Tail gate on the pickup came down on its own while driving and was damaged. This was a recall item on the truck, that we had completed by Ford just prior to incident. The recall did not work, the tail gate still came down on it's own while driving. Ford is refusing to cover damages.

The driver's side door rattles. I brought to my home dealership twice with no luck for them to diagnose. I brought to a 3rd party Ford dealership, they diagnosed the problem and replaced the seal/gasket liner around the door. 2 years later, the same issue has returned. I brought to my dealership where I currently live twice with them stating they could not retrigger the noise, although it's very audible any time the truck is driven. Priced me $500 to correct, even though I have an extended warranty that apparently covers nothing. Not sure if it's connected to the door latch issue or not, but a clear wind audible noise is heard anytime the truck is driven.

I was driving on the highway and was going over an overpass where there was construction and hit a bump in the road. The truck started vibrating and swerving out of control. My fear was that I was going over the bridge! I was afraid to hit the break for fear it would make it worse. So I took my foot off the accelerator and as I slowed, I finally gained control of the vehicle. This is the second time this had happened to me in the last 2 weeks while going over an overpass and hitting a bump in the road. I am unsure what would have caused this to happen. I have never had this happen to me in any vehicle before and I have been driving for 34 years. I will not drive this vehicle!!! it is a death trap!!!.
Before purchasing the truck it was never disclosed to me it was in accident or a tree or something fell on it the roof/ back window was leaking I told them (dealership), when it rains or when it snowed the water leaked inside the truck, I was backing up to put small trailer on it and it bumped the back window and it shattered, called safelite in ontario to fix window, found out the back window was full of bundle, they wouldn't fix it cause it had so much bundle in it, safelite stated that the truck was in wreck and it was repainted and whoever had it before I purchased it fixed it and sold it, I called a few other places and they won't fix it either cause that same reason, I would have to take it to a body shop. I talk to the dealership where I got it from and they told me there was nothing they could do about it. When purchased the truck on the driver side in the door there wasn't a sticker there that is supposed to be there, it's no stickers in none of the doors it's been in the shop every other week and something has to be fixed. Since truck was purchased it's been in the shop several times, it seems like since beginning of November 2019. I have spent more money into getting the truck fixed than driving it. I feel like I'm being treated unfair and taking advantage of for what they sold me this truck for and it has all these problems. I purchased this truck for work (own business) and can't get the job done and pay payments on time if I don't have a proper truck to get the work done.

Doors will not close, open, and or come open while driving usually on below freezing temperature days. This has happened while stationary and driving while making a turn drivers side door whipped open fortunately there was no oncoming traffic. Moisture in door latches freezing is the problem. Unfortunately there is no way toknow if the latch is fully engaged while in motion. Also circumstance can occur that leave you locked in vehicle with only escape thru a window. Ford has called this repair customer servive advisor 18n03. However this has been a ongoing problem with for vehicles for several years and Ford keeps putting out repairs that are often ineffective.
Doors on truck will not latch as they freeze in the cold weather. This has been an ongoing issue since 2019. I have brought it to the dealership and they say there is no recalls. I have to use a ratchet strap to keep my door from opening! this is extremely unsafe! when you go under Ford’s site there are other trucks having the same issue and they say to go to the dealership to fix the issue. I have copied the info below: description door latch freezing concerns campaign# 18n03 next steps contact your local dealer for next steps.
Previous complaint #11160684. I took my new F-350 to framingham Ford for a "frozen" door latch on 1/17/18. They followed Ford recall 18n03 for 2017-18 models. I picked it up on 1/19/18 and the door would not latch again! it had been dry for three days. I don't think it is necessarily a frozen water issue. It might be something to due with cold. It was dry and cold, around 22 degrees both days the latch would not engage.
This is a 2019 F-350. The drivers door latch froze. I could not close the door until the truck warmed up and thawed. The weather and truck were dry and cold. It had rained two days earlier. This should not happen in 2019.
Ford f350 uncontrollable steering oscillation beginning around 12/3/18 @ approximately 20,000 miles on truck I began experiencing vibrations in steering. Reached out to dealer from where vehicle was purchased new 1 year earlier. Reported issues and was informed its a known issue but could not be seen till January 15,2019. On 12/16/18 while merging lanes on highway(approx. 60 mph) steering wheel began shaking uncontrollably causing vehicle to swerve lane to lane. Control was able to be regained only after slowing to minimal speed(assuming 20 mph or so). Incident caused all immediate traffic to stop. Vehicle was driven into breakdown lane . Upon exiting vehicle ,a witness to incident also pulled over . As a owner of a 17 f250 he informed me of what is called deathwobble which he had experienced in prior months. With information a second dealership was contacted ,with there response being they are aware of possible causes but could take it immediately. Vehicle was delivered on 12/20/18. Diagnosed with a TSB 18-2268/06-22214. Repairs will be made, however parts are back ordered till 1/29/19. Truck was deemed unsafe by dealer an was recommended not to drive. As of 1/5/19 Ford customer manager has been brought into case ,whom also stated they were aware of possible causes of incident yet reassured me she would be able to expiate parts. This appears to be a known problem on commercial weighted vehicles with the ability to lead to catastrophic damages to unknowing owners an general public.
The entire body of the traffic is speckled with rust . The electrical system has the same issues that we have taken to the dealership repeatedly with automatic start and they cannot fix it also it tells us other things are wrong that or not . We keep taking it back but they keep telling us it's fixed minutes not.
Rear window of standard truck cab blew out explosively scaring the driver and almost causing an accident. Tempered glass is a menace in this application. Dealers think lexan is illegal. Happened while driving on fed highway with no other vehicles around.
I was driving down interstate and sunroof glass blew out.

