I was traveling straight at 70 mph on the highway. The uneven road surface caused the truck to begin to rapidly and harshly shake uncontrollably. I had to slow almost to a stop to allow the truck to stop shaking. I slowed down and switched lanes. A few miles ahead at 60 mph the same problem occurred. This is not safe at all.

Over that past few weeks I've been experiencing intermitent shaking caused by bumps in the road. It happens above 50mph when hitting inconsistencies in the road. I did some research and it seems this is a known issue refered to as the "death wobble". I havent experience full loss of control but I want this addressed ASAP. This vehicle is not safe to operate with this issue. Ford needs to fix this before people get killed.
The instrument cluster display (icd) of my 2020 Ford F-250 randomly goes black and provides no information. The display will randomly come on and usually go out again while driving. The display usually displays a warning that there is a fault with the blind spot warning system or cross traffic warning system before going out. I have also started to receive displays asking if I want to activate the cras avoidance system, but I can't make a selection even though the system hqs already been turned on. I also don't feel the vehicle braking when the crash alert warning activates like it once did even thought the brake assist is turned on.

I was traveling on a highway doing approximately 70 mph (speed limit). When I hit a bridge expansion joint the truck started violently vibrating to the point I was losing control of the vehicle. I rapidly decelerated and the violent shaking stopped after I slowed the vehicle to approximately 25 mph. The shaking was so violent I was seconds away from veering off the road into the trees. There is a technical bulletin from Ford about this issue, but it is not a recall. Someone is likely going to die for what is obviously a design and/or manufacturing defect. The technical bulletin from Ford on this issue TSB# 18- 2268. Nthis needs to be a recall.

On 1/21/2020 I was driving highway speeds on sh225, went under bw8, and the truck began shaking uncontrollably. It felt as if the entire truck was going to shake apart. I was almost in a wreck because the truck would not stop shaking and the steering was impacted. The dash, mirrors, seats, and literally everything on and in the truck was violently vibrating and shaking. Had to reduce speed to about 30mph and the shake finally subsided, after multiple cars could tell something was wrong as well - and they were seeing this happen from outside the truck! this has happened previously, to a lesser extent in December which caught me off guard and the issue subsided quicker than this time. Not sure what the issue is but it is extremely dangerous and could have seriously injured me or other drivers due to a loss of control of the vehicle. I have dropped my truck off at mac haik Ford in pasadena, TX. It is still under warranty - about 25k miles on the truck.
Driving down highway and sometimes when hit a bump truck gets uncontrollable shaking death wobble almost uncontrollable. Can't steer and almost didn't recover. Have had it happen 7-8 times now. Carried to Ford service part is on national back order 6-8 weeks .
Driving on interstate and the truck started a uncontrollable wobble. During the wobble I felt I had no control of vehicle and was moving out of my lane. Ford needs to do something immediately before someone gets killed I also tell a fifth wheel camper and I can only imagine having that kind of weight behind me that the truck would flip and possibly kill me or someone else on the interstate.

Starting at 15,500 my truck started the so called "death wobble" Ford has been having trouble with. This is my second new truck in 2 years with it and the problem doesn't get fixed. When hitting the slightest bump my truck becomes unstearable due to violent shaking. Ford of uniontown has seen the video of my truck doing it, their service technicians have also experienced it and the only answer I get is " be careful" and one service tech said when he drove it he was afraid for the people next to him. I need a truck, I have a business, I need this resolved and not at my cost again. Nor the lives of my family or someone else. I have video if I can upload it somewhere to show you. . Please help.
Upon reaching highway speeds(approximately 55-75mph) the front end began to violently shake. This issue started as mere off tracking of the front end, the truck would steer itself. This ended up progressing into such a violent shake that it drove itself off the road. I had no control over the vehicle, and steering control is gone. I wound up in a ditch on my fourth experience with this violent shake.
I am experiencing the death wobble in my truck. Driving typically above 60 mph, if I drive over a bridge expansion joint or if there are ripples or continuous bumps in the highway, I will lose control of my truck in a sever shaking. The only way I have doing found to fix it is to slow down, turn the vehicle off and continue driving.
I started looking into this issue to see if others have had it. It's called, the "death wobble". The Ford dealership knows about it but doesn't have a fix for it. It has been taken in and no repairs are needed. How come it's still happening?!?! they need to have a fix for this issue. I don't want to crash because the truck is wobbling so much! I think with the amount we paid for the truck this shouldn't be a concern but it is!!.

