1 Engine problem of the 2019 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 08/23/2023

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 30-35 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving. Additionally, the vehicle lunged forward but failed to respond upon depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the local pep boys, where the ignition coils #3 and #4 were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the ignition coil #4 was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The independent mechanic replaced sparks plugs #1, #2 and #3, except spark plug #4 because it was stuck. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the cylinder head needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. 3 Engine problem of the 2007 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 03/20/2010

When backing up hill into a parking spot, the car does not obey the commands of the driver. Since there is an excessive delay in the throttle, I end up releasing the accelerator completely when I need to slow down because the car does not slow down right away. The car then goes into a "hold" mode where it prevents the car from rolling forward. Once it is in that mode, it does not respond to the accelerator pedal until about one second after the pedal has reached a level where the rpm of the engine would increase significantly beyond the holding rpm. Due to the delay and lack of response during the first part of the pedal travel, the accelerator is down too far when the car finally releases the "hold" on the throttle and the car goes backward at a much higher rate of speed than desired. The only way I can back up hill safely is to apply the brakes fully with my left foot on the brake pedal, rev the engine up with my right foot on the accelerator pedal and control the speed of the vehicle by partially releasing brake pedal with my left foot while holding the accelerator pedal steady with my right foot. The brakes don't have a delay to them. The vehicle is a 2007 Ford Fusion se 3. 0 liter v6 with 6 speed automatic transmission.

4 Engine problem of the 2007 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 01/24/2010

When accelerating from 30 mph to 55 mph with the accelerator pedal to the floor, I released the accelerator at about 50 mph. The car continued at full throttle for about 5 more seconds while I moved my foot to the brake and began to attempt to slow the vehicle. The vehicle overshot the intended speed by about 20 mph before it began to slow down to the intended speed of 55 mph. This could have caused a rear end collision if there had been other traffic on the freeway bides the truck tailgating me when I was doing 30 mph. The vehicle is a 2007 Ford Fusion se, v6 with automatic transmission.

5 Engine problem of the 2007 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 05/31/2009

When driving up a steep hill and rounding a corner, the speed limit dropped from 55 to 45mph. I tapped the brake to disengage the curse control and attempted to control the speed manually. I was not able to get the car to do 45. It oscillated between 50 and 40mph. I finally hit the set button on the cruise control as the speedometer passed 40m. The distraction of trying to control the vehicle could have lead to an accident since I was not able to devote my full attention to the road ahead of me. The vehicle is a 2007 Ford Fusion se, v6 with 6 speed automatic transmission.

6 Engine problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 02/03/2006

At less than 5000 miles my car would hesitate when going to accelerate. I have taken my car to the dealership at least 4 times for this issue. It is now in the shop again because when I would turn left something in the steering column was loose.
