The vehicle was parked, put into park, the key was removed, then the vehicle was locked. Upon returning to the vehicle the vehicle was unlocked, the tailgate was lowered and we proceeded to load a bulky 70 (I'm guessing) pound object into the bed of the truck. As we pushed the object into the bed of the truck the vehicle started to roll. It was rolling more than just the normal few inches that a vehicle in park can sometimes roll. I jumped into the drivers seat (the door had been left ajar) and pressed the brake to stop the truck. The keys were not in the ignition, the gear shift indicated that the vehicle was in park. The extra parking brake was not being used. The parking lot was very level, there was no slope at all. Once we had the object we were loading secured we pushed the truck and it was still able to be moved. We were fortunate that the object that we were loading wasn't heavy, because it would have been very easy to have an object drop down onto the person(s) loading. There were no injuries to anyone, there were no other vehicles damaged. We just felt that this was something that should be reported. Mileage is approximate mileage was 39,824 in June ( 5 months ago)at last oil change.

When vehicle placed in reverse there is a delay 5-8 seconds before jerking hard into gear suddenly. Additionally the gear indicator lamp on the dash disappeared. Then a large yellow wrench appears. The vehicle was assemble at the kansas facility and Fords 12c23-s1. Safety recall campaign fails to cover this, stating there is no recall listed for this vehicle VIN. This vehicle nearly struck a student when my wife (teacher) was attempting to place vehicle in reverse to leave her parking place, when there was a delay to go into gear she pressed the accelerator thinking it needed fuel. As the transmission abruptly jerked into gear at the high rpms the vehicle shot backwards out of control. This is a known safety issue and is not being addressed by Ford because of a number on a piece of paper. It appears I'm not the only one with this issue and ask for your assistance in helping prevent a tragedy. Your organization has addressed this in the past and it appears it needs to be addressed again.

Hello, my name is ryan slatton and I just recently purchased a 2013 Ford F-150 with 98,500 miles 3 weeks ago. I had just gotten home from work and I had to take my girlfriend to meet someone. As we were pulling out the driveway I noticed that on the gear indicator in the gauge cluster it showed I was in 5th gear, I tried to accelerate a little thinking it was a bug in the cluster but it was actually in 5th gear. I got to the end of the driveway and shut the truck off. I proceeded to start the truck back up and pull out of the driveway because everything had seemed like it went back to normal. About 5 minutes down the road as I was going 60 mph the truck locked up the rear tires and skidded into the opposite lane, luckily no one was approaching me.
Widely reported- please read carefully! very similar to existing recall*, but not the same. Potentially deadly. Current recall does not address the sudden up-shifts mentioned here. 2013 Ford F-150 mfg defect: molded leadframe assy in 6r80 transmission symptoms: intermittent loss of speed signal causes sudden/unexpected slamming upshift from 1st gear to 5th when accelerating from a stop, causing a complete and unexpected loss of all acceleration. Indications: 5th gear suddenly indicated on display, dashes replace numbers on speed/mileage related displays (mpg, odometer). Speedometer may read 0, airbag symbol pops on, large orange wrench symbol may briefly appear. Pressing on accelerator does not cause downshift. Motor may stall. Remains in 5th gear without some other corrective action. Turning engine off and back on will reset the computer, and vehicle operates normally until next occurrence. Dangers: this could be fatal when pulling out into oncoming traffic, both from the side (pulling out in front of oncoming traffic from side street) or from rear (sudden, unexpected loss of speed/ no brake lights). Ford cannot fix this by re-programming the vehicle to ignore the faulty sensor any more than you can ignore an oncoming cement truck or train. Repair is approximately $800. If not recalled, owners may try to live with the risks or trade to an unknowing person, endangering lives of others. *this defective part is also the root cause of Ford recall #19s07, involving sudden violent down-shifts (not upshifts). Ford is avoiding the problem by re-programming the ecu to ignore the intermittent speed signals, allowing the transmission to fail more gracefully, defects to be repaired at owner's expense. This approach will not work for the up-shift problem. The defective part should be immediately replaced at Ford's expense to correct both problems.
This vehicle generally exhibits harsh upshifts (3rd-to-4th) and downshifts (4th-to-3rd) as indicated on the driver's ip. I have experienced multiple occasions when the vehicle will "miss" the shift from 3rd to 4th, normally when cold and under light to moderate throttle conditions. The gear indicator briefly shows 1st gear, however, I was able to apply full throttle (100% accel pedal), but had no power to the wheels (drive is not engaged), engine speed rose to approximately 3000 rpm. This condition lasted for about 2-3 secs before it shifted to 4th, the revs settled to normal/expected range and drive to the wheels was re-engaged. This is an extremely dangerous condition that leaves me without power to safely accelerate, or merge with traffic.