Driving on interstate at 75mph when my truck passed over small bump in road the truck started shaking uncontrollably, causing my truck to enter lane next to me. My wife and two kids were passengers when this happened and they were terrified especially since we almost crashed with the semi I had passed prior to the bump. The shaking finally stopped once my truck reached a speed of approximately 40mph. This happened earlier on same trip, however, I didn't think as much about it because I was going slower and it didn't last as long. The 2nd time made us feel our lives were in danger so we drove 10mph below posted speed limit to be on the safe side.
death wobble it started when my truck was a little over a year old at 24,000 miles. I was driving down the highway at approximately 60 mph, hit a bump in the road, and the vehicle started shaking violently and was uncontrollable. The steering wheel was shaking to the point where I couldn't grab it. The truck was all over the road. I slammed on the brakes and it quite shaking once I got down to about 25-30 mph. I have since learned this is a common issue, which scares me. Someone is going to get hurt. You cannot imagine it until you've experienced it. I've had my truck at the dealership twice and they have worked on it under warranty. The problem persists. I'm not one to complain, and I have been a huge fan of Ford vehicles my whole life, but this is a severe safety issue. There are several youtube videos to give you an idea what it looks like.
Have noticed my truck has been driving different, the steering has been feeling off. Well today I was going down interstate I-4 and went over a bump and my truck started shaking so violently that I thought I was going to crash into a wall. It did not do it once it did it 3 times. I could not control the truck. It was the scariest thing. So unsafe.
Death wobble. While on the interstate driving approx. 65 mph, I went over a bump (bridge expansion gap) and my truck began shaking violently. I had no control over steering and was in the middle lane of the 3 lane interstate. I began drifting to the passing lane as I was on a curve and could not steer my truck. I had to abruptly slow down to 35mph before the shaking subsided and I was able to regain control over my truck. This is a well-known and well documented issue with Ford and their superduty line of trucks. Its a shame people will have to die before action takes place as Ford will not openly admit to a fault. Their fix is half hazard and does not take care of the problem.

My father was driving the truck at highway speeds and all of a sudden the truck started shaking violently, it was very unstable . We have taken it to the dealership many times but the shaking is still there and it occurs at lower than highway speeds now.

