2 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2016 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 11/12/2019

Started my 2016 f350 super duty 6. 7 diesel on a freezing morning and drove to work. At lunch I started the vehicle and about 3 miles into my drive a slow speed the check engine light came on. I went to a local auto zone for engine code diagnostics and the reader showed code p20ba. This code indicates there is an issue with the emissions def scr fluid heater - emissions related. I have not had the opportunity to take my vehicle to a Ford dealer as they are completely booked for service calls. I searched the internet and found a recall for this issue in prior year models of the same vehicle years 2011-2015. There is no indication of a current recall for the 2016 year model so will likely have to pay upwards of $1200 (search information indication) to get this emission repair completed on a vehicle with ~60k miles. Since the body style and engine changes for this Ford super duty model did not change until 2017 I'm hoping this recall will be extended to the 2016 year models as this seems to be an ongoing issue with other owners. The recall I am referring to is Ford customer satisfaction program 18m01. The attached picture milage is not represtetative of this vehicle, the vehicle has about 60k miles on it. Thanks for your consideration.

4 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 09/28/2019

On my 2115 Ford f 350 powerstroke diesel the check engine light came on and it DE rated the power. I read the cel code and its pb20a which is a redactant heater performance failure. This problem is covered under warranty for all models 2011-14, f250-f 550 and 2015 f450, f550 only. Ford isn't covering the f250 of f350 in the 2015 years. My truck meets the date and manufacturing plant criteria and it is no drivable because of this emissions control part failure. The redacdant heater keeps the diesel exhaust fluid from freezing and renders the vehicle un drivable when it falis.

8 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 03/13/2016

I have a f350 2015 vehicle, having an engine knock noise and hesitation problems right after the engine knocks. I have experienced these concerns five times. The dealership is saying is a characteristic of the vehicle due to California regulations. There is a TSB to the concern that I am having, but I don't think my vehicle should have the heads rebuilt since I just purchased it back in Dec 2015. What is the state doing to have this concern resolve? I brought it in two days ago to the dealership and since after the 4th time of the engine knocked the check engine light came on they ended up replacing a sensor. I picked up the vehicle from the dealership yesterday and on my way home, the engine knocks to happen again. I am waiting on fmc to call me and tell me what they are going to do now. The vehicle has two other problems a windshield noise at 60 to 70 miles per hour on windy days. They resealed the windshield the problem exists. They are telling me, that unless they duplicate the issue, they can't do anything. I showed them a video that I recorded during the concern happening, but they are ignoring it. I showed them a video that someone else posted on you tube same concern. However, since they cannot duplicate they cannot do anything that is their answer. I also have a problem of the transmission, harsh shift as slow speeds same thing can't duplicate is what the work order from the dealership states. What can I do to have this vehicle looked at for the concerns I am having? it has been in the dealership four times since I bought it.

9 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2006 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 04/03/2015

Purchased this vehicle less than a year ago and was originally very pleased. Suddenly we are now experiencing the death wobble as other have described. The violent shaking of the front end. This usually occurs when you are approaching the speed of 60mph. We do not have to hit a bump for it to happen. The other complaint, is that we bought this truck with very low mileage for the year, ran great, looked great, very pleased until this last month when the check engine light came on and it seems to sputter. Put some high quality fuel injector cleaner in the truck, thinking it may be a injector sticking. Nope, didn't fix the problem. Light never went off. Took it to a dealership, they tested it and came back with your fuel tank is deteriorating putting little metal shards in your engine. You are looking at a potential full engine rebuild costing a minimum of $6000. This is unacceptable for any vehicle manufacturer to not recall a vehicle that has a serious known problem. We are stuck with this truck that is not worth the damn paper the title is written on. It is tiring of reading all these similar complaints and no one is defending the consumers. At what point, does the manufacturer need to be held responsible to own up to the faulty equipment and fix the problems? when my child is killed because of the inability to control the vehicle due to the steering problems in the front end or that it stops running in the middle of the highway or downtown traffic because the fuel tank deteriorated for no reason and destroyed the engine.

