns a 2008 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the spare wheel was rusted and transmission fluid was leaking. In addition, the tire pressure indicator was illuminated. The contact called chapman Ford (1485 manheim pike frnt, lancaster, PA 17601) where a service appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 79,542.

Truck has leaking radiator hoses. Went to local Ford dealership for replacement parts. Was told that I am number 70 in line for those parts. Radiator fluid always low, constantly refilling it. This is dangerous due to the amount of fluid that leaks out on a daily basis. Very nervous about driving truck, fear that it may breakdown on me and leave me stranded on side of road. Concerned about the backlog and waiting so long for parts. Is this a problem with all f150 radiator hoses, and if so shouldn't Ford issue a recall and fix the problem. I am worried t4hat I am going to breakdown on the side of a road late at night in 0' weather and try to find a town truck. I only have one vehicle and not able to rent a car for several weeks while my garage waits for the parts.
I have a 2011 f150 with just under 44k miles. Took the truck in for a set of front brakes and was advised that there was a small leak not exactly sure where it was coming from. Within less that a week the engine was not engaging took it back to the dealership they advised that I needed a new transmission as there were no fluids in it. Needless to say I was quite surprised as we had just topped off all the fluids in the past two weeks. Not real sure about this, but I had a new transmission put in picked it up upon leaving the dealership I had another problem the steering seemed a little tight ended up taking I the truck back to the dealership the advised that I replace the electronic power steering assy and program module to vehicle. I wasn't too sure about this so I had the vehicle towed to the dealership that I normally deal with as the current one had terrible customer service and was unwilling to contact Ford on my behalf they said it was coincidence that this was happening. I have not had any problems with the truck in the past it has run perfectly. My guy at my dealership took the truck in and had to put in the power steering assy. This all happened within a period of 3 weeks and I had to pay for a rental car.
Bulkhead switch leaking transmission fluid.
Electronic power steering (epsa) is leaking water and power steering fluid. It's making noises and I am scared to drive it since this is my main transportation for work and family. I've read about this issue and people saying their wheels have locked up and just missed fatal accidents especially doing higher speeds on highway travel. Is it going to take a death before this part is recalled? truck comes to a quick stop like its jumping gears.
Noticed a fluid leak when vehicle was parked in driveway. Discovered it was red transmission fluid coming from the top of the transmission. The electrical plug to the transmission is wet. The truck is babied and very lightly used with only 19,311 miles on it.
Linkage bracket broke wont shift completely into park wont strart I have looked this up and also the cruse control switch leaks brake fluid both of these have been recalled by Ford but the dealership where I too it said my VIN # wasnt on recall list even though these are both admitted to be faulty by Ford how can I get mine repaired.

Fluid loss: on 2 separate occasions I have parked my truck in my driveway at night and in the morning I awake to find puddles of fluid under truck. I have taken the truck to a Ford service center and both times have been told I have no leaks. 2 days ago the puddle of reddish fluid was much bigger. Once again I am told no leaks by service department. I have shown them pictures & I am told there are fluids they cannot check, Ford has not provided a way to do that on this truck. I purchased an extended warranty as I can't afford a huge repair bill. Other f150 owners have had similar issues and I am concerned. Is Ford going to wait until someone dies or are they hoping the consumer will pay for fix after warranty has expired? what are they hiding?.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 65 mph, the transmission downshifted without warning and the instrument cluster failed suddenly. The vehicle was stuck in fifth gear. The contact notified the dealer and they advised the contact to wait a moment and restart the vehicle. The contact was able to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road to restart the vehicle, which reset the computer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who disassembled the transmission and indicated that there was an internal failure. The micro chip was covered in transmission fluid. The dealer did not indicate why the transmission fluid leaked internally or if there was an internal fracture within the transmission. The dealer replaced the part with a modified version of the micro chip within the transmission along with a cover. The contact was uncertain if the repair would provide a permanent remedy for the condition. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 99,116.
The contact owns a 2009 Ford F-150. The contact stated that all of the transmission fluid leaked out of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the grommet had failed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,000 and the current mileage was 71,100.

National highway traffic safety administration. After coming home from a week of business travel, my neighbor came over to inform me that my 2010 f150 fx4 with the 5. 4 v8 and 6 speed transmission was leaking transmission fluid on the driveway. After checking under the truck I looked under the hood for the transmission oil dip stick so I could check the fluid level. To my surprise, there is no transmission oil dip stick. After looking thru the owner¿s manual, it states that the transmission is a sealed transmission and doesn't need any oil except if there is a problem. Well obviously if there is a leak, there is a problem and there is no way to add fluid to prevent an failure issue. I then contact a dealer near my georgia home and took it in for service. They told me it was a transmission bulkhead connector seal leak and it would cost $600. 00 to repair. This is outrageous. After looking thru the internet, I found the Ford TSB 11-3-25. From my search, there are thousands of people reporting this issue. Since the transmission could leak until it doesn't have enough fluid to make it work properly, thus causing drivability issues. I would think this should be considered a safety issue and be a recall, not just a TSB. Therefore, I'm writing you this email to advise you of this issue incase you are not aware of it.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle would not accelerate from a stop when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was moved over to the side of the roadway, where the contact noticed that transmission fluid was leaking onto the ground. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where they were in the process of diagnosing the failure. The failure and current mileages were 1,200.
The contact owns a 2009 Ford F-150. The contact stated the transmission had been exhibiting problems since the vehicle was purchased. The contact stated that he was taking the vehicle to the dealer for the forth time for transmission failures. The dealer advised that the manufacturer was using a different type of transmission for his particular year, make and model vehicle. The contact stated that the transmission fluid was leaking abnormally, the internal wiring harness was replaced as well as the automatic transmission gasket. The vehicle was shifting extremely hard and exhibiting a loud bang sound when shifting between any gear. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 40,337 and the current mileage was 52,000. Updated 05/24/lj.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford F-150. The contact examined the vehicle after noticing transmission fluid leaking and a burning smell. The dealer stated that the transmission case failed due to faulty strip threaded plugs in the transmission case and they made the replacement. The current mileage was 2,100 and failure mileage was 344. Updated 10/24/07.

Purchased new 7/3/07 Ford F-150 2wd: transmissions shaft seal broke and trans fluid leaked out when drive home. On 9/10/08 transmission bearing was replaced and main control value was overhauled.
2004 F-150 supercrew 2wd automatic. Transmission requires rebuild at 54000. Bought new all seals replaced within 2-3 months due to fluid leaks. Slipping began less than 40,000. Fluid flush alleviated the issue, but slipping returned. At 60 mph trasmission slipped into neutral momentarily at random times. Power rear sliding window does not work; failed within first 2-3 months; no computer code to detail the issue so Ford will not fix regardless of confirmed failure and warranty coverage. Rotors had to be replaced on first break maintenance.
