The transmission in my 2015 Ford Focus has had numerous transmission control module updates ( tcm ) which the dealership kept saying would fix the problem which it did not in most cases made it worse. The dual clutch has been replaced 4 time's the throw out bearing, and the shift motors for the fix to last between 10,000 to 15,000 miles and the vehicle clutch being replaced again. At the last visit to dealership was advised the clutch need replaced again but was advised it was not under warranty now because the clutch used at last replacement was the latest revised edition that had a 10,000 mile warranty through the dealership to contact Ford customer care and open a case up to see if Ford will warranty the repair. Was advised to take the vehicle back to the dealership and give them the case number issued by Ford. The dealership called later that day and advised that my car was ready for pickup. After arriving at the dealership the clutch had not been replaced was advised at that time it did not meet the requirements of the shutter file number to warrant replacement but it did a week earlier when the vehicle was at the dealership. At the current time the slip's on acceleration. Jerk's and shake's with sudden acceleration from a stopped position. Hill assistance works sporadic to keep the car from rolling backwards when pulling out on a hill. The car at times will not want to upshift or downshift when it need to causing you to have to pull off the side of the road and put the vehicle in park then it will shift correctly from a few days to a couple of weeks. Then the same problem again. But I'm told by Ford and the dealership there is nothing wrong with the car now after I got a case number from Ford on the transmission. The car currently has only 75,000 miles and has still not been fixed by Ford.
Car will hesitate to accelerate leaving you to press the gas harder than needed at times and could cause an accident. Sometimes car wont shift into the correct gear. While driving with cruise control set my car will rev up to 7,000 rpm and stay there for a few seconds. I have multiple videos of this happening and im told its not bad enough for Ford to cover it under my warranty because it doesnt meet their requirements for a repair. They have replaced the clutch as well as tcm. A total of 3 transmission repairs and now im passed my warranty so they wont cover the diagnosis. Ive had it looked at multiple times and was told its not bad enough or they cant find anything wrong at all. And my videos arent proof enough even though you can see my cruise is set and my speed doesnt change but my rpms are all over the place, nor is it possible for me to make my rpms stay consistant at a rate. Very frustrating to buy a brand new car to have these issues continue to happen and get horrible has mileage.
Numerous transmission problems. Stalling when pressing on accelerator and lurching forward when not pressing on accelerator often are main issues. Transmission clutch and and tcm replaced previously under warranty without successful repair. Most recently my vehicle at 83,000 miles was diagnosed as needing a new clutch again and Ford refused to cover repair because my vehicle was built after their warranty cutoff date and I was charged almost $2,700 by Ford dealership to replace clutch (documentation attached). Not even 1 week after receiving vehicle back from Ford after repairs vehicle began exhibiting same issues which usually progress as time goes on. I felt unsafe in the vehicle after so many repairs and having to pay for the most recent transmission so purchased a new vehicle instead. I can also provided documentation if needed from all the previous repairs by Ford.
Took my car for tcm repair - dealership found another sensor issue needing to be replaced 4 days later transmission fault service now and hillside assist unavailable errors came on. When accelorating from a stop the car has a hard time shifting gears. Car is back at dealership but the mechanics and service director say they have never heard of such issues. It is all over the internet(over 4971 complaints) about Ford Focus transmission issues.
12-2-2016 purchase date. Purchase was delayed because sandifar's had to take it to a dealership for transmission repair. Clutch pack is what I remember being told. 1-26-19 break down. Driving to work on a paved county road and got a transmission overtemp error (it was in the teens temperature-wise outside with snow on the ground). Transmission would not function for several minutes, then would only go a mile or 15 before overheating again. Finally gave up at the diner at highway 9 and highway 26. Had it towed (paid $200) to hubler/dellen/mccoy/whatever in muncie. Had to rent a car for two days (I had it for more than 24 hours). They replaced the transmission control module under warranty and charged me $430. 96 to replace the clutch actuator. As far as I can tell it still slips. September 2019 receive letter from Ford. Had some work done at adams (across from work in kokomo). They mention the clutch seems to be slipping. 11-11-19 to it to brad howell Ford in kokomo. Talked to jeff in the service department. He made copies of my letter and my paperwork from hubler. The service manager was supposed to look into what can be done and call me.
On or about 9/23/2018 and while driving my Ford Focus hb se, I received an error message on my dash that read "transmission fault service now". I was able to pull over safely and later waited for a tow to my home. On 9/25/2018 I contacted a Ford dealership near my home (suburban Ford of ferndale) in michigan. The car was towed on 9/28/2018 to suburban Ford dealership for service. Initially, the thinking was the transmission module (tcm) needed servicing, however the service department informs me that the duel-clutch component is defective and needs replacing. I further understand that I'm not alone with this issue. The car has 62,056 miles on the road and has had typical maintenance (tires, oil change, etc. ). While Ford's extended warranty covers tcm, customers, such as myself, having issues with defective dual-clutch are having to come out of pocket for repairs. This vehicle has merely 62,056 road miles not 162,056 miles.

While driving at 55 mph the transmission disengaged and the vehicle quickly lost power. The car acted like the transmission was shifted into neutral since the engine revved up to high rpm but the gear selector was still showing in d. After pulling off to shoulder and stopping and shifting to park, I was able to shift back to drive and operate the vehicle. This is something that has happened several times before and is an intermittent problem. I have taken the car back to the Ford dealer who has analyzed the obd and found no codes to indicate a problem. The dealer has told me that there are problems with the transmissions and clutches and tcms on these cars. The tcm was replaced already under a recall yet I am still having problems. This is a safety hazard as I do not know when the car will stop moving next. Ford's regional manager refuses to admit that there is a problem and keeps referring me back to the dealer.
Purchased my car new 2015, within months car began to shake and jerk, causing car to slow down and jerk forward. Went to car dealership and told it was a known problem, and they had a permanent fix for it. Tcm clutch problem. I have been back 2 more times with same problem, this last time, dealership states they will no longer fix the problem under warranty, but I will be responsible for repairs. I still owe on the car, and no other auto dealership would give me anything for it since the auto has this known problem. I am stuck with the car.

I purchased a brand new 2015 Ford Focus in July 2015 with 17 miles on it. I have put it in the shop under warranty for shuddering jerking , the rpms go up when I come to a stop and it makes clicking noises and going dead when coming to a stop or trying to leave from a stop. I have nearly been hit twice when pulling out onto the hwy turning left going to work because the car just jerked and died completely. If not for the other drivers paying attention they would have hit me. I have two young children. I just read and found out about this whole powershift lawsuit and I am in total shock. How could you sell me a vehicle with this kind of defect? my children and me could be killed everytime I get in the vehicle. The dealerships are no help either. First they said it was "an update" that I needed. Next it was normal of those kind of cars then it was ok we can't find anything wrong then it was tcm then clutch finally after the check engine light came on I took it to the last dealer and they said it was the vapor emissions valve. I just throw my hands up with it. I cant trade it in because its value its so low. I am a single working mother of two kids and I am scared everytime I get in this death trap. Help.
