Windshield Problems of Ford Focus

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the plastic glaze on the windshield separated from the glass, which caused poor visibility. Also, while accelerating from a stop, the vehicle hesitated and made a bucking motion. The dealer stated that the computer needed to be recalibrated. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 27,000.

The windshield in my car has distortions in it. Some are vertical, some are horizontal. The Ford dealer and Ford corporate customer service have both told me that this is standard for this model. Since all models have it, there is no windshield with which it can be replaced. I think it's a safety issue because looking through the windshield distorts what I see outside. I'd like NHTSA to look into it.

Second time in two months windshield has developed a stress fracture.

Faulty windshield on 2008 Ford Focus ses 4dr sedan blurry at bottom of windshield service mgr said nothing can be done till Ford recalls condensation inside the windshield tried several times to correct they replaced windshield water leaking in on both passenger and driver sides not sealed correctly.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. The contact stated that there is a grey, blackish color reflecting through the vehicle's windshield. As a result, he can not see the air bag, speedometer, the vents, and a hump figure. He stated that the failure prevents him from seeing the vehicles in front of him and is similar to looking through a screen door. The contact noticed the failure the next day after the vehicle was purchased on April 28, 2007. Ford stated that there is no return policy even though the vehicle is brand new. Leaking of rain water onto the floor of the passenger's side. The car has been completely checked and nothing is wrong. They refuse to reinstall the windshield because they say it is a factory defect with the pollen filter seals not keeping water out. It is causing water damage to my car, mold is starting to form, and who knows what other damage this will cause!.

: the contact stated the molding on the top of the windshield was coming loose. The contact attempted to press the molding back into place. Water leaked into the vehicle from the top of the windshield when it rained. The vehicle was taken to the service dealer for repair.

Consumer complaint regarding defect in Ford Focus windshield. The windshield had come loose in the center about 12 inches.

Contact stated in 3-03 windshield cracked. He took vehicle to dealer and had windshield replaced. It was still leaking, and he took it back again. The dealer replaced it again. But, it was still leaking. The dealer replaced it a third time. It continued to leak. In 4-03 the dealer, where the contact bought the vehicle, said he would seal the windshield. A month ago, it cracked again. He took vehicle to another dealer, and he replaced the windshield. However, the problem recurred, and the dealer sealed it twice. It was still leaking. The contact believed there was defect in the body of the vehicle. The water leaked into the dome light, and the contact was afraid there might be an electrical fire. The windshield was replaced again on 9/18/2005 but on 9/23/2005 the consumer noticed that is was still leaking.

Consumer was driving and windshield exploded. Glass filled the front driver's side.

The front window developed a leak right in the top center. Water was running out of the dome light area. I have no fixed it properly yet but it is a concern that it will short out the dome light and cause a fire.

A crack appeared at the top middle of the front windshield and was moving towards the bottom of the windshield . This caused a distraction to the driver's view.

While driving the vehicles rear windshield shattered.

My daughter was in a fender bender. She was behind someone at an intersection. They were both turning right. The person before her proceeded through the intersection. My daughter looked to her left for vehicles and started through the intersection. The vehicle in front of her stopped and she rear ended it. There was no damage done to the other vehicle and her Focus has a small dent in the front fender. The damage came from the fact that the airbags deployed and blew out the windshield. If my daughter had not been wearing glasses, she may have received an eye injury from the shattered glass. The dealer claims that the airbags should deploy at that low of a speed and it is expected to blow out the windshield.

Consumer states that while driving and no warning the windshield cracked starting from the driver side bottom all the way to the top of the windshield and during rainy weather water leaks into the vehicle. Dealer notified. Nlm.

Windshield had to be replaced three times since date of purchase. Windshield without any assitance from a foregin object has cracked twice down the middle, and once on the side. Contacted dealer, and the dealer was not willing to do anything.

Upper interior molding is bulging along windshield . Dealer notified. Feel free to provide any further information.

Windshield was replaced by Ford once for stress crack, they would not replace second time also stress crack.

When driving in the rain windshield wiper blades cause a film on the windshied and with oncoming light of other cars/trucks it makes it very difficult to see out of the windshield. The dealer as well as Ford has told me that this is normal operating procedure and that I should use my defroster and this will clear it up. I tried this and it did not clear it up. I called the Ford number and I was told to go back to the dealer and tell them to prove it is normal. Their service manager said there is nothing he can do for me since Ford has to approve anything he does. I basically have nowhere else to go. Please help me.

Ford blue oval certified dealer made two attemps to stop leak through heat/ac air duct. After second attemp owner was driving home and notice cowling at base of windshield had come lose. Owner paid non Ford dealer to make repair after this because of lack of confidence in Ford dealer. Parts damage from being install incorrectly and dealer made a mess with sticky non drying sealer which was used between windshield and cowling. Owner now has no confidence in this Ford Focus , Ford or it's dealers .

Windshield wiper which rubs against touches of the windshield causes the windshield to crack in three different areas. Please provide further information.

My wive ann was sitting in a parking lot with the motor running and heater/def. On when she heard a cracking noise then she seen the windshield crack in strieght line a good 7 inches. I reported the incident to the dealer that same day on which they made an appointmt. For the 26th(4 days later)I kept the appt. On which a mechanic (I believe a bob)said we dont deal in glass but Ford told me how to look for defects,or stone,and he went to my car dug a pen in to the crack and said see right there is a stone chip. So the refuse to honor the warrenty. When talked to real exsperts,they said that couldnt determined a defect now that it was tamperd with. Now,there was no flying debris,no flying stones in the parking lot. Also this guy said a stone no bigger than a pin head made such a crack. . . If this was to be even closely true,then in my oppinion it should still be defective,because,that windshield would not hold up to the slightest,freezing rain,or the smallest hail,or a dirt road,a sander,and the list could go on. But I believe it broke because we had good tempertures that morning,compined with the heater caused it to crack.

While traveling on highway and without warning passenger's side door will slide open . Dealership is aware of problem.
