Clutch pedal won't raise. At rest when pushing in the pedal it goes to the floor and will only raise about an inch. When disengaging, the clutch slips. Appears to be a failure of the clutch slave cylinder. This occured at about 66,000 miles. I had it repaired and after fewer than 5000 miles it's happened again.

While driving on a onramp I shifted from 3rd to 4th gear and the clutch pedal was then stuck to the floor and did not come back up, I had to manually pull it back up. While driving down city street I shifted from 2nd to 3rd and the clutch pedal once again stuck to the floor and had to be manually pulled up. All fluids are topped off and not above the maximum line.
The clutch pedal gets stuck about an inch off the floor after being depressed at seemingly random times usually in the warmer weather months. This has caused me to lose the ability to change gears and loss of ability to accelerate. It does not come out of this position until I physically pull the pedal off the floor. I have had incidents where I have been stuck in the middle of an intersection unable to move where I have almost been hit by oncoming traffic. This is not an uncommon issue and is noted in many Fiesta st forums.

Clutch pedal will stay stuck down in manual transmission 6 speed. Intermittent, but repeatable (not every time but doesn't seem to stop happening) prevents car from moving forward when this happens. Clutch is disengaged while this is occurring. Can happen whether shifting stopped or while in motion. Lifting on the clutch pedal by hand (or foot) will reengage the clutch. Has happened when shifting from 1st to 2nd in an intersection, could not proceed under power in any gear till manually (awkwardly) reaching down and lifting pedal while traffic approaching me.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. While driving 40 mph on an incline, the vehicle failed to accelerate. Also, while at a complete stop, the vehicle abruptly jerked and gradually accelerated when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact refrained from driving highways speeds out of concern that the vehicle would lose acceleration and crash. Wyatt johnson Ford (646 thompson lane, nashville, TN 37204, 615-244-3615) was contacted and diagnosed that the clutch and transmission failed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 100,000.
After 45000 miles the clutch pedal started to get stuck on occasion. At 47000 miles the transmission failed with the clutch pedal stuck all the way down in traffic and the transmission was leaking fluid. It ended up being the slave cylinder that needed replacing. Given that I do not drive a lot this failed outside of warranty while many other have gotten it replaced under warranty as it appears to fail on 2014 models between 40000 and 50000 miles.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 25 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle failed to accelerate. On 9/20/18, while stopped at a busy intersection for a red light, upon attempting to move forward when the light turned green the car simply would not move. I placed the car in park, shut it off to restart thinking it would reset itself somehow and instead not only would it not restart but the gear shift would not move out of park so that I could push it out of the traffic. I had to call the local police to wait in the road with lights flashing at the intersection to avoid being rear-ended and until the tow truck could arrive. The "engine malfunction" light comes on so often (which usually gets a "reprogramming" at the dealer) that it has become unnoticeable, but I do not recall seeing it before becoming immobile. It was taken to a local Ford dealer, where they said it was covered under the extended warranty Ford issued (tcm part, I believe). This car has approximately 70,000 miles on it but has been in the shop for "warrantied" repairs involving reprogramming, throttle, gas pedal sensor, clutches, etc. On many many occasions. In the past, I have taken it in complaining about the returning light and when it has shuddered and lost power momentarily while attempting to enter traffic on the interstate (once even as a tractor trailer approached). Traffic has had to shift lanes to avoid hitting my car. It has shuddered in intersections and onramps before, but never became completely immobile without recovery. If this isn't a safety issue, I don't know what is. I cannot experience the fear and helplessness that occurred last week again, so two days later I went and purchased a new vehicle (not Ford) and accepted a huge loss on the trade-in value because I value my family's safety and my life far more. My many services have all been through Ford and are available in my service record at Ford.
I am the 2nd owner of the vehicle. This car had no known issues until 6 mohts after purchase. I purchased this car in March 26, 2018. Car stutters when accelerating, when I first push the gas pedal the car acts as if I’m push both the gas and break it doesn’t know if it wants to go or not the rpm revs up really high but the speed doesn’t change. At a red light my car began acting funny when the light turned green the car was hesitant to go it was having trouble shifting and accelerating the check engine light came on the next day and the code came back for a clutch sensor I have a dual transmission Ford Fiesta the car wont turn over sometimes and has trouble stopping. When I am on the highway and I have to stop at a stoplight my engine warning light will come on and the car will idle rough.
