Transmission has failed.
My car transmission doesn't work properly, the info screen displays transmission troubles ,I tried to accelerate the car on drive and goes to 10 mph and doesn't change gears. This happens when I first turn the car on, going on a city street, after the car is turn on for more than 10 or 15 minutes then it works better but the message on the info screen still shows transmission failure, or trouble shuts.

The car constantly surges forward at dangerous speeds and won't slow down even when slamming on the brakes. This has happened over the years but is happening much more in the past year. This is a very dangerous problem. There were several occasions when I narrowly missed slamming into the car in front of me. I've also been thrust into a busy intersection. You must force Ford to recall and replace these dangerous dps6 transmissions before someone dies. They and you have known about this problem for many years and have been putting more than a million car owners and others at risk. Please do something now! while it has been happening over the years, the most recent near collision was in a busy intersection in chicago on July 8, 2019. Thank you. The transmission failure warning has gone on numerous times over the years and causes the car to slow to 5 mph until the computer is reset.
I was driving on a road, approaching a 4way intersection; the car engine stopped. The screen stated transmission failure. Service immediately. My car restarted and the screen cleared. I proceeded on and within approximately 100 yards the screen repeated the transmission message. I then turned around to return to my home as the dealer was closed. I attempted to contact Ford motor company. But it was Sunday. Monday I again called and was told that I had extended coverage on the transmission, to take it to the dealer. I have had repeated work on this vehicle's transmission since I purchased it in 2015. I have not been charged for these repairs, but the inconvenience and the potential for failure of the vehicle have not been addressed. I had slid through the intersection when the car came to a stop. Luckily there was no oncoming traffic.

On a cold morning car failed to start and transmission failure came on display. Ford replaced trans module and said my battery was starting to get low. Two weeks later the same thing happened. Car was again towed to dealer who said I needed a new trans module. I informed him this was second module in two weeks and that there must be something else causing the problem. He said there was nothing else. I then found online where Ford has painted the surface where the ground cable from the battery is attached. A youtube video stated the cleaning the surface of paint, applying di-electric grease and re-attaching cable would cure the issue. Have completed this and haven't had an issue since. Ford needs to recall all units to fix this issue.
Car lunges forward while stopped at intersections. While on a highway in traffic rpms remained high after the transmission failed to downshift for approximately a mile. While attempting to accelerate the transmission doesn't shift up and just doesn't go. Rolls backwards down hills while trying to go forward and makes a clicking sound. Car has a really bad shutter when rounding curves and turning corners and occasionally follows with the car not accelerating. Has been to Ford to be checked once already and was told it had nothing wrong with it and has a second appointment next week. I've only owned the car for 9 months and have put less than 10,000 miles on it. Sometimes the car feels like it will stall out while trying to shift up. When the car is parked can hear clicking in transmission as it rocks excessively on level ground. Car also appears to have no power when pulling into traffic from a stop and has almost been involved in several accidents because of this.
There have been multiple instances that my transmission, while in motion, has stuttered, stalled, or been completely unresponsive. In low gears, the transmission sounds as if it is grinding metal cans. When my car stutters or jerks seemingly out of nowhere, my lights and dash will flicker as well. Both my Ford dealership and Ford itself has told me these safety issues are normal and to be expected. Twice I've almost collided with semis on the highway when I was unable to get up to speed properly due to the chugging and stuttering. There are thousands of complaints on this issue. I've already had my clutch and seals replaced once, to no avail. This is the first vehicle I've bought and I'm scared for my safety. Ford and my dealership won't take responsibility for these hazards and insist that I'm not driving my car right. The grinding, stuttering, stalling, and outright transmission failure has been occurring for the full 7 months I've had the car. If maintenance invoices are needed, I do have access to these.

Driving on the freeway going normal speeds the "transmission failure" message popped up on my dash and the car started viscously jerking. The car had trouble stopping as if the brakes couldn't function properly cause the transmission was out. My car would fiercely jerk forward when I was coming to a stop that I then noticed I had to stop further back than normal in fear of the car jerking forward to hard and hitting the car in front of me. When I finally parked and was ready to go to a well lit area the car started up perfectly normal and the transmission failure message was gone. Took it to Ford and they couldn't understand the severity of the issue due to the fact that the car basically "fixed itself. " I then asked them if it is going to take someone getting into an accident for them to recall the transmission on this car and they only told me "there's nothing they can do about it". They saw an issue and told me it would be approx. 3 thousand dollars to fix the car is only 2 years old. Ford also told me the car isn't safe for me to drive on the road. Yet they don't see that as a reason to not recall the cars to get it fixed since I'm positive my car isn't the only one that has done this. I guess myself almost getting into and accident and causing injury to myself and others is not a good enough reason for them.
