The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 98,000.

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that a check engine warning light illuminated on the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic to have the vehicle diagnosed and it was determined that the vehicle had a defective purge valve. When the contact attempted to start the vehicle, the vehicle would not start; the contact had to have the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic. While at the mechanic, the contact was informed that there was a recall under NHTSA campaign number: 17v209000(engine and engine cooling) associated with her vehicle; however, the contact's vehicle was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and was informed that the there were no recalls on the vehicle; they offered no further assistance. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that her vehicle was placed under manufacturer communication number: ssm 48150. The contact was given an estimate of $4,500. 00 for the cost of repairs. On June 9th 2019 the check engine light came on my 2015 Fusion while driving in the city. I took the car to the dealership on June 10th for a oil change and notified them the engine light was on. They performed the �works� service and told me the light was not on. The light was on when I pulled in the parking lot so it is my belief they cleared the code without performing a diagnostic test. June 29 the engine light came back on. June 30 I stop at an auto parts store that does a free diagnostic. The results were misfire on cylinder 2. I took the car back to the dealership July 1st and presented them with the information from the auto parts store. They confirmed the misfire and replaced the coil pack and the spark plug. On July 3 after driving 100+ highway miles I parked the car and several hours later when I returned the car stalled when I started it. It took 3 attempts before the car started. The engine was sputtering and the light came on briefly. July 12th, the engine light came back on while on the interstate. The car continued to drive normally. I parked the car at my home. July 15th started the car I could hear the sound of water rushing through the dash. I drove the car 3 miles to the dealership and noticed white smoke coming from the tailpipe. I left it for a diagnostic evaluation. The following week the dealership calls to tell me the car needs extensive engine repairs heads, gaskets, etc. August comes and the dealership still has my car. A few weeks later I'm told the parts are on back order and there is no expected arrival date. Oct 30 all parts are in and the repairs start. The repairs were completed and the engine failed at the dealership. I'm told on Nov 7 they are ordering a new engine. The engine was installed and repairs were complete on Nov 15th, more than 4 months later! this is a common problem and Ford needs to take responsibility!!.

My car is jerking and the check engine light has not come on it has been since July and they can't tell me but it a recall on the 2. 0 liter but not on mine for a 2. 5 torque converter that is the problem and the guy at Ford place said it would be 2700 to fix I would rather run it in a river wow.

I went to stivers Ford about the air bag be to the end of January and the beginning of February the mechanic took my recall information said they would call me as soon as the new bags got in never heard from them I called every month only to be told nothing came in yet so I called Ford customers service they had me on hold the mechanic in montgomery stated that there was no record of me ever being there. Customer service left me on the phone with the mechanic to make an appointment she hung up the phone I gave the mechanic my first and last name then he repeated back to me my first and last name with my address keep in mind he had all of my information in the system the whole time. So I made an appointment for Friday may 31 2019. There is a faulty tire light on that won't go away even when I had the tire checked the car stopped in the middle of the intersection during the green light in heavy traffic the 🔧 light came on with the check engine light and the flashing faulty tire light . I put the car in park and turned off the engine then restarted the car and drove home I was very afraid because the cars behind me were moving pretty fast I was blessed to not be hit from behind. Next day drove the car to a repair shop. Every thing was working fine they ran a diagnosis showing the throttle was stuck and would not reset so it is stuck.

While in motion (65 mph) the vehicles electronic throttle body failed, causing the vehicle to enter an emergency mode in which the rpms were fixed at approximately 1. 2k. The ability to accelerate was lost completely and the vehicle had to be coasted off of the highway. An immediate restart of the engine did not remedy the issue, but after leaving the vehicle off for approximately 5 minutes on the side of the highway the issue was resolved, allowing for full use of the vehicle. After the incident the check engine light remained illuminated and the vehicle was brought to the Ford dealership for service. It was discovered that the throttle body had "failed" and needed to be replaced. I know that Ford has had an issue on older year throttle bodies and that a recall was issued for those. I am hoping that these newer vehicles will be looked at, and if the issue is still prevalent the recall changed to include them.

As I was driving on the highway my car engine started cutting out and check engine light came on. Replaced spark plugs, fuel filter and coil pack. Problem did not resolve. Took car to chapman Ford in scottsdale az. They found that the fuel injector in cylinder 2 had stuck open flooding the cylinder with gasoline and compromising lubrication in that cylinder. Repair requires removing engine and rebuilding it. Vehicle only has 70,000 miles on it of which 95% is highway miles. If I wouldn't have known to switch it to sport mode and keep the rpm up until I could get to a safe location it could have stalled on the highway causing a collision. After doing research online found that this is a common problem with the ecoboost 4 cylinder motor and should be a recall item. Ford refusing to pay for repairs on a car that's just over 2 years old. With previous Ford vehicles I have always been offered an extended warranty but was not on this vehicle.