I own a 2011 Fiesta with 130000 miles on it. As everyone is aware, they have transmission issues. I have had the tcm reprogrammed 5 or 6 time since purchasing the vehicle and replaced a clutch. They extended the warranty to 100000 miles but my clutch was cleaned in 2016 at approx 95000 miles before it was the standard for them to replace the bad clutches. Last September, at 120000 miles, iwas driving down a main road when my clutch quit working working while I was driving and stranded me in the middle of a main 7 lane road, wouldnt even go into neutral. I'm lucky there wasnt an accident with how suddenly it happened, after fighting with Ford for two months I had the clutch replaced in November and had to pay 1300 for what to me seems a major safety concern. Now less than a year later my other clutch is going out and again I'm outside of the 100000 mile warranty. I know 3 people personally who are also having g the same issue after having there clutch cleaned and then passing the 100000 mark. Ford has produced a car that failed in the middle of the road, will just quit working and will lurch forward and you are braking or when you are just starting to put gas on the pedal. I have personally experienced all of these issues and more(like my automatic vehicle revving and then starting to roll backwards down a hill while I'm pushing on the gas). I would like very much for Ford to be help responsible for this and have to extend their warranty past the 100000 miles. This is a known issue that they have tried to hide, then avoid and it is definitely a safety issue. I'm hoping someone can help with this.
When starting to accelerate, there is no power. The transmission then kicks back and it goes flying over 4000 rpms before it will shift. While driving, it will randomly give a slight kick and lose power, despite not increasing or decreasing pressure on the gas pedal. There was a class action lawsuit regarding this, I then got it "fixed" under warranty (total replacement of the clutch assembly) but the problem still persists. I have contacted the dealership I bought it from, and they will not return my calls or emails. I contacted Ford and they will not take any responsibility either. I bought this car only a year ago and the kbb value has already dropped to less than what I still owe, presumably in part due to the lawsuit. I am at a loss for what to do now. Not only am I financially hurting because of the constant trips to the shop and the loss of value, meaning I will never get out from under this car, but I am legitimately concerned for my safety and my life, and Ford doesn't care. I do not want to continue to drive this death trap but as it's worth far less than what I owe, I can't get another vehicle because my funds are wrapped up in this one.

My vehicle starts shrugging & shivering when I push on the gas pedal. The shiver is at times too hard to control and can't focus on driving. This has been the fourth time with the same clutch issue and the dealer says I got to live with the problem until they get a new clutch ordered which is 21 weeks from now. I have a kid at the back seat and not comfortable to drive.
Car jerks and shudders uncontrollably. Lurches into intersections after coming to a stop when clutch fails to disengage. Unpredictable speed. Does not accelerate onto freeway. Jerks violently when taking foot on or off gas pedal. Dangerous and terrifying. Replacement clutch has been ordered by dealership and is backordered 3 months. They must be recalled before someone dies.
Vehicle shudder shakes and fails to accelerate when pedal is depressed, typically in first or second gear (6 speed auto transmission). Transmission control unit has been reprogrammed several times, clutch was replaced, control unit reprogrammed again. Issues continue. Vehicle loses acceleration in intersections and poses a risk for rear-end collisions, cannot smoothly accelerate which could cause issues.
My car never accelerated reliably, especially in lower gears. The transmission would constantly shake and shudder. My wife finally refused to drive it anymore after the car repeatedly responded exceedingly slow to her pressing the gas pedal when trying to cross traffic. She would be stopped, waiting to cross traffic. When there was a long break in traffic, she'd press the gas and car would crawl ahead much more slowly than you'd expect with how far she pressed the gas pedal. Oncoming traffic would then catch up to her and have to slow down until the car eventually made it across. This happened multiple times when I owned the car. The date I note in the "when did this happen" field represents the date I had the first clutch repair done on the car (at 18,756 miles).
