1 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2014 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 08/04/2025

I’m reporting a failure with the transmission control module (tcm) in my 2014 Ford Fiesta. The vehicle has exhibited consistent issues tied to the known powershift dps6 transmission defect: including gear slipping, delayed acceleration, hesitation, and sudden loss of power while driving—particularly dangerous during intersections or merging situations. Ford previously issued customer satisfaction program 14m02 to address this issue, but I was told my VIN is no longer eligible due to build date. I also requested coverage under Ford’s one-time tcm replacement extension announced in 2023, which was meant to support customers outside the 10-year window through June 30, 2025—but I was denied this assistance as well. I’ve opened a formal case with Ford customer relationship center under reference number cxh05170436-n7z6z1, after being denied support for a documented transmission control module failure. These symptoms present a clear safety risk, and the refusal to support a documented transmission failure—even under goodwill— I hope this will be reconsidered for safety investigation.

4 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2015 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 06/21/2025

The transmission control module (tcm) on my 2015 Ford Fiesta was failing at 81,000 miles. It was difficult to accelerate the car even at low speeds (25-30 mph) and my check engine light was on. I took my vehicle to the nearest Ford dealership (big star Ford in manvel, TX) who assessed my vehicle and determined the tcm needed to be replaced. They replaced the part but told me it was not under the 14m02 warranty. My check engine light did come on once back in may and the car was struggling to speed up but when I took it to a car shop the check engine light was not on and the mechanic said it was fine.

5 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2014 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 04/09/2025

The vehicle has experienced ongoing failures with the dps6 powershift transmission system. Symptoms included slipping between gears, failure to engage 6th gear, jerky shifting, and bucking during acceleration. A transmission warning light appeared multiple times. These issues occurred daily and worsened over time. Eventually, the vehicle became unsafe to drive—it would over-rev, buck violently, and lose power during traffic conditions. A retired Ford senior master technician confirmed the issue is consistent with a faulty transmission control module (tcm), which is covered under Ford’s customer satisfaction program (csp) 14m02. Despite this, the dealership refused to replace the tcm. Instead, they replaced a speed sensor and returned it to me. The vehicle broke down again within minutes and had to be returned. The dealership has now suggested dropping the transmission for further inspection at a cost of $2,500, rather than honoring csp 14m02. They also encouraged me to trade in the vehicle instead of repairing it. The tcm failure has not been resolved, and the vehicle remains unsafe to drive.

The tcm was defective. It has been known that the tcm, transmission control modules are defective for Ford Fiestas and focus. My daughter was driving the car and it stalled. If she was in heavy traffic are making a turn when this happened she could have been seriously injured. Ford said that they fixed this issue in the 2015 editions, that's why they stop the recall for 2016 models, but they really did not fix the problem. The vehicle was taken to a Ford dealership in wisconsin and they confirmed all this information to me. And eight hundred dollars was paid to fix a problem that is on a recall for most models except the 2016, because they supposedly fixed the problem.

The codes pulled from the car were p06b8 and p0606. These codes are well know with the Ford Fiesta for failure of the tcm. There is an extended warranty coverage for 2011-2015 Fiestas that should clearly extend to this year as well. It has the same transmission. Ford claims they corrected the issue with new parts. The part number on the cars pcm matches those of the extended warranty. The warranty is to extend to 100,000 miles or 10 years. The vehicle meets both those requirements. 24 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 07/03/2023

The dual-clutch transmission on this 2012 Ford Fiesta has ceased to shift gears correctly once it heats up after driving briefly, and becomes unable to shift in reverse. The engine also seems to occasionally be overspeeding between gears. The transmission control module, though recalled, is functioning properly and has been determined to not be the source of the issue. A similar problem occurred approximately the week before this issue began when the transmission control module (tcm) began throwing faults. The tcm was reprogrammed and the car functioned normally for a week before the issue seemed to recur. When brought to the nearest dealership, they determined that the tcm was not the cause of the issue. The vehicle has well under 100k miles. The nearest dealership thought that shift fork b was frozen, which caused damage to the clutch. A second opinion from another mechanic said that this was a common problem with the 2012 Ford Fiesta. I contacted Ford customer care and was advised that the VIN of this vehicle was not included in the 2012 service update for these same issues. However, since it is displaying the issues addressed by that service update and is under 100k miles, it may need to be.

