Power Steering Pump Problems of Ford Flex

My wife started having problems with her 2012 Ford Flex power steering last week. The mechanic installed a new pump but that did not fix the issue. The mechanic then searched the NHTSA database and found a recall notice for 2012 Ford Flex vehicles (steering power electric system). However, the local Ford dealer said our VIN was not included in the recall. I am hoping that enough other people have had a similar problem so Ford will address this issue. The Ford dealer and the local mechanic agreed that my wife should not be driving the vehicle due to the difficulty with making turns. Please let me know if others have reported this issue so we can address it with Ford.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Flex. The contact stated that the vehicle could not be started. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the power steering control module and the fuel pump relay module failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the vehicle would be placed on the recall list. The failure mileage was approximately 81,000.

Car just dies in the middle of driving and the steering systemlocks up. There has been a known recall for a fuel control module on Ford Flex, there is also known fuel pump problems with Ford makes and models. I have lost power twice. Had at the mechanic last month. Could not get it to die for an entire week in the shop. Now it is dead in a parking lot again.

Breaks and rotors have been worked on 3 times within 1 year by carmax. In addition, bearings have been replaced. Additionally, the vehicles computer module failed. Also, the fuel pump.