While driving 60mph up a slight incline on the interstate, the truck stopped decelerating. The engine rpms jumped up. Fortunately I was in the right hand lane and pulled to the shoulder and out of traffic. I was able to rev the rpms and no acceleration, while the gear indicator continued to read "d. " it appeared the transmission slipped out of all gears. I coasted to a stop and apologized to my friend for the language as I was on a handsfree call. I placed the gear selector in park, noticed that there were no warning indicators on the dash, and shut off the truck. I pulled out the manual and tried to think of what to do next. Finding no solutions, a friend suggested before I call a tow truck, to start it up and try to put it in drive. I did, and it went into gear normally. It has not happened again, however it has had a few unusually aggressive gear changes. I do not trust this truck with the coyote v-8 engine and 10-speed transmission combination.
Sometimes vehicle will start or get stuck in 5th gear either from the start or during deceleration. Engine revs, but forward motion compromised. Intermittent sudden downshifting at highway speeds. Gear indicator and tramsmission position will drop to 1st. This causes the rear wheels to lock up at highway speed and put the vehicle into a spin. Paid Ford dealership to complete TSB lead frame repair in April 2018. Problem has gotten worse. Opencase with Ford fleet service 15493350-j0v7c7.
Sometimes vehicle will start or get stuck in 5th either from the start or during deceleration. Engine revs, but forward motion compromised. More concerning is the intermittent downshifting at highway speeds. Speedometer has failed and turns off, reads 0 rmp. Gear indicator and tramsmission position will drop to 1st, go back to 5th, and waver anywhere in between. This has even locked up my rear wheels at 70mph. Pretty scary! this has happened a handful of times now. Thankfully, I have been able to shift to neutral, get to the shoulder, kill the engine, restart and go. I wrote this today b/c I got a wrench light finally, so hopefully they can diagnose this intermittent issue.
Sometimes while driving, usually in mountainous terrain or pulling a load, the vehicle will down shift multiple gears. Instead of a progression of one gear at a time, it is a sudden shift from le. Fourth to second or first. I don't know the exact reduction as my vehicle does not have a gear indicator. It occurs sporadically with no warning. This action has never caused a dangerous situation but is concerning. The engine rpm has jumped to the red line which I feel may cause engine and/or transmission problems.

Transmission randomly shifts, sometimes into 1st gear even at 40 mph. Occasionally, speedometer, gas gauge, gear indicator all die and a yellow wrench appears on the display. My research indicates it may be the transmission lead frame.
Unexpected vehicle downshift. Unexpectedly downshifts while driving highway speeds. Speedometer will waiver erratically or bottom out down to zero. Gear indicator will drop to 1st, go back to 5th, and waiver anywhere in between. Vehicle comes to sudden drop in speed which barks the tires and throws the driver forward.
Transmission on 2012 drops to 1st gear orange wrench light comes on sometimes when I stop then start up it will not get out of 1st gear.

