1 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2008 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 01/17/2018

The power steering pump started making a noise. The reservoir was empty. I filled it up about 100 miles later. Steering wheel started having a lot of play in it before turning the wheels. On the way to the dealer to have it checked out, lost all power steering. I had to call a rollback to carry it to dealer. This is a 2008 f350 with approximately 38,000 miles on it. Dealer informed me it will cost me $1500 to replace the gear box plus $75 towing. I feel like this is a factory defect and Ford motor CO. Should pay for all repairs. I need advice and help to resolve this complaint.

2 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2005 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 11/25/2015

I was driving on a two lane back road around 45 to 50 mph, and my truck started violently shaking and I lost all control of steering. I went into the oncoming lane, luckily no one was coming, and had to hit my brakes hard to get the shaking to stop. It has also happened while driving at speeds of 35-40 on a city street and 60 mph on a highway. This is known as death wobble. The wobble was so bad that it loosened the track bar and the bolt holding the power steering hard line. I lost all power steering fluid within seconds. I have researched it, tried replacing several parts, like tie-rods, and it has lessened a little bit, but if I hit a bumpy road or even just a patch of new pavement, it starts shaking. I have read a lot of other Ford owners are experiencing this same issue with their trucks.

4 Lose Power Steering problem of the 2011 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 09/10/2011

I was driving the truck away from a traffic light. When the truck reached approximately 20 mph. The engine shut down completely. I lost forward motion, steering control and braking power. I was able to wrestle the truck off the road and into a parking lot. This is a Ford truck powered by a 6. 7 Ford diesel engine. , the truck is generally used to tow a 13000 pound fifth wheel. If I had been towing the fifth wheel, the outcome would surely have been a disaster. Problem turned out to be a totally failed bosch cp4-2 high pressure fuel pump. The pump slowly fails. As the pump travels the path to total destruction, the operator has no warning that the engine will suddenly die. When the truck quits, the operator has lost power steering and power brakes on a 8,500 to 23,500 pound vehicle.
