The backup assisting camera is no longer working properly, causing a safety issue while reversing. There are recalls on this from 2015 to 2019 but not 2014 even though the same issue is happening with the 2014's.

The rear camera intermittently fails or displays a distorted image. I reported the issue to our local Ford dealership in April/may 2022, but at that time the necessary replacement parts were not available or in service. This was probably related to the various covid 19 pandemic parts supply issues. Yesterday, while the car was being backed out of our garage, a young child was playing in the driveway directly in the vehicle’s rear blind spot. As usual, the camera was not functioning. Fortunately, an adult supervising the child noticed the situation and intervened, preventing what could have been a terrible tragedy. We have seen news reports about recalls addressing rear camera issues in many Ford vehicles—yet not for our 2015 Ford Fusion. How many serious incidents must occur before Ford takes action to correct this problem?.

Purge solenoid unplugged, several times for years, which causes the vehicle not to start up after getting fuel. Check engine light come on often due to this. When I bring vehicle to mecanic shop they plug it right back. P0443 evap purge control valve “a” circuit.
Backup rearview camera a rear view camera that displays a blank or distorted image while in reverse can reduce or distort the drivers view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Rear camera all of a sudden stops working and says "rear camera not available", creating unsafe conditions when backing up. Common issue on Ford Fusions, for which there's a recall recently announced for the 2016 model year but not for 2017, even though same signs and symptoms and vehicle otherwise. Could you please investigate.

Last month, while transporting my brother to his arm surgery in chapel hill, nc, I observed unusual and audible shifting behavior when engaging the vehicle's sport mode. This mode is typically utilized for extended journeys on highways and interstates. Although the anomaly was brief, I did not initially consider it significant. Several weeks later, upon departing from my community college campus, I encountered a red light near santa fe drive. The vehicle exhibited a hesitant and labored acceleration, eventually moving forward. This incident was particularly concerning given the high volume of traffic during that time of day. I subsequently stopped at a nearby 7-eleven for fuel, suspecting a low fuel level might be the cause. No engine warning lights or mechanical indicators were illuminated, and the oil life was at 70% with appropriate oil levels. Fast forward to the last week of January. On Wednesday the 28th, I began to notice recurring shifting issues with the vehicle during a class break. Additionally, engaging reverse consistently resulted in a harsh shift. As I was leaving my neighborhood to return to class, the vehicle completely failed to engage gears or accelerate. At this point, both the wrench and check engine warning lights illuminated. Upon returning home, I utilized the code reader provided by my mother last christmas, which displayed the code "p0772. " this confirmed my prior research regarding potential issues with the ecoboost engine. I am relieved that this mechanical failure did not occur amidst the heavy traffic typically found on 210 murchison south , I-295, bragg blvd fayetteville/spring lake and other routes heavily trafficked due to the military base. The high speeds on these roads could have led to a dangerous situation, potentially causing a rear-end accident or other involving other drivers who may be speeding or inattentive. I am grateful that I did not experience a stall in the middle of traffic, which could have compromised my safety.
Transmission valve body w/solenoid, diagnostic.
My rear reverse camera has not been working properly. Sometimes the screen is completely black, sometimes the screen has lines in it , sometimes the camera acts like it is moving. It is very disturbing and dangerous. This is not weather related because it happens when it's sunny or raining. I can go a couple of days with out any issues and then randomly it has these issues. This has been going on for a while now so there isn't a particular day. This started happening early last year 2025.
Vehicle: 2013 Ford Fusion mileage: ~165,000 miles issue type: engine stalls / loss of power my 2013 Ford Fusion has experienced intermittent engine stalling and hesitation since early ownership. The vehicle will stall or “putter” when slowing down or coming to a stop, often without warning. When this occurs, the engine shuts off and the vehicle must be put into park and restarted. Restarting is sometimes delayed or hesitant. This issue occurs without any warning lights or diagnostic trouble codes appearing on the dashboard, making it difficult for dealerships and mechanics to diagnose. The problem has persisted for years and has occurred multiple times under normal driving conditions. This defect presents a serious safety risk, as the vehicle can lose power unexpectedly while in traffic, at intersections, or during braking. Loss of engine power in these situations creates a high risk of collision. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times, including by dealerships, but the issue could not be identified due to the absence of fault codes. This appears to be a design or component defect that does not reliably trigger diagnostic warnings. I am reporting this as a safety-related defect involving unexpected engine stalling and loss of power. The date I marked you asked below is the most current but as I stated it’s been happening since a month after purchasing the car brand new.
As I was driving, making a right turn and with out warning my steering wheel before excessively hard to control, turn. Because of the sudden wheel tightening as I was making this right turn I almost collided with a vehicle in next lane on highway. My brakes were in good standing but I had to really step down on my brakes to gain control of the steering wheel. I put in the shop and got a multi point inspection with repairs costs of over 3000 to replace steering wheel gear bolts etc in which I can't afford at this time.
We had the door latch recall fixed just over a year ago and now our door won't close. The latch is broken again and it needs to be fixed free.
There is open recall for 2017 Ford Fusion coolant leak that may lead to vehicle fire I have the same issue with my 2017 Ford Fusion but my VIN is not flagged now I’m scared to drive the vehicle.
Rear view camera intermittently works. Blackout when reversing. Car is in reverse camera starts then stops.
I am requesting formal escalation and review of my case due to a repeat failure of a safety recall component that has rendered my vehicle unsafe and not safely operable. My vehicle is a 2016 Ford Fusion. In 2024, a door latch safety recall repair was completed at an authorized Ford dealership. The same door latch has now failed again, causing the door to not close or latch at all, creating the same safety condition the recall was intended to correct. Both the dealership and Ford customer service have declined assistance on the basis that the recall repair was previously completed. However, this is not a new or unrelated issue — this is a repeat failure of the same safety-critical component addressed under the recall. This condition presents an ongoing safety risk, and the vehicle cannot be used safely in its current state. I have already filed a formal complaint with NHTSA documenting this repeat failure and Ford’s refusal to repair the issue. At this time, I am requesting: review by a supervisor or escalation specialist consideration for goodwill or recall-related assistance resolution of this repeat safety defect without cost to me please provide: confirmation that this case has been escalated a written response explaining Ford’s position any options Ford is willing to offer to address this safety concern I am requesting this review in good faith and hope Ford will stand behind its safety recall repair when the same defect has clearly reoccurred. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, [xxx] & [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I have a recall, I need to know where I have to fix that.