Ford Fusion recall: driving on the way home from the store and my check engine light came on along with a wrench symbol and a note on my dash to see manual while I was making a right turn I to my apartment complex. I took it to auto zone and they started it was the throttle body and it needed to be replaced, I took it to Ford after where they said it was covered and to bring it in on the 6th of Feb to have it fix. But then was told after they confirmed it was the throttle body that it was not covered. I only had the car 2 years and its problem after problem which nothing is covered under the warranty that I'm paying for.

Filled up car w/ gas, car sputtered like it was not getting gas. Car shut off but power stayed on. Tried to start car again, & it sputtered again. I then pushed on accelerator to give gas, and car sputtered as I let off, then died, but still had power. Started car for 3rd time, and it continued to sputter, I pushed on accelerator, and put in drive, and as I drove about 20 meters, the car seemed to still sputter. Once I continued to drive, and get up to 30 to 40 mph, the car ran fine. Car started fine the next few hours, but then in the evening it did it again. I had to put hazards on due to being on a main road and the car would not acellerate and started sputtering again. My check engine light also has came on during this process. I have taken into auto shop and it reads that fuel pressure sensor needs replaced: code p0087 fuel rail/system pressure - too low p2196 02 sensor signal stuck rich bank 1 sensor 1 p1450 unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum. With the vehicle being well maintained and being less than 5 years old, I believe this should be taken in consideration due to being very unsafe to drive due to not knowing when the sputtering of the car will happen.

Every so often my car will stall out. I will restart and it will stall out aleast 3 times before it will drive normal, sometimes I have to wait until the check engine light comes on before the stalling out stops. If I make a long trip 20 miles or more, and reach my destination car will shall at the end of the trip or when im leaving from a long trip. I cant seem to have the check engine light on long enough for the dealer to check due to light will clear.

Throttle body recall I have a 2010 Ford Fusion that I just purchased less then a year ago. One day my check engine light came on and I returned the car they told me it was the throttle body. They replaced it and 3 months later it went again. I looked up the recalls and they said that the throttle body was one of them. It has already been fixed 4 times in the last couple of years. Takata recall I was driving and the car began to slow down rapidly. I was unable to control where I was going and unable to accelerate or decelerate. I have no control over the vehicle when this happens. It is not an all the time problem, but does happen very often. The check engine light comes on when it happens and the car accelerates briefly before instantly shutting off. The wrench symbol also comes on before this all takes place. I could be using cruise control or just normal driving and it happens in both situations. The vehicle tends to do it no matter where you are such as a high way or on a regular city street. I have had the vehicle checked out numerous (six) times to see why it does this. The mechanic hooks it up to the computer every time and states there is nothing wrong but then resets the symbol lights so they go out. The car will be fine for a week or so and then do it again! it is scary when it happens and I try not to drive the car due to this issue. How can you fix something the mechanics state is not broken? something isnt right with the vehicle and something needs to be investigated to see why it does this! it can not only be my car!.

Engine loses engine power when driving. Pressing the accelerator pedal does nothing. Must coast or brake until the car stops. Power steering, braking, and climate control systems remain functional; radio remains on; turn signals did not work. �trans not in park� message appears on the display. Event has occurred three times when driving at highway speeds. Cruise control was on and set during at least two times out of the three events. Car may be restarted after coming to a stop, shifting into park and turning key to off. Appears to �reset� to work correctly until the next unexpected event occurs. Check engine light does not come on. Chime occurs after the loss of engine power. The car does not shake during or before event. Have not experienced any harsh or delayed shifting when starting from stop or after slowing and trying to accelerate. Three identical instances have occurred since driving this car. In one of the three instances, the key was bumped with a knee. Present milage is about 48000. Car was obtained in 12/2016. Local Ford dealer states that there are no recalls or services outstanding for this vehicle; did not know of any reported problems like this. On may 15, 2018 wes myers at bob sight Ford in lee's summit, missouri checked two other Fusions and noted that this same problem will occur if the key is barely rotated back - not so much as to think it should turn off the engine. As such, he did not find anything �wrong� since other vehicles exhibit the same problem; replacing the ignition switch with another that has the same problem would not provide a fix. Also stated that unless the car was still under the bumper to bumper warranty, that Ford would not take any action. The vehicle leasing company (enterprise) has not issued any notices stating this is a known issue with the vehicle. Nhtsa 9/19/2016, blacklick, OH, is similar issue.