25 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 07/02/2023

On a relatively short trip I experience problems with the automatic transmission. It was not shifting properly. Downshift from high gear to low gear way to quickly. Rpms up above 2500. Also too many rpms at stop; had be sure to hold down brake. Very poor deceleration. Danger to merger. This happened one day before we received "customer satisfaction program 14m02" from Ford. Which offered to replace tcm. Before contacting Ford dealer took to my mechanic who confirmed condition and said unsafe to drive. I then called ruge's Ford in rhinebeck who said part is unavailable anywhere in united states. They are going to continue to try and locate a part.

26 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2016 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 06/24/2023

I was in michigan and my car, which had been in great shape, unexpectedly failed to start after sitting for two days. After jump-starting the battery, the maintenance light turned on and my display showed a transmission malfunction. So while I traveled in my car to columbus, unaware of the potential danger that my car could catch fire and explode because it couldn't shift beyond third gear, I stopped at autozone for an inspection where the man informed me about a specific error code called p0606. The car dealership, holmes motors, was well aware of the issues with my car because we had informed them about another defective Ford Fiesta they had in stock. However, they made a deliberate decision not to reveal any of this important information to me or my family. I’ve been had problems when my car failed to start after refueling last year. One of the two main issues I've encountered with them. Firstly, they advised me that they had repaired my vehicle; that was not the case. Secondly, they never upheld the warranty and argued that my recurring issue was not eligible for coverage, after they just worked on it. The other Ford Fiesta that we saw coincidentally ended up being my ex-roommate's car, and it still had the same problems. At aacmo in columbus, they confirmed that my dual clutch assembly transmission had malfunctioned and overwhelmed my tcm. This exact same incident was also mentioned in the lawsuit filed against Ford, and from numerous people who faced the same issue. I’m stuck in ohio with insufficient funds for repairs or a replacement, which means I have no way home and zero source of income to sustain myself. It sucks that the entire burden of repairs falls on us while these companies neglect to accept any accountability for their faults. Has not been brought to the manufacture yet. If there is any other actions to help assist in my situation, please feel welcome to contact me. Thank you.

My car was built in may of 2016 which leaves it outside the recall date per this article which forced me to cover all the costs: customer satisfaction program 14m02 https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2022/mc-10226944-0001. Tcm has now faulted twice on my Ford Fiesta. My Fiesta was built 7/9/2015. Ford extended its warranty on tcms for their Fiesta models to 10 years 150,000 miles for Fiestas built between 11/3/2009 and 6/30/2015. My car is out of the extended warranty build date parameters by 9 days, however now already needing 2 tcm replacements it is apparent my car does have defects and should be covered.

33 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 01/08/2023

No incident yet but can smell burnt clutch only 58,000 miles it's the dual clutch for dp6 transmission I think is the name of the transmission , if clutch fails while going up hill and hits the vehicle behind you because all of a sudden your car is not moving . Not related to 2011 Ford Fiesta , but girlfriends 2014 Ford focus with around 58,000 miles on it ,mileage is close to my miles , transmission has problems transmission and engine light came on , code said actuator a is bad , but from what I've read on the internet that when transmission and engine light both come on it says bad transmission control module . Her car is 2014 Ford focus , going to call dealer tomorrow, her extended warranty expired in August of last year . I have also read that Ford has extended warranty on tcm to 10 years . We are not wanting to take it there an have them tell us transmission needs replaced . I've owned Ford's all my life never seen so many transmission problems with a vehicle as Ford has with this dual clutch transmission. I used to be a mechanic all my life , I rebuilt transmissions for 14 years never seen any Ford problems like these transmissions are having . If we are told her transmission is bad that will be the last Ford's I'll ever own , transmission replacement is 7000 to 8000 dollars to replace when Ford knows this transmission has problems , not really fair an owner has to spend that kind of money on something that Ford knows is bad from the year 2011 to 2018. Thank you for your time.