On several occasions within the last month, the transmission suddenly, without any warning, shifted into first gear while driving normally, with transmission in d. I estimate that driving speeds during these occurrences varied between 10 and 35 mph. During a couple of occurrences, the gear selection indicator could be seen flashing quickly between several of the lower gears. The date entered below was the date of the most recent occurrence. I have made an appointment with the service department of a local Ford dealer for Monday, Jan 22, 2018.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while stationary, the gear shifter malfunctioned. The contact stated that the vehicle would not shift gears when prompted and that the gear shift indicator light did not illuminate. Metro Ford auto sales of tupelo, mississippi was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 230,000. The VIN was not available.
I was driving on the freeway. I was driving approximately 70mph / 6th gear. My truck shifted on it's own ( I could tell by the dashboard gear indicator) into 1st gear. This caused my rear tires to lock up and put my vehicle into a skid.
When starting from a stop, after transmission shifts into 1st gear, going to 2nd gear, transmission will disengage into neutral and engine will continue to rev. After 3-5 seconds, transmission will reengage and shift thru the gears to top gear. This only happens while vehicle is in forward motion and only on an intermitant basis, eg, not all the time. Also, sometimes while traveling at highway speeds, the speedometer will drop to zero for 1-2 seconds and then back to the present speed. Another issue is that sometimes while traveling forward, the vehicle will suddenly act like it wants to lock up as though it was placed into park. I have also come to a stop and when trying to start to move forward, the transmission gear indicator says that it did not downshift to 1st gear, but tried to start out in 4th gear. After stopping and restarting to move forward, it would finally downshift to 1st gear. Sometimes, the transmission will not shift into 2nd gear until the vehicle has reached 20-30 mph and then it will go from 1st gear to 4th then finally thru to 6th and final gear. I took the vehicle to a Ford dealership and they could not get the vehicle to do these things. They did tell me that Ford had recalled 2011 and 2012 model f150's for a similar problem. They reprogrammed the computer in hopes that it would solve the problem, it did not. I was told by the dealership that the leadframe valve body may need to be replaced or rebuilt to solve the problem. I am affraid to drive the vehicle very far, fearing a possible breakdown on the highway. I have scheduled another visit with a Ford dealer to possibly have this rebuild done. The vehicle has 86,000 miles on it and they estimate a substantial cost involved to do this. Do you know if there is anyone else having this problem and is there a recall for this ?.
Transmisison has skipped or clunked into gear since the day I bought it byt dealershiup stated on every occassion that they could nopt replicate issue. This morning I started driving to work and the wrench tool showed on panel, speedomotor does not move from zero, and the transmisison is stuck in 5th gear. My VIN is not part of the recall and I want to know why? I cna not get on the highway, I nearly casued an accident in local traffic as starting in 5th gear from stop light everyone was having to go around me and I nearly got hit mergin into traffic even with flashers on. Also my trip meteres is all dash lines except for the miles driven last trip.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle began to shake as the speedometer and the gear shifter indicators started moving back and forth very fast as the vehicle began to drag as if the brake had been applied without warning. The contact pulled over, powered the vehicle off and back on. The vehicle was driven to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000. Sw.
Acceleration lag in a rolling or standing start. Most noticeable when stopped with truck facing uphill or slowing to a near stop and then slowly accelerating (slowing for a stop light that turns green as you approach the intersection). Once acceleration kicks in, the vehicle jumps as if the transmission has dropped from neutral to being into gear at increased rpm's or the clutch has slipped. Gear indicator doesn't show vehicle had ever dropped into neutral. If acceleration rate is increased from stop or rolling start, problem does not seam to occur. Problem was noticed from beginning of ownership and has been intermittent ever since (truck was purchased new in March 2015). Have not taken to dealer for diagnosis as it is intermittent, but talked to a non-Ford mechanic that had heard of other people noticing acceleration lag.

Transmission clunks in gear with light throttle, mainly 1 to 2 to 3rd and downshift 3 to 2 to 1.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. While driving 40 mph
he stated that the gear shift indicator disengaged when he came to a stop, which caused the vehicle to jerk hard. There was also an increase in the rpm, which caused the vehicle gear shift indictor to engage without warning. The contact stated the transmissions slipped out of gear would not accelerate. The failure mileage was 9,000 and the current mileage was 19,000.