My vehicle has begun to stall out. It can happen at any random time while driving, while stopped, or while pulling out into traffic. I had my car towed to the shop this week and of course they say they couldn't get it to duplicate the issue. They replaced the fuel pressure sensor and it did not fix the issue!! my check engine light randomly goes off and on but when plugged in it isn't pulling any codes. I have a son and I live in memphis, TN and this is very dangerous. It is not only putting my life in danger but also my son's life as well as other drivers. I am literally scared to drive anywhere with my son in the vehicle out of fear my car is going to die and I am going to end up in a horrible crash! I know I am not the only one dealing with this issue. I have seen tons more online complaining about the same issue! unhappy with Ford and my vehicle at this point is an understatement. While driving at a steady 45 mph on a city street my Ford Fusion lost engine power. The tachometer dropped to less than 500rpm, the check engine warning light and the have dealer service vehicle light came on. Pumping the gas pedal did not have any effect on rpms. I was able to coast to a safe area. I turned off the engine and when I restarted the engine it was still idling under 500rpm and the gas pedal had no effect on engine speed. After the 3rd restart, I could get enough engine speed to return to my hotel but it ran very rough with the check engine light on. I took the car to a carmax dealer in henderson, nv. I purchased it from a different dealer in roseville, CA. They sent it to a Ford dealer in henderson. The dealer replace the throttle body - attaching the repair invoice. I have noticed that this seems to be a common complaint online and that Ford somehow stopped north carolina from forcing them to issue a recall for this. If this had happened on the freeway in heavy traffic, there would have been one heck of an accident as the car rapidly slowed down without warning.

About 2 months after I purchased my 2016 Ford Fusion, the check engine light came on. But a couple days later, it went away. Now after the car sits over night and I awake in the morning to go to work, the car cuts off in the middle of traffic. It just goes completely dead. Its a good thing I havent been on the highway when that happens. The loses all power and acceleration. I then have to turn the switch off and wait a few minutes before I can then accelerate again. It has happened every morning for the past month.

Car will sporadically go into limp home mode while driving. Never seems to be an issue while parked or not moving. The wrench light comes on and I have to pull over and let it sit for a good 15 to 20 minutes. I can then start it back up and it runs like there is no problem. Mechanic can't find the issue because the check engine light disappears and no error code is given. Happens on the highway and regular city streets. Check engine light came on. Used code checker to investigate and came up with code p144c. Ended up having to do with the canister purge valve and it had to be replaced. Cost - $326. 04 repairs completed at wray Ford, 2851 benton road, bossier city, la 318-686-7300, invoice number focs245906 on 21 Dec 2016 second item: problem with start/stop button. The wrench on the dash would light up. Only thing I could find out was look in the manual, which showed and told me nothing. Car would just arbitrarily shut down while driving !!! once the vehicle was stopped, I had to use a knife to pull the start/stop button out and then it would generally restart and the wrench on the dash would go off. Took to dealership and stated the ignition button was faulty. Originally taken to dealership on 11-1-2017 and they did not have a replacement part, stated they were on back order and had no idea when a new one would be available, in the meantime, Ford expected me to drive a vehicle that could potentially shut down at anytime, while turning in from of another vehicle at an intersection would have been a deadly event !! I filed a complaint with Ford motor company, Ford case number cas13448074 but never heard anything from Ford. I followed up with the dealership weekly on status of part. It finally came in around December 14th and I scheduled an appointment to have it replaced on December 18th. Cost - $361. 66 I want an investigation as to whether these are recurring issues and a recall should be made for these issues. The second one is a major safety issue.

The vehicle was started and was no more than 10 minutes from our house when it started smoking while being driven to work. Within a minute the check engine light came on, within another minute the car lost power. The gas pedal wouldn't work, etc etc. We were able to coast into a side street and exit the vehicle. Within a minute of that happening it burst into flames and was completely engulfed and destroyed.

The throttle body was replaced by the Ford dealer 18 months ago, and the condition that exists now was the same that existed prior to the throttle body being replaced 18 months ago. Vehicle currently has less than 68,000 miles. Fuel economy is 20% lower than normal. It is frightening to attempt to pass on 2-lane roads, because you never know when the engine will sputter. This started occurring occasionally in mid-June, 2017, and now occurs every time you drive the car. Code that was stored was p2119, "throttle body range. ".

When the car is warm, the vehicle will stall every time when restarted after it was turned off for less than and hour. Loses all throttle response, have had a few scares when turning onto a busy road and vehicle stalls. No check engine light.

My child was driving my Ford 2010 Fusion and it suddenly caught fire destroying the engine and surrounding components, everything inside the car was melted. Fire destroyed the front of the inside of the car . There were no check engine lights or other warning signs displayed on the car dashboard.

