1 Engine Head Gasket Failure problem of the 2014 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 01/13/2021

Vehicle's engine misfires and stalls at low speeds after cold start triggering onboard diagnostic code. Ford dealership where vehicle was purchased inspected (4/23/2019) but did not find cause of misfires and stalls. I replaced the oem low pressure fuel sensor (11/8/2019) as suggested by others experiencing similar issues for like model vehicles. The engine has continued to misfire and stall after replacing low pressure fuel sensor. During a recent inspection of the vehicle by a local service center (3/17/2021), the technician noted that the engine coolant was abnormally low. The engine misfires and low coolant suggest a possible coolant intrusion into engine cylinders. This issue has been reported with other like model Ford vehicles with ecoboost engines (see TSB 20-2100). In my opinion, there is substantial risk of injury to occupants of the vehicle as the misfires and stalls are more likely when the engine is cold and the driver is attempting to accelerate from a stationary position. E. G. Turning onto a busy street and merging with traffic. Ford should replace head gasket for affected vehicles and small block for customers who experience complete engine failure.

2 Engine Head Gasket Failure problem of the 2013 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 04/02/2017

My vehichle has had the check engine light go on and off numerous times in the last six months, and smelled a funny smell coming through the vents. I get regular maintenance, have had the codes read as well as diagnostic test performed. The most I have been told is that there was a p144c code which is something to do with the fuel system wrong. Now when driving the vehicle began to stall. I took my car in to Ford they told me that I needed 3000 dollars in work done and have yet to address the 17s09 recall even upon my concerns. I was treated unfairly at my local Ford and took my car to another shop. Now am being told that my car has been overheating and that my cylinder head gasket needs replaced. I have been in contact with Ford and they wont even help, until they send a letter to me next week. My car is already in the shop and the recall needs to be adressed. I need help.

3 Engine Head Gasket Failure problem of the 2008 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 03/29/2013

A burning smell was detected after my 2008 sel awd was driven/hot. My mechanic saw oil all over the exhaust and cleaned it all off and did a dye trace to locate the leak. The leak is the rear head gasket! I never had a well cared for car leak this early. I always got over 200,000 miles on my buicks. The cost to replace a head gasket are in excess of $2100-$2500! and as a note, the mechanic who found the issue does not even do major engine repair on this level so they were not making it up.

4 Engine Head Gasket Failure problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 10/14/2011

When I was driving my 2010 Ford Fusion the wrench light came on and the car lost all power and stalled out. Luckily I wasn't in front of a truck or on the freeway. Very scary my car only has 15391 miles on it. This car was also leaking oil. I am not happy with this car. When I took it to the dealer this problem didn't show up at first so the service person kept the car longer and finally it did the same thing and lost all power so they replaced the throttle body and replaced the the gasket that was leaking oil. Also a few months earlier one of the coils went bad and had to be replaced.
