The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-350. While driving approximately 5 mph, the windshield wipers activated and failed to stop until the vehicle turned off without any warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact also stated that the failure recurred five times. Moon roof shattered while traveling on a paved highway on a clear day at approximately 45 miles per hour. I heard a loud noise similar to a gun shot and I first thought a large rock had hit the vehicle but I could not see any damage. I was approximately 200 yards behind a tractor trailer rig which was not a gravel truck or an off road type rig. The next day I noticed a piece of tinted glass in the bed of the truck and climbed into the bed and noticed the moon roof had shattered in an outward direction. A large quantity of broken glass had fallen down and were laying on the moon roof inside cover. If I had not had the cover closed at the time of the breakage, I could have been cover in small pieces of broken glass with potentially a different outcome. This is the second incident I have had this year with a shattered moon roof. In mid October, I was driving a 2014 Lexus es300h and the moon roof exploded with a tremendous noise, also in an outward direction. I was going 70 miles per hour and was not in a construction zone nor was I in any traffic. Again I did not have the cover open and no glass came into the vehicle. I will also add this complaint to the database as a separate complaint.