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. While driving approximately 30 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle shook violently and jerked forward without warning. While the brake pedal was depressed on an incline, the vehicle drifted backwards and crashed into a tree. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5 mph, the vehicle jerked and hesitated when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch assembly, fuel assembly, plate cylinder, cylinder assembly and transmission fluid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 7,000. Jo.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. While driving various speeds uphill, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle moved very slowly. Also, when parked on a hill, the vehicle would roll backwards without warning. The dealer could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was included in a recall and the clutch was replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified. The NHTSA campaign number was unknown. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The automatic Ford Fiesta experiences a very loud grinding/scraping noise as soon as it starts coasting (as soon as the foot is off the accelerator), regardless of whether the break pedal is applied or not. This happens regardless of the speed at which it is travelling. Initially took the car to a reputable mechanic who indicated the noise was coming from the transmission and recommended I go to the dealer since the issue might be covered under the car's warranty. The first trip to the dealer for the noise resulted in a replacement of the dual clutch. The second trip to the dealer for the noise resulted in a reprogramming of the pcm/tcm module. The third trip to the dealer for the noise resulted in being told this is "normal". The noise abated after the dual clutch replacement and reprogramming of modules, but quickly returned (within days) and grew louder than before. The noise is so loud that it can wake up neighbors when driven through neighborhoods and makes it difficult to have a conversation in the car.
My daughter took her car in for repair end of July 2014, due to very bad shuttering, shaking, acceleration and brake issue. Dealership claims they reset the computer that speaks to the transmission. I had her take car back about 10 days later due to the same issue. They claim there was nothing wrong with vehicle that she needs to drive at least another 1000 miles so that computer can register her driving habits??? I drove her to work the following Friday and as I was leaving uphill parking structure the car felt as it completely stalled out, I had the pedal floored and nothing and then out of nowhere the car jumped and accelerated forward. Luckily there were no cars in front of me I would of definitely hit them. I drove vehicle straight to dealership and asked salesman to take for a test drive. He stated that there was clearly a problem and he would have gsm call me by the following Monday. Tuesday comes and as my daughter was driving to work she was involved in an accident due to the car not accelerating so she floored it and unfortunate for her hit the vehicle in front of her. I called salesman back and he said he would call me back, 3 weeks later no phone call from salesman or gsm. Accident occured on 8-19-14 then we received a letter postmarked 8-26-14. Customer satisfaction program claiming they have extended her warranty on clutch and transmission input shaft salsas well as the transmission software calibration for a total of 7 years or 100,000 miles whichever occurs first. To date still have not received call back from salesman or general service manager. Vehicle needs to be recalled. . . . . .
Transmission grinds, hesitates and has trouble shifting at low speeds. Sometimes the transmission has a slow reaction to the pedal and jolts forward after the delay. In stop and go bumper to bumper city traffic this can cause issues. I've had the clutch assembly replaced twice but could have had it done 5 + times at least. It's too much trouble to constantly have to get it fixed at the dealership. After the dealership fixed it both times its good for a few thousand miles then problems start all over again.
2014 Ford Fiesta se with about 15,000 miles started having shuttering problems that are extremely violent and could cause loss of control and is thought to be a safety concern to driver and others on road. I have owns this car since brand new from the dealership. I started having problems with the powertrain around 14000 miles. The problem is a severe shutter problem when you accelerate. The only way to stop this problem when it is happening is to let the gas pedal out of give it a lot more gas. This can happen at any speed from 5 mph to 50 mph that I have experienced it. The shutter jerks the driver forward and backward very forcefully. I took the car in under warranty and was told that the this is normal and sent back home. At 15000 miles I took the car in and they said the dual clutch seal was leaking and therefore ruined the clutch. They replaced all parts and called to say it was complete. They left voicemail, and when I called dealership back they said the new parts had broke while on the test drive and they had to order exact parts again. Dealership took another few days to fix and then I received the car. Now Feb 2015 car is doing exact same thing and has 24000 miles on. The shuttering is a safety concern as it could result in my wife or I loosing control of the vehicle when it does this at high speed. I do not understand how this does not cause a safety violation? thanks for your time.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. While driving various speeds, the vehicle shuddered while making a turn. The contact also stated that the vehicle stalled after making a complete stop. When the contact depressed the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would not accelerate. The contact took the vehicle to dewey Ford (3055 se delaware Ave, ankeny, IA 50021, 515-963-9575) where the clutch was replaced three or four times; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fiesta. While waiting at a red light, the vehicle spontaneously accelerated and rear ended a utility vehicle. The contact depressed the brake pedal down to the floor, but the vehicle kept accelerating on its own. The contact opened the driver side door and ran to the sidewalk. Directly behind the contact was a fire truck and the occupants witnessed the entire crash. The contact was advised to leave the vehicle and the fire department was able to turn off the engine. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact also stated that the tipm was replaced twice. The first time was by huntersville Ford in huntersville, north carolina in August of 2015. The second time was by salisbury Ford in salisbury, north carolina in August of 2016. The huntersville Ford dealer also replaced the clutch twice. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 67,378.