Bed rails are rotting prematurely causing safety concern when truck is towing or there is weight in the bed of the truck I feel that this may cause a safety issue for passengers in the truck as well as other motorist on the roadway. Truck was parked for 2 days since last driven in my driveway 5ft from house. Went to work at night in my other vehicle, came home and started to get my kids ready for school. No visible signs as I passed it on my way into my residents. About an hour later next thing I know a passing off duty fire fighter is banging on my front door, as I go to meet him I see my truck engulfed in flames. Truck is a total loss with fire protruding from hood and fenders reaching into the cab. Fire department finally put flames out after minor damage to other near bye vehicles. Looks as fire started under hood near master cylinder. Truck was repaired by Ford for recall in 06 due to cruise control switch. It appears the same problem persists in new switches or repair was not done properly. Just contacted Ford today about this issue as it just happened Feb,2 2016. In the process of obtaining vehicle service records as I have a friend who works for Ford. Clearly the fire originated from the same area as earlier recalls. 2001 Ford F-350 vehicle speed control NHTSA campaign #06v286000. I have pictures and video of the incident but cannot upload due to file format.

On March 31, 2015 my truck was damaged for the second time due to tread separation on a bf goodrich – all terrain t/a ko, lt 285 / 65r20 tire (dot be3f uh11 0912). My truck is a black 2012 Ford, F-350 super duty, fx4, lariat. 1. While driving on I-10 traveling ~67mph I felt a sudden bumping of one of my tires before I could reduce my speed and pull over to the shoulder to get off the road the tread separated from the tire causing damage to my truck and barely missing other vehicles I was passing on the road. 2. As I reduced my speed and while pulling over to the shoulder of the road, the tire blew out, I was able to keep my truck under control and made it to the shoulder of the road so the tire could be removed safely.

I was driving a f-f350 sd crew cab pickup truck with a truck shell top approximately 65 mph when the left rear tire tread began to separate from the tire cord, resulting in the tread thrashing (approximately 6 revolutions) the interior and exterior of the left rear quarter panel causing extreme body damage to the wheel well, bumper, upper truck shell sliding window. This was a very violent explosion when the tread finally separated and flew off the tire cord. I then stopped the vehicle, assessed the problem, retrieved the tire tread which remained intact, also in one piece. . . ! amazingly, the tire cord remained intact, still pressurized and holding air. . . And I was able to limp home at approximately 30 mph. Went to the Ford dealership, who were not initially helpful pointing the finger to b. F. Goodrich, who I did called and I received a return phone call the next day. I then went to the dealership again, who removed the tire, and preserved the tread and tire, and I was instructed by the b. F. Goodrich representative to ship the tire for inspection to their offices. The initial inspection at the Ford dealership was found to be inconclusive. . . As to whether or not the separation was caused by a road hazard, which it was not, and then I was told I would have to ship the tire to them for further investigation, and whether or not they would provide reimbursement for the $3-$4k in body damage to my truck. Preparing the tire for shipping to b. F. Goodrich and waiting on the status of the remainder of my body damage claim.
On the evening of 6/13/2014, I was driving my 2008 Ford F-350 through the drive through line of white castle in commack, new york, 11725. As I went to make a right turn to follow the drive through lane, a heard a metal breaking sound followed by complete loss of steering. Within less than 1 second from this happening, my vehicle collided with a cinder block wall causing significant front end damage to the bumper, fender and headlight. There were no injuries to myself or any passengers as well as the wall had minimal damage. I had a police report filed with the suffolk county police department. The report corroborates my statement of complete steering loss as the direct result of the accident. The vehicle was towed to my mechanic, north shore firestone in commack. Upon investigation they determined the gears inside of the steering box completely failed. They could be of further assistance detailing what the internals of the steering box looked like if needed. They also informed me there is a 2 month back log on the replacement for this part. Being that there is a replacement backlog, Ford must know there is a design flaw. This part needs to be redesigned to stand up to the difficult task of getting white castle! this failure not only caused damage to my truck costing over $5,000, but this will cause my insurance to go up as well. If this causes me to be dropped from my insurance, I will have major problems being that all of my jobs require me to have transportation. Please have Ford fix this problem so no one else is involved in an accident. I was lucky I was going at a low speed, but the next person may not be as lucky as I was.