Unknown - I was driving the car on a highway, there were no alerts and my engine light was not on, and my car started smoking and within 5 minutes my car was completely on fire. After the fire was put out, the whole front of the car was gone and then engine looked melted.
Transition light it pulls when put into gear and lost power when trying to accelerate when driving.
Back up camera screen glitches and goes black when backing up. I have to pull forward and try reversing again to get the camera to work. When backing out of my driveway it’s an inconvenience but backing out of a parking space is a much bigger issue. Half way out of the space it will glitch distorting the picture or goes black with no picture.
Back up camera, and touch screen go completely out. . . The whole system will not come back on until vehicle is shut off and restarted. This has happened multiple times now.
Vehicle display more often than not shows "rear view camera not available" or a distorted image when reversing.
Multiple vehicles of the same year make and model had the shifter cable fail within a short amount of time. Car would not change gears properly. Problem confirmed and fixed by local mechanic shop. No inspections. No warning lights or messages prior to failure.
I need help to get the recalls done on the vehicle I purchased and was never warned of any issues and now stuck and Ford service is dwnyinf the repair recalls and I cannot afford or find financing. Please help.

The problem is the rear backup camera and I know Ford has recently issued recalls for certain models due to the camera being broken. The problem is that this is a 2015 model Fusion and is being excluded from that recall but is having the exact same problems stated. It includes the camera not working, black lines appearing across the screen, or just flickering on and off. I think Ford should expand their rear camera problem to more years because it doesn’t stop at 2016 models.
Rear view camera goes crazy when in reverse, sometimes shows a blank white screen, sometimes a message appears that the camera is not available and to contact a dealer, it will randomly activate while driving forward sometimes immediately after putting it in drive and other times after driving forward sometimes immediately a while after continuously driving for a while without having put it in reverse at at point. It also has no sound through any setting: radio, satellite, or bluetooth.
The backup camera works intermittently. Showing a black screen and telling me to see a dealer.
Internal transmission bearing know for the TSB 19-2391. There was no threat to my safety or others. Yes the problem has been confirm with the dealer. The components has been inspected by an authorized Ford dealer, shaker Ford in watertown, CT. There were nothing other than a humming noise coming from the transmission.
My back up camera glitches out where it works one moment and then it doesn’t an I get a message says that the back up camera doesn’t work to call dealership.
Shift actuator wouldn’t go into gear I was stranded a few times had to be towed twice. I’ve found a plastic bushing that showed a $4. 00 part could be responsible. Deadly for us disabled vietnam veterans . I can’t walk. Maine has 200 vehicles with the same issues nationwide who knows supposedly the actuator will not be made by Ford motors until February 2026. I’m 76 years old this is a hazard I can’t afford to buy another car. Please help us. Or get stranded in the middle of nowhere freezing cold thank you.

Rear view camera has distorted image or changes to a blue screen before saying camera unavailable. It is an intermittent issue that has been happening over many months. No accidents or injuries have been caused.
Back passenger seatbelt won't work. Mirror sensors go off randomly when no cars are around when I'm in reverse. Backup camera malfunctions and the screen turns black.
During a road trip, received an error message indicating "shift sys fault" after the vehicle would not shift out of park. Upon inspecting the vehicle, it was noticed that the transmission linkage cable bushing was missing. The error message had appeared the day before, but the vehicle would still shift and the error message went away after a few seconds. I was unable to recover the original bushing as it was missing when the vehicle was inspected after the error message. Luckily the error did not happen while driving and instead was noticed while the car was in park. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than myself, and I was able to buy a replacement bushing from a local dealership to replace the missing bushing.
