The junk cab mounts deteriorate so fast the cab settles and crushes the wiring harness causing many electrical issues. There are many forums that talk about bad cab mounts and what components to use to repair them, but in my opinion this is a Ford issue.

As a Ford owner, I can vividly recall the 1980’s Ford acronym ‘fix or repair daily’. That comes to mind as my 2022 f350 platinum dually has been in the shop for one thing or another more times in 3 years than my 2015 chevy impala ltz has in 10 years. But I digress. The reason for this complaint is my latest malfunction on my Ford vehicle. As mentioned previously, it hasn’t been 3 years and yet another issue with my vehicle has come to light. My passenger roof trim has broken at the connection point, which of all things, was connected via rivet…beneath the rear glass. Apparently, this an extremely common issue among 2017 and up Ford super duty. There has been no recall issued. And Ford wants the vehicle owners to pay for the repair. It is an absolute horrible design. The plastic breaks often. And to make matters worse, the rear glass had to be removed to replace the trim. Most of the trim snaps in place but the very end, the end that is cheaply made and connected to a metal rivet, is so fragile and thin that after a few months of driving over american bumpy roads and being beating up the sun, it cracks, breaks lose, sticks up like a sore thumb, and otherwise detracts from the reputation of the Ford brand. My vehicle is still under the original warranty as I have only 22,240 miles, and I purchased and extended warranty with adds 4 more years. This needs to be remedied and Ford owners need to be compensated for monies spent to repair these manufacturing defects. My local Ford dealership states that if they break the glass during the repair that the cost of the new glass is my responsibility, even under warranty. That is so very wrong and alarming. The repair is $125, to be completed by an outside vendor. The dealer will not even tackle this repair. The connection point of the roof trim is a rivet. Why? the connection point of the roof trim is beneath the rear glass, which has to be removed inorder to repair the defective roof trim. Why? why make.

The frame at the leaf spring hangars has cracked apart at only 131,000 miles on the truck. This issue is becoming more and more common over the years it seems and comparable age trucks from other manufacturers are having this issue for the same age.
Driver and passenger traveling on [xxx] when white smoke came out of dash. Turned onto [xxx] and stopped. Driver and passenger exited truck and opened hood as smoke was becoming more visible and fire started from under dash. Passenger called 911while driver used fire extinguisher and attempted unsuccessfully to put out flames as they kept restarting. As the flames increased they heard "popping and banging" noised coming from the truck so they retreated to a safe distance and waited for the fire department. The fire grew to where the cab was fully engulfed in flames before the fire department arrived. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The front doors come open while driving down the road in cold weather. Multiple dealerships have to me to just deal with it. My children have to hold the doors shut while we are going down the road or I have to hold the driver's door shut while driving. There was a recall issued for certain 2023 F-350's regarding a door latch mechanism malfunction but apparently it doesn't apply to my pickup even though me doors don't stay shut while driving and multiple dealerships tell me there is nothing, they can do to fix it. When one of us gets hurt, falls off, or has a door hit by oncoming traffic, what am I supposed to do? the safety of my children does not matter to Ford motor company or their montana dealerships. It happens regularly, not just once. Speed is not a factor, I can be driving 5 mph or 75 mph when it happens.

Front doors will not close and latch when it is cold outside. Multiple dealerships have told me there is nothing that they can do to fix this issue. Doors will come open while driving if they don't latch. I often have to use a ratchet strap to keep doors shut from the inside while driving in cold weather. Apparently, according to Ford, I am a stupid girl that should just live with this issue and wait for my kids to fall out of my pickup.
2017 Ford F-350 with door latches that freeze. There are multiple symptoms which occur whenever the temperature drops below 32 degrees: (1) the door will not open when door handle pulled, (2) the door opens but latch sticks in the "open" position which does not allow door to latch closed, or (3) the door opens while driving due to not being fully latched. I have only had #3 happen once. Primarily, #2 is the scenario that happens most often. I am able to open the driver's door, but cannot drive the vehicle until I am able to exercise or warm up the latching mechanism enough to safely latch the door. This is accomplished by pressing the door lock/unlock switch repeatedly or slamming and holding the door, then pressing the lock button. I am told by the dealership that my VIN does not qualify for recall 17s33. It did qualify for customer service program 18n03, which was performed in 2022. However, the "fix" did not last beyond a month or so and Ford clearly states that 18n03 is a "one time only" repair. It seems to me that Ford knew back in 2017 (or before) they had problems with freezing door latches as this also occurs on the f150 and there have been multiple recalls that still have not fixed the issue. At best, this is annoying that a $75,000 vehicle cannot be driven until the door has been slammed, exercised, or manipulated enough times to allow the door to latch. This, of course, assume the door opens to begin with. At worst, this vehicle is a rolling deathtrap as the occupants wait for the door to suddenly open while moving. My dealer is no help. They lean on the "one time only" clause in 18n03. They have charged parts to my extended warranty without knowing if the part is bad or the cause of the problem, then smile as they tell me there is "no charge" to me.