Tl the contact owns a 2017 Ford F-250. While driving 75 mph, the contact lost control of the vehicle as it experienced the death wobble and shook violently. Also, the vehicle accelerated on its own. The contact and his wife had no control as the vehicle sped through three lanes. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not towed. The vehicle was taken to jim click Ford (6244 e 22nd st, tucson, az 85711, (877) 777-9263) where it was diagnosed that a steering damper needed to be installed. The vehicle was repaired. While the contact and his family were taking a road trip, the repair failed within hours. The vehicle accelerated in traffic and experienced the death wobble. The vehicle was repaired three times. The vehicle needed a shim installed because the original shim detached from the vehicle's body. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 3,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford F-250. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle accelerated out of control without warning. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal traveled to the floorboard and the engine revved. The contact placed the gear in neutral, slammed on the brakes, and turned off the ignition. The vehicle lost power and was coasted to the contact's residence. The dealer was contacted (simmons rockwell, 7327 NY-54, bath, NY, 607-770-7600) and stated that the vehicle was out of warranty and not included in a recall. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.
Accelerates when I am stopped and have my foot on the break.
At steady speeds of 45 mph and over the front end of the truck will violently shake after travelling over a pothole, or expansion joint, or other imperfection in the pavement surface. Ford is aware of this. This condition has come to be known as death wobble. The steering wheel will shake in my hands and becomes very anxiety provoking and eliminates my confidence that I can control the truck. The only cure once this condition starts is to slow down to the point that the steering wheel shake smooths out. I bought this truck new, and this condition has existed since day one. Ford claims there is no fix. This is unacceptable in any vehicle at any price.
Everyone calls it's the Ford death shake. It is very dangerous and after reading online there is several having the same issue you lose complete control of your vehicle when it happens hit a pot hole bump in the road or going over 50 mph I have wrecked my truck due to this issue and it seems thousands of people are having the same issue it is going to end up injuring someone very badly or taking someone life or others this is a big safety issue! and needs to be addressed and Ford take responsibility.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds, the vehicle intermittently hesitated upon depression of the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the hesitation was temporary before the vehicle resumed normal operation. The manufacturer was notified the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the VIN nor a warranty on the vehicle. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
Fikm, injectors, glo plugs, ipr, harmonic balancer, prv low oil pump, high oil pump, fuel filters all replaced between 277,000 and 290,000 miles ( 1st time on injectors and glo plugs at 277,000 miles on a 6. 0l 2006 super duty diesel)due to lack of power during acceleration between 65 and 75 mph more than once! spent more than $3,000. 00 to date to correct this issue and nothing has worked! Ford has some explaining to do, and it has baffled even one or more of their best mechanics, as well as the tow truck person that had to tow it at 10:00 pm this past week! now who is responsible????? we have owned this truck from new status to present and yes 290,000 miles on a 6. 0l diesel 2006. . Surprise! the vehicle was in motion when this issue happened. . . . On both city streets and interstates, and in the driveway with emer. Brake on and acceleration up to 2000 rpm's and it chugs and spits and sputters and then dies and won't restart until the next day! I can provide you several receipts, but I am not putting them online for all to view VIN numbers, etc. Any information will be greatly appreciated! all this trouble has gone on since April of 2016 to present. My truck is a work vehicle and has been a good one until now and has travelled well for 10 years old and 290,000 miles. I am currently stuck in georgia trying to fix this issue.
I just had purchased a 2008 Ford F-250 super duty. I have driven many different vehicles over the years and have never experienced something like this. The accelerator pedal and brake pedal are too close together and approximately the same level as well. I was putting on the brake to stop and it is too easy to keep pressing the accelerator pedal while trying to push the brake pedal. I have only driven it for a few hours to transport it, but it has happened four times in the first seven stops. I'm thinking there should be a fix or safety recall for this sort of thing. If this sort of thing is happening to new drivers, it is a potential hazard. I'm afraid to let others drive the vehicle. I was very fortunate. I almost crashed into a car and a post.
I was backing up in the parking area of my house in my 2008 f250 (diesel), and applied the brakes to stop and change direction. As I started braking, the engine started accelerating, even though I was applying the brakes. The vehicle kept moving backward, and I had to stand on the brakes and shift into neutral to get it to stop moving backward. After a few seconds the problem stopped. I then continued on my way. The vehicle had 37,060 miles.
Driving on the highway , complete loss of throttle but the engine was still running at a low amperage. Was able to pull off the road and turned it off. It wouldn't start back up right away. Had to wait a while it would start and limped it home. No problems for a few days, then it started acting up again. A couple times it would start, but at a low idle with no response of the gas peddle. The final straw was last week. I was driving on the highway to work. Each time I came to a stop, it would lose throttle. I was able to turn it off and back on to get going. Then at a major intersection of hwy 41 and 145, it wouldn't turn back on and I was in the middle of the hwy. I had to push it to the side of the road and it would turn but not start. I had it towed to my mechanic on Saturday and Monday when they got to it, after charging the batteries, it started right up and they haven't been able to get it to fail. . . When this happens, there is no oil pressure on the gauge. This is dangerous and potentially hazardous or deadly. I could have easily been injured or killed if I had been hit.

On March 2nd 2015, my 2003 Ford F-250 caught fire on it's own. No one was home at the time and luckily my neighbors called 911. This truck was recalled for a faulty speed control switch. The entire engine compartment was torched. This truck is not repairable.
