The car acts like it wants to shut off after fueling. If I sit at an idle it will start to run rough. While in motion there is a vibration humming sound coming from where you put the fuel in. If I press the flap it releases a buildup of gas fumes.
We have had our 2103 Fusion now for 2 months. 1 week after having the car it began to make a humming noise around the gas tank area, then when you slowed down for a red light the car would stall and be hard to start back. Sent the car back to the dealership to only be told they couldn't find anything wrong. Once we received the car back we drove it for a couple of days and the car started making the noise again and would stall again. Called dealership and took car back again still nothing. Received car back and began to notice when we was fueling the car that the rpm gauge would go up and down and then the vehicle would quit and be very hard to start back. While driving the vehicle about 3 weeks ago it stalled again and would not start back, finally after about 30 mins of trying the car started. Sent car back to dealership again and they have had the car 3 weeks and they are saying they can not find anything wrong with the vehicle. I asked if they had put fuel in it like I advised they proceeded to tell me no. I advised them when they did to let me know what the car did. We no longer feel safe driving the car. I believe we either have a fuel pump issue or the vehicle is pulling air in from the fueling system and is causing it to air lock. The vehicle has quit about 12-15 times in the 2 months we have had it.

Driving at 35-40 mph, approaching a hill to go up, engine stopped. Electrical was fine; power steering continued to work, but engine would not work. Wrench light came on on dashboard. Coasted to nearby street, pulled to side, and stopped. Turned off car but kept key in ignition. Tried to start car but car made unusual noise, so I turned it off. (not clicking noise like bad alternator makes; it was a noise I'd never heard before. ) pulled key out of ignition, waited a few seconds, put key in again, and car started as normal. Drove the rest of the way home as normal (only one mile). Have not tried to drive anywhere again for the day.

***note: this started in may 2013 happened 3 time. Dealership replace an intake sensor and then it happened again as listed below. This is putting me and my daughters in danger everytime this happens without prior warning. ---------------------------------------- July 19, 2013 @ 3:29 without warning this time the “check engine” indicator came on , the car made a weird noise like a dying rumble/purring noise as it became silent and all power left. -she put the care in “p” park -started the engine and it acted normal -------------------------------------- July 19, 2013 @3:28 without warning the “throttle control/transmission” indicator lit up, the car became silent and all power left. -she put the care in “p” park -started the engine and it acted normal ------------------------------------------- July 19, 2013 @ 1:20 am : without warning the “throttle control/transmission” indicator lit up, the car became silent and all power left. -she put the care in “p” park -started the engine and it acted normal ---------------------------------------------------------- July 18, 2013 @4:30 without warning the “throttle control/transmission” indicator lit up, the car became silent and all power left. -she put the care in “p” park …. I was in the back seat & instructed her what to do. -started the engine and it acted normal ***** Ford dealership service technicians could not find or duplicate the problem. The issue escalated to the Ford engineers. They determined that it was something like the massive intake air flow sensor and installed a new one ( Ford part: fp 3l3z-128579-ba sensor assy) June 13 just prior to my business trip on June 17,2013.
We have a 2010 Ford Fusion s. We bought it in may and it have a starting up problem. When you try to start it (after holding the key in the on position for like 3 seconds. . . As it should be) , it doesn't start and then after letting the key "go", the car keeps trying to start himself up. This makes a weird noise offcourse. . . . And then you have to quickly turn down the key to the off position for it to stop trying . This morning was the fifth time already this happened. The last time I had to try 3 times before finally getting the car to start up. This car will be going to the service/repair dep. Soon at the dealer. I can't believe these problems occurs already , and the car is only 5 months old !.