2011 Ford Fiesta aka black turd of death. 5 times in the dealer for transmission problems. Bad shuttering on take off. Started at 18,253 miles and now at 45,015 still does it. Worse when turning cause it will try and stall out. Gas pedal is not responsive when this happens. Contacted Ford and was told by the dealer there was nothing else could be done. That I need to get used to it. The clutch has been replaced didn't make a difference. Transmission has been flashed 5 times. But never test driven afterward. Just told it was normal. University Ford will not even give me copies of my paperwork. Said it was in the mail.
On 02/27/2015 my Ford Fiesta with 20,904 miles was taken in for a trasmission issue that became potentially life threatening. When my wife approached an intersection to make a left hand turn and came to a stop the engine began to shutter and bog down. The idle picked up but the engine almost stalled. When traffic cleared my wife attempted the apply pressure to the throttle pedal but the vehicle only moved forward at about 2mph. With more traffic headed toward us (35mph zone) about 50yards away. My wife lifted to her foot off the throttle to apply again, the car suddenly lurched forward with my wife's foot off the pedal. The same issue happened while driving on windy mountain roads. The vehicle will become hesitant the lurch or bog down. We had this vehicle in for the same fix on 09/09/2013. The dealership took the vehicle on a road test and diagnosed the trasmission needed a software upgrade. The cars trasmission still had minor problems that the dealership stated as "normal". The diagnosis of my vehicle now is that the clutch needs to be replaced but a road test wasn't even done to the vehicle. A Ford "specialist" diagnosed the problem with a computer stating he could only get the engine to shutter. I don't understand how a proper diagnostic can be done if the car is not driven on the road. The dealership service department cannot tell me when the vehicle will be fixed and told I can pick the car up and drive it until the clutch comes in. Obviously not caring about the customers safety and the fact we told the service department about the potentially deadly situation that occured a rental vehicle was not offered cause they feel the car is safe to drive.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate and jerked. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, and the computer that controlled the clutch was reprogrammed but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at 30 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to stop. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle vibrated and jerked. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer multiple times who diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced and the computer needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired . However, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000.
I purchased my 2013 Ford Fiesta 3 weeks ago with 37 miles on it. My first incident happend at approximately 620 miles where the car started hesitating when I would attempt to accelerate to pass a car on the highway and occasionally when pressing the gas pedal to accelerate from a stopped point. The car now, with 750 miles sputters and jerks and lunges, as it seems has been a very common problem for these cars for a few years now. I took the car to the dealership last Saturday after it happend a few times. They told me there may be a leak in the transmission clutch, but ultimately came back saying the transmission needed an "update" and they processed that. I picked the car up. On the way home, it was much worse. It jerks almost everytime I pull away from a red light/stopped position. It is once again at the dealer. I spoke with the dealer service manager. He tells me this problem is more common with the Ford focus and that he really feels my transmission needs to be "worn in" until 1500 miles and that they will look at it, but likely not do anything. . . That I basically need to drive the car and deal with it. I am extremely concerned for safety reasons to drive this car. I feel that I just bought this car, it should not have problems like this. It also was not disclosed to me on test drive/prior to purchase about this "new" double clutch auto manual transmission. . Which I feel is a disgrace to Ford and their products. I am waiting for the dealership to call me and tell me it's "fine" and see what the next step needs to be. . Because this is a problem!.
Transmission grinding, lurching, rpms reving, slow to respond to gas pedal depression, rolls back at stop on incline, brakes went bad at 25000, tires went bad at 28000, transmission clutch replaced continues to have issues.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while driving approximately 10 mph, there was a delayed response when the accelerator pedal was engaged. The failure recurred two times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the transmission clutch was replaced. The vehicle was not repaired for most recent failure. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000. The VIN was unavailable.