For many months while attemting to slide open or tilt my sun roof the sun roof would jamb and not move. Then one day after I was able to get my sunroof into the tilted up position I was unable to get it to re turn down and sealed. Took my vehicle to the Ford dealer near me where they confirmed that the sun roof track had been severely damaged and would need to have the entire frame rail replaced at a cost of $6,000+. Upon researching online I have come to find out that many of Ford vehicles equiped with the panoramic sunroof have had this exact same problem and the primary cause of the problem was substandard plastic material being used in the track/frame design that fractures easily and jambs and breaks sunroof components. Because of this problem I was unable to close my sunroof subjecting my vehicle to water damages and forceing me to have the dealer fix it to avoid water damage at an exorbenant cost.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-350. The contact stated that the roof seam cover had lifted and detached. Additionally, the contact stated that while raining or washing the vehicle, there was water entering the headlight enclosures and the headlights became inoperable. While the vehicle was in park(p), the interior lights turned on without driver input, and turned off while shifted into reverse(r). There was no notification from Ford pass. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who informed the contact that there were no open recalls but diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the headlight assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

When driving my 2013 Ford 350 crew cab 4x4 6. 7 diesel with only 68,000 miles stock with original equiptment , I was driving to my chemo appt as I have stage 4 cancer and a mom of a young son the truck started a shake and the sterring wheel violently came away from my hands. It got so bad I almost went into oncoming traffic putting my sons life and myself and others in danger, I have brought this truck to local shop and they figure it out. This has gone several times. Its my primary truck. Im a widow and need a safe truck. I cant bring to dealer as they charge $150 hr. I dont have a extended warranty on the truck, no codes popped up on dash, Ford has many complaints with there trucks including the f 150 which I owned and it lived at the shop . Over $10,000 out of pocket and problem never fixed always can find issue. Something needs to be done before someone gets killed in a accident .

It had a tailgate recall, when recall first came out, they wouldn't look at it. It hadn't caused any damage, or wasn't bad enough. Then they didn't have the parts. Now when they have the parts, they will not fix it because it has to many miles on it. Well duh! it is a work truck. Causing major insurance claims. And I can't get it fixed?.
Truck's power door lock actuators are failing and fail to unlock the doors via remote or the interior door(s) electric unlock button(s). The only way to open the door is via exterior key (if you happen to have it accessible) or if you pull the vehicle's interior door handle, which then "pops" the door lock button. This failure is alarming as in the event of an emergency, access to the interior cab of the vehicle can not be gained from the exterior without a key. Similarly, access to the interior of the cab can only be provided when one squeezes, or pulls, the vehicle's interior door handle. If a driver/passenger is incapacitated for some emergent reason, there is no easy way to gain rapid access to the passenger compartment without extrication type equipment. From my on-line research it appears that Ford has had previous problems with this and actually acknowledge this through Ford customer satisfaction program(s) 20m04, 19n06, 18n03. Appreciate any assistance and insight you may be able to provide.