11 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2008 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 09/30/2014

Exhaust temperature sensor will cause a crash that may end up killing someone. This is what failed on my wife who was pulling a 28' horse trailer with her show horse inside worth over $30,000 dollars. She merged to a one lane road on interstate 68 in maryland heading down hill when the check engine light came one soon to follow with a message of pull over safely. 20 seconds later, the engine shutoff. This caused her to lose power steering on a one lane road going over a bridge down hill pulling a horse trailer with a gross weight of over 10,000 pounds. She had no where to pull over safely when the truck shutdown on her. She had to get out of the truck in order to move the barrels blocking the right lane in order to try and get the truck and trailer out of the open lane. She had to block an exit in order to make room for the other vehicles. The truck went to the Ford dealership in cumberland, MD where it was diagnosed that it was the exhaust temperature sensor. This is a safety issue on this vehicle. At no time should a vehicle shutdown on someone driving it. Believe it a vehicle going into a limp mode but at least you can still drive it so you can get to a safe place. There needs to be an investigation into why this occurs and enforce Ford to issue a recall to fix this problem before someone is injured or killed.

12 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2008 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 09/30/2014

On September 30, 2014, my wife was on her way to columbus, ohio in her 2008 Ford f350 super duty turbo diesel truck (VIN# 1ftww31r68ea85755) with 44,000 miles. She’s pulling her 2014 26’ lakota two horse trailer with living quarters with her show horse in the back. The unexpected happen while she was on MD-51n near cumberland, maryland heading across a bridge with heavy traffic at 1230pm. The check engine light came on with the following message “pull over safely”. Twenty seconds (20 seconds) later, the truck completely shut down. Wife was traveling at 70 miles an hour when the truck shut down, which turned the power steering off. This is what I call unsafe for anyone, especially when pulling a 26’ horse trailer with an extra 1000lbs in the back with a horse. She was not able to get completely off the road which almost caused a major accident due to the vehicle shutting down on her. After sitting on the side of the road waiting for aaa to come tow the vehicle for over 1 ½ hours, the vehicle started back up and she drove it to Ford cumberland, 10335 mt savage road NW, cumberland, MD with the check engine light still on with a police escort since the sheriff of cumberland sat with my wife on MD-51n waiting on aaa. This is after she was almost hit by a fedex eighteen wheeler due to not being able to get to a safe location for a truck and horse trailer due to the vehicle shutting down on her. The dealership found the problem: exhaust sensor. They were able to repair it and she was able to continue on with her trip. How can this sensor go out on a truck with only 44,000 miles on it? how can they design a truck to shut down automatically without any warning? the dealership told my wife they have seen these sensors go out at 20,000 miles before. Needs to be address and recall issued before someone dies on the highway due to this problem. Hold Ford accountable.

15 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2008 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 11/03/2012

Ford f350 with 6. 4l diesel had check engine light (cel) illuminate while driving. Engine immediately slowed to idle (800rpm) and would not respond to throttle inputs. Was not able to clear roadway and blocked traffic on busy urban road. Dealer was "not able to find anything wrong", yet "performed calibration update on pcm". I was informed "this needs to be done as vehicle ages and sensors wear. " reviewed owners manual and did not located maintenance interval for "calibration updates to pcm. " I am certain this is an inherent pcm software code error leading to complete loss of engine operation. A dangerous situation on congested roadways.

21 Check Engine Light On problem of the 1999 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 05/22/2006

I am the owner of a 1999 Ford F-350 diesel super duty truck with duels. While driving, the check engine light will come on intermittently. When this happens, the truck will not accelerate. It's still running, but you can't go any where. Pressing the gas pedal is useless. Sometimes the light will go off and acceleration is restored. Other times, I have to steer the truck over to the side of the road and either put the truck in park which will sometimes make the check engine symbol disappear or turn the truck off and restart it. This makes for a very dangerous situation where I am at risk of being rear-ended. I am very fortunate not to have been in an accident yet and pray I won't be. Please help or point me in the right direction to get help! thank you!.
