I was driving on the garden state parkway when my wipers failed to work in the pouring rain. I pulled over and decided that I needed to get home. Luckily, for me the rain let up enough for me to get home. It is a very scary experience when your driving and wipers go dead. Please investigate this thank you.

Windshield wipers frequently fail without notice during rain events despite expensive repairs. Sometimes I have smelled smoke and am concerned having heard that the Focus wiper motors have caused fires in the past. Two Ford dealers have failed to isolate problem.

My wife purchased a 2001 Ford Focus. The washer tank is defective and leaks. We took the car to the dealership twice for the problem. (george coleman Ford travelers rest, SC). We then contacted Ford motor company and were told that the engineers have no repair process at this time.
When the tempature gets to about 20 degrees or colder the windshield wipers will start to arch into a bow and arrow shape and become inoperable. Contacted dealer. Nlm.
Windshield washer fluid disappears when you drive the car. I put in over 3 gallons, even though we did not use the washer. It is impossible to see how much fluid is in the container as it is hidden in the wheel well. We visited the dealer 4 times. Although he says he replaced the system, the problem is not fixed. In the northeast, we have severe snow and ice storms. Failure of the washer system during an ice storm would be a safety hazard. It would require stopping the car at frequent intervals on a dangerous interstate highway to clead the windshield. The dealers solution: "carry a gallon of wiper fluid in the car at all times. " he can't fix it. Says it is a design defect. Can you force Ford to make good on this? note: this form says the airbag was deployed. It was not.
Windshield wipers will crack too often. Dealer said that reason for cracks was the weather that caused. Rubber to crack but, this vehicle was parked in an indoor driveway. Please provide more information.

Windshield washer reservoir leaks. Also, can not fill reservoir because fluid sloshes out onto engine and other compartments, contacted dealer, and dealer urged not to fill reservoir up to where it could be seen. Had to fill it accordingly, there is a design flaw.
Windshield washer fluid reservoir is located underneath frame of vehicle and washer fluid level can not be determined. Dealer has yet to be contacted.
I suspect window wash bottle leak, leaking on ground connect on fender.
Windshield wipers wouldn't work while driving in a rain storm. Dealer was contacted & appointment was made for vehicle to be inspected. Owner learned that there was a recall for this problem issued for her vehicle, it was received afterwards.