Driving down the road, no vehicles nearby or trees along road, the panoramic sunroof exploded. It was slightly bowed out and then fell into the vehicle in pieces. Thankfully no passengers were in the back seat, or they would have been injured by the shattered glass.
My 2022 Ford f 350 platinum truck came optioned from the factory with the Ford winch, and collision avoidance as well as adaptive cruise control. Ford has included the collision avoidance sensor in the bracket for the winch. Ford is aware that the bracket can be distorted by the winch which disables the collision avoidance, adapative cruise, and abnormal cruise creating a safety issue. Ford refuses to correct the issue.
6 of the 8 polyurethane cab mounts positions 1, 2 and 4 crumbled and fell out of the truck.

On 7/17/2022, while driving, the tailgate unexpectedly released. The tailgate was damaged by the trailer that was being towed at the time. The tailgate was damaged by the trailer tongue jack. The tailgate was confirmed closed prior to driving. No warning messages were displayed from the vehicle. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the dealer but I have an appointment on 7/27. Ford customer service was contacted, case #cas-37657604 was provided. Prior to the incident there had been several occasions where the vehicle would display a warning that the tailgate was open but inspection confirmed it was secured.
The tailgate for my 2022 F-350 has opened while towing several times over the last two months. During one of these instances, the open tailgate struck and damaged my fifth wheel recreational vehicle (RV) trailer during a low speed left hand turn. The area where the tailgate hit our trailer is the battery compartment for our RV. If this where to happen at a high speed it has the potential to cause additional significant damage to a trailer and potentially cause consequential accidents while the vehicle is in motion. There was an open customer satisfaction program opened by Ford associated with this issue and my vehicle's VIN (campaign # 21m05) in may 2022. Due to this alert, we brought our vehicle into a dealer in June 2022 (before towing our RV) and asked them to address this issue. At the time the Ford dealer declined to address the issue because there wasn't "a problem yet. " the damage incident then happened and we brought our vehicle into a second Ford dealer (we were then living in our RV on the road so unable to return to our original dealer). They agreed (in writing) that there was an unintended tailgate opening while we were towing that caused damage, however they indicated that they didn't have an approved repair procedure from Ford at that time. We recently found out that Ford has since approved a procedure (on approximately 7/22/2022) and again brought our Ford into a third Ford dealer for repairs (8/11/2022). Ford is willing to fix the damage to the vehicle associated with this accident, however, they have been unresponsive regarding the consequential damages to our fifth wheel RV (bay door needs to be replaced with an estimated cost of more than $1,000). The fact that this keeps happening and that the tailgate is able to open while towing / while the vehicle is in drive is a massive issue. What if this happened while carrying a load on the highway? there could be serious injury. For reference, my Ford case number 37688945.
On or around June 4, 2022 I was driving my truck and had my enclosed trailer attached. I went to put my trailer up in storage and noticed my tailgate had opened on its own. This has caused damage to my tailgate and is a major safety concern that the tailgate is opening on its own.
My 2018 f350, has a very violent shake when driving 60 mph and above, I was driving when I hit a dip in the highway and the steering wheel started shaking real hard, I felt like I was gonna lose control it was wobbling violently. I took it into the repair shop where they to where able to mimic the issue. This issue just happened out of know where, with no warning. . I can see easily how this will be a safety issue to any one having this same problem wile driving, and a safety issue for others driving next to me. . Ford has told me they are aware of this issue but have done nothing to fix this safety issue. .