This is an issue that has grown. I have documented proof that dates back to March 2016. This issue is an escalation of old problem that Ford refuses to acknowledge is an issue. I say this because there is no current recall on this issue. On 9/03/2016, I was driving on west georgia rd in simponville SC when all if a sudden the car jerked. Then a wrench and check engine light came on. I car started to lose power. Luckily, no car was trailing behind us or I'm sure it would have ran into the back of us. I say this because my foot was on the gas pedal so a car behind me would not have known to slow down til too late. I had just taken my car to the dealership the week befor for a second time due to car stalling right after a take off from a stop. Each time to be told nothing is wrong and the check engine light be turned off. Each time service person says bring it back if check engine light starts blinking or has a red dot because something then is wrong. After this incident I make a formal complaint to Ford. A manager calls me and I return her call. She asks about what happened and I tell her. I also tell her Ford had an issue. It's dangerous to drive a car that at anytime may lose acceleration while driving and cause an accident. I pray this doesn't happen to my family. I bought this car after researching it was just as good as a Toyota or Honda. She suggests I take it to a different dealership which I say I already have plans to. But she also say to have a technician ride with me to give pointers on how to drive to avoid the stalls. My experience was not a stall. It was a list of power while driving a car I purchased new less than a year ago. The 2nd dealership says it's a throttle body issue. It can be repaired but appointment not til 21st. Plus no loaner car. I have to work to live and par for that car. Ford needs a recall before there's a death.

My 18 year old daughter was driving the Fusion attempting to enter a highway ramp (route 22 in springfield NJ) to go dorm shopping for school. Upon entering the highway and accelerating on the ramp the vehicle stalled and became unresponsive to acceleration while pressing down in the pedal. The vehicle behind her began to accelerate; the Fusion then lost all power, the vehicle stuck her in the rear and pushed my daughters Fusion into an active lane with traffic traveling at 55mph and up. There was minor aesthetic damage to the Fusion. But that is not my concern in the least! the Fusion was stuck on an active high speed highway, my daughter could or should have easily been seriously injured or killed! this is the demarcation of a near miss! the check engine light came on with the ¿wrench icon¿ the vehicle had to be towed to a local dealer. Then there are 100¿s of articles pertaining to injuries and fatalities due faulty throttle bodies! Ford sales failed to mention that during the sale! I stopped at Ford service this morning to advise them of the details of the incident and the service advisor stated ¿ah yeah gotta be the throttle body¿ ¿happens all the time¿ ¿there was a bad batch¿! .

2016 Ford Fusion, 2. 5l engine, 10,500 miles. While driving straight on a two lane road, constant speed, 55mph, I experienced a sudden loss of power followed by the engine stalling. Although there were cars behind me I was able to pull over to the shoulder. The 'check engine' light turned on, I cycled the ignition and was able to drive the vehicle once again, although the check engine light was still on. After stopping for a brief period, I continued on my journey home engine light still on. When accelerating onto the expressway into rush hour traffic, I once again experienced a sudden loss of power followed by stalling of the engine. Fortunately I was able to get the car to the right shoulder. I recycled the ignition again and it occurred to me that I could drive the car without stalling only by pushing the throttle very lightly. I got the car home and took it to the dealer the next day using very light throttle application. Dealer verified issue and replaced the electronic throttle body: "verified stalling and check engine light. Ids retrieve code p2112, performed ppt dv, replaced throttle body per ppt. Cleared code and retest. System passed".

On multiple occasions my car hesitated and stalled, usually when just taking off or pulling out into intersections. It has never done this while sitting at idle and only once while driving highway speed. Sometimes the check engine light does not come on and sometimes it comes on and then goes right back off. My mechanic could not pull a code after this happens.

Engine stalls/shuts down while driving. Check engine light came on. Alarm p2111 came up. Throttle actuator control system - stuck open. My vehicle stalled while turning left with oncoming traffic. It did this 3 times while driving home from work. This is an intermittent issue. I take it to the dealer, they adjust, it works for a while, then occurs again. This is a very dangerous problem.

On (3) separate occasions now my car has stalled out while driving on a street and given me the "wrench" check owners manual alert on the display. As I do all I can to get out of the line of traffic and off the the side of the road, the car sputters, shakes and stalls out. Turn off the key, wait a few seconds, open and close the door (so all electronics are off) and sometimes the check engine light comes on when it starts and it runs fine. Some times, it starts and shakes and sputters and stalls. On all occasions, I have eventually been able to get it to "limp" home. The last time (3rd time) I called Ford roadside assistance and had it towed to the dealer. The shop told me this is the 5th or 6th 2016 Ford car (fusion, fiesta or focus) this month with the same issue. 2nd Fusion and the one prior to mine had 400 miles on it! thinks it's either the throttle body or the throttle body positioning sensor. Has thrown codes p2111 and p2112. (one means flap is open, one means flap is closed) it's been 3 days and I have just been told I'm looking at another 6 at a minimum. (this is not the shop's fault in my opinion as they have been nothing but nice and considerate to me) don't know what the deal is but someone is going to get seriously hurt.
