3 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 05/20/2020

Car won't start due to electrical issues in battery junction box. Transmission slips and stops engaging when driving due to electrical issues in the battery junction box. Car stalls when driving due to electrical issues in the battery junction box. Issues happen while driving in city traffic, almost was hit from behind at a light when the car stalled. I believe this should fall under customer program 17b16, stating: reason for this program in the affected vehicles, an opening between the bjb and its cover could allow water and debris containing road DE-icing salts to enter into the bjb. This could result in corrosion inside the bjb for vehicles operated extensively in us corrosion states. Corrosion in the bjb may cause a variety of symptoms including loss of function of exterior lights, vehicle stall, vehicle no start, or loss of function of interior lights. I called and was given case number cas-27331475 and they told me my VIN was not affected, but obviously it is. Please help make this right.

It is downright dangerous.

11 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 04/24/2019

Since I bought this car used, I have had nothing but issues that are seemingly related to Ford's dps6 transmission and electrical wiring. My gears slip out of place and my car doesn't seem to want to accelerate or slow down properly. My horn and front windows don't work and we've tried switching fuses and checking the door wiring. In relation to the transmission, I was on westbound i4 outside of downtown orlando around 2:00 4/24/19 (my birthday) and my car accelerated forward as I braked, which made me hit the car in front of me. There were no codes, no lights, no warnings on my car and it's under 100,000 miles. I was as a result faulted for my accident which skyrocketed my insurance. We spent money fixing the damage from the accident, not realizing that Ford has been lying about their transmission. I bought this car used and have had it for less than a year and, the person who had it before me drove it as a work car. I attempted to bring my car in on 7/19, as I found an article from detroit free press about this problem saying Ford dealerships would be able to attend to the issue. I called three dealerships and one hung up on me and the other two said that they couldn't help me. I do not feel driving safe in my car at this point as Ford is dodging the issue at hand. I am a 21 year old supporting herself and I cannot afford to fix anymore issues that happen because of this insanely unbelievable error from Ford.

14 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2016 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 11/09/2018

The car will not start properly after refueling. You have to press on the gas several times and then the brake to start it. When it does start, you need to rev the engine a couple times to make sure it won't die again. The transmission is now slipping and drops to neutral while driving at any given time. It happened to me twice this morning while driving on the interstate. When it finally gets back into gear, it lurches forward. This morning I was nearly in an accident because of this new development in a 2 year old car. I will never buy a Ford again, this is too dangerous for anyone valuing their lives.

18 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 07/24/2016

Transmission constantly slips. Transmission surges and stalls daily. The transmission actually completely went out 2 days after purchase and was replaced - the transmission never worked properly. This car was in for service on 4 occasions and left service with the same or worse symptoms. Earnhardt Ford in chandler, az stated it was fixed each time and pretended they did not feel the slips, surges and stalls when test drove with me after service each time. I was told there was nothing more they were going to do. **I do not have service dates with me at this time - the date in "when did this happen" is a guesstimate of the time around servicing.

19 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 02/02/2016

When car is stopped or driving the transmission feels like it is going to slop. Feels like it is going to stall. Went t dealership and they said this is normal. This is not normal. Jerks and feels like chocking when driving or stopped. When accelerating jerks and feels like the transmission slips and isn't shifting. Went to dealership several times and they will not look into this. Looked online and noticed several forums and other people having the same troubles with the car. Needs to be corrected as it is a safety issue. Expressed. Concern with dealership that it was having troubles that it was either the transmission but looked at me. Like I did t know what I was talking about because I'm a chick.

20 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 12/23/2015

The transmission slips, shudders and makes very unusual noises, I've had the clutch in it replaced just a few months ago and 2 weeks ago it starts the same thing all over again only now it's making a grinding noise when I start off until I get out of second gear, on occasions I could be stopped at a red light and the car would't even go, it's very difficult dealing with Ford on this matter because they need to keep my car and leave me with nothing to drive, they refuse a rental car. I have to drive my car many miles with my 7 year old son in it and it's not safe at all.

22 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2014 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 01/08/2015

When the car is stopped in traffic and I push the pedal to accelerate and there is a delayed reaction. When the car finally does accelerate, it does it in a "hopping" motion. When the car gets up to 20mph, it starts shaking and doesn't stop until I accelerate even further. Sometimes the car has acceleration problems at higher speeds, but most frequently has acceleration problems at lower speeds. It feels like the transmission is slipping and sometimes the car is jerky while driving.

23 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 12/12/2014

Automatic transmission slips and does not shift smoothly. The Ford dealership has worked on it twice without repairing it. It is in for a third time and the plan is to replace the same part they replaced last time. The problem began at 10,000 miles and reoccurs every 10,000 miles. Though the car remains under warranty, this is a dangerous situations that needs to be corrected by Ford immediately before some one gets killed.

Today the transmission is slipping and shifting through various gears randomly. It has no acceleration power from a stop. I am afraid to drive the car. The car is very dangerous to drive and they need to recall these cars.

Now they say it is the clutches. Ford has the part, on back order. I have asked, for a new transmission. The Ford area manager said no. The think there needs to be a recall of the cvt, on 2012-2014 focuses and Fiesta.

Failure Date: 06/03/2013

Transmission slips, chugs, grinds, hesitates, jerks, fails to accelerate and bogs out each time before slamming into gear, jerking the car forward quickly, then fails to decelerate when engaging the breaks causing very near rear end wrecks. On highway at 55-65 mph, car is unable to down shift properly. The vehicle has been brought to the dealership 5 times and I'm told it's how I'm driving the vehicle, nothing is wrong. After 5 visits, Ford dealerships will not see the vehicle. Simply telling me "if I don't like it, trade it in". The car is worthless, and therefore "trading it in" would be throwing more money away.

33 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 06/03/2013

While driving at normal speeds ranging from <25 mph to highway speed (65 mph), grinding and rattling sounds may be heard from the 2011 Ford Fiesta dual clutch automatic transmission. This behavior has continued with no solution since the middle of 2013. Accompanying these noises is light vibration while driving and instances of transmission slippage under acceleration leading to delayed acceleration in instances where power is needed.

34 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 04/21/2013

I'm writing about our 6 month old 2013 Fiesta, 11,000 miles. I love it except the 6 speed automatic transmission. Most of the time the shifting is smooth, but there are periods of time, say a day or two, that it shudders going into first gear, then second. The other day I was starting up a gravel driveway (uphill), and the transmission finally engaged right about halfway up the driveway, and I almost ran into the house I was visiting because of the surprise. It's almost as if the transmission is slipping. To me, this is a safety issue. Both my wife and I feel very uneasy about this and don't think it should be called normal. We had the 10,000 mile inspection, complained about it then, but they didn't find any problem - but then again, it was Saturday afternoon. An analogy to this is an athlete getting ready to run at the start line. If he stumbles, he may trip and fall, and for sure will not do well in the competition.