In my 2018 f350, I experienced my power tailgate opening on its own. It happened when the vehicle was unattended and while the vehicle was in motion. I brought it to the dealership for the recall repairs to be performed on March 2nd, 2022 at 115k miles. I received the truck back and in the time since the recall repair was performed, the tailgate has opened, on its own, while the vehicle was in motion 3 separate times. One time I was towing, which caused the tailgate to ride on the tongue jack controls, a second time was without a trailer attached, but I had lots of gear in the bed which, thankfully, did not fall out and create a traffic hazard. I am planning on having the dealer reassess the repairs when I next bring in the truck for an oil change, but I am concerned that this safety issue persists after the repairs were performed.
Many times the tailgate has opened by itself. I ensured I didn’t bump the button and found after my drive that it had opened.
My tailgate has opened on its own three times or more since purchasing the truck new in June 2021. Few times while parked and locked in my drive way. Once while I was driving causing me to have to pull over on a busy highway to re-latch the tailgate to not lose my cargo in the bed which then could have came flying out and hit other motorists and/or caused an accident in which I would have been liable. I was not included in the recall 19v-864; and therefore my vehicle has not been serviced for this issue.
There has been intense rust and corrosion in the roof seams and welds. This has led to water leaks and damage to the interior of the vehicle. The integrity of the roof has been compromised, and I am concerned about the possibility of roof crush should there be an accident. Not to mention the mold, rot and damage to the interior and electrical systems I have already suffered due to the defect. On February 3, 2023, I contacted the Ford motors helpline and spoke to linda chikere (direct phone # 866 631 3788 ext 79781) to discuss the issue. Linda created a request for a buyback and assigned a case number of cas-41160178-b4n9r8. She also requested that I send photos to lchikere@Ford. Com and visit the local Ford dealership so they could assess the vehicle and share the information with her. I was able to make an apt for Feb 6,2023 @ 10:50 with grant lee @ envision Ford of oxnard. When I arrived for the assessment, grant did one walk around the vehicle (he did not inspect the roof at all) and then said he couldn’t help me as he this was a Ford issue, and they were a franchise. I contacted linda with follow up from that meeting, as well as photos of the vehicle. About two weeks after this apt. Linda said the case was closed. I am extremely disappointed with how this case was handled, especially considering the significant investment I made in purchasing and maintaining it my vehicle. When I made the original investment I was told that the engine would last up to a million miles…but never imagined the body would be worthless at the 300,00 mark. There is so much damage to the roof that I currently keep my vehicle parked instead of using it.
The tailgate continues to open randomly while driving or backing up the truck. The recall for this was completed but the issue continues to occur. Most recently this caused $525 worth of damage to my 5th wheel camper and $450 worth of damage to my tailgate. This is very dangerous and should be addressed by Ford immediately.
The tailgate has been malfunctioning since day one and I had it kind of working here and there but then it ended up coming apart completely and the backup camera has been lost due to that and I just seen that that is a problem that they've had with many of these vehicles and I would love to get that fixed. Also because I do not have no backup camera on this truck it's just crazy. I mean I use it for work and I pull a lot of trailers and it was just you know. I don't even know what to say. I would please love it if somebody could help me get these problems fixed with Ford. I have tried and tried to no avail. I think they're trying to wait for me to get many many miles on my truck. I started trying to get this stuff fixed when I was back at $65,000 mi. You know and they was will not fix nothing. I realized that the door had water in it way back then and they just won't fix it. The tail lights do the same thing. My number is 984-303-2866. Thank you.
The truck tailgate opens unintentionally and with no notice. This has happened several times, seemingly randomly, and there is no notice from the driver seat that the tailgate has opened, other than visually looking via rear view mirror or from the outside of the truck. I am not able to reproduce the malfunction, as it happens randomly. So far, it appears to happen mostly when parked and/or when switching between park/drive/reverse. I have not positively confirmed the tailgate opening while the vehicle is in motion, but definitely have noticed it was open while driving after pulling into a parking space, reversing out, and then continuing to drive. The vehicle is available for inspection anytime. Luckily, this malfunction hasn't caused any damage yet, but if it were to happen while towing it would damage the truck and/or trailer, and if it were to happen with a load in the truck bed, I'd be at risk of losing the load, potentially unknowingly while driving. No indications or warning lamps are present when the tailgate opens on its own. I first noticed this happening in June 2021, but didn't think much of it. It happened again in August 2021, and then happened several times during the day of sept 4, 2021.
Tailgate opened while driving on interstate, this has happened two times in the last 2 months. I have already had the recall repairs done for this issue but it is still happening. The Ford dealer can not find a cause. There is no way to know when the tailgate has opened until something falls out of the back of the truck and other driver alerts you of the issue.
The tailgate randomly opens. Sometimes the instrument cluster will give a warning. Today, the tailgate opened while towing a small utility trailer and struck the trailer damaging the tailgate.

My truck went straight into the rock wall damaged hood fender, bumper, headlight bezel and lights driver wheel, and when diagnosed the original problem it was the steering gearbox failure.
