1 Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problem of the 2016 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 08/17/2020

While driving on us hwy 395 northbound at buckeye rd in minden nv it felt like the brakes were fading while stopping for red light. While stopped the truck was lurching forward and I had to forcefully step on brake aggressively to keep it from entering intersection. I put it in park while waiting for the green light and as I put in drive it revved up as it past reverse and slowed in neutral and revved again as it hit drive. It continued to lurch and jerk when putting it into gear as I drove it home from carson city nv. Thirty minutes into the drive home the check engine light came on which determined to be p054f (excessive fuel pressure). I called Ford twice and they assured me that the diesel truck was 5/100000, on the powertrain as well as the engine and since the engine light came on I had it towed to capital Ford in carson city nv(nearest dealer). The dealer called me advising that it was a failed torque converter at a owner pay of $4100. 00. I googled the problem and error code to find numerous people with the same problem on the exact same truck combo. 6. 7l w/torqshift6 trans. Ford issued a ssm # 45540 for the problem. One owner with the same truck over two months in the Ford shop finally got Ford to fix the problem even though he had 78k on the truck. According to a shop tech at beyer Ford in morristown NJ named keith browning stated on a thread (Ford truck enthusiast) that Ford has known about this problem with the 2016 f-super duty and f650-f750 since October of 2015. I have made four calls to Ford since 08-20-20 to 08-24-20 with a case # cas 27293338 and have not received a call or email back. Meanwhile the truck sits at the dealer who stated you will have to work it out with Ford. I will not drive it home as it is not safe. The torque of the diesel engine could over power the brakes launching me into an intersection or vehicle ahead of me. .

Failure Date: 01/01/2005

2004 f350 fx4 ext cab 6. 0 diesel torque shift speeds up while driving and at stop lights on its own. (once while backing) my dad will not ride in it any more and claims I am crazy for driving it. Harsh trans lock up at 45 after auto trans was dropped and updated with planetary bulletin at dealer. The trans deal I will continue fighting, but the mind of its own in acceleration is dangerous. Am currently packing a dealer computer with a panic button but have not caught the gremlin yet as it will go for a while in between uproars. I feel jilted being a test rat after buying a vehicle with a $46,000. 00 sticker price. And then there is safety. Will take the truck back tomorrow and tell the associate to pull the computer and wires and the next time he sees me will be with the truck on a hook or me alone with a lawyer after an accident. I know their trying, but the lack of trouble codes as well as the inability to repair the vehicle without them could be the end of someone?s life and or the destruction of property. (time at dealer so far aprox 2. 5 weeks off and on).
