Tl-the contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 mph, the brake light illuminated continuously. The vehicle was taken to heritage Ford 2100 sisk rd, modesto, CA 95350 for an oil change and the contact informed the dealer about the failure. The dealer informed the contact brake fluid was put into the vehicle in order to repair the failure. The vehicle was repair however, a day later the failure recurred. The contact mentioned that a whole can of brake fluid was replenished in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they informed the contact the brake line was leaking fluid and the transmission was rubbing against the brake line. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000. Ak.

The contact was able to add transmission fluid. The contact stated that the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to autonation Ford marietta (located at 869 cobb pkwy se, marietta, GA 30060, (770) 674-6077) where it was diagnosed that an unknown component needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact just purchased the vehicle and noticed transmission fluid leaking onto the driveway. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 19v362000 (power train). The contact called the Ford manufacturer and was informed that the VIN was not included in a transmission recall and disconnected the call. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000.

Have a 2010 Ford Fusion. Lf cv axel seal was leaking. Took car in and had bushing, seal, and shaft replaced. Drove car 150 miles. Same exact issue. After researching this problem. This transmission leak is a "very" common problem with these cars. Not only did I pay hundreds of dollars to fix the leak with all new parts, but this leak can cause the transmission to blow. Ford needs to recall this and get the problem fixed. How does a person have all new parts put in to fix the leak and the problem still exist??? manufactures should have to stand by there products and fix such a major problem. Every time I drive the car it leaks fluid. What will be next to fix?? my transmission because Ford won't fix the problem.

Half shaft axel is leaking transmission fluid due to the shafts surface finish wearing down the components. This is a known issue with this make model and year. Very costly for consumers to fix and extremely unsafe for the driver and other motorists on the road as I was told it can cause your transmission to blow while driving and stop your car suddenly if not addressed. I only became aware of this dangerous situation when taking my car in for an oil change, due to only driving the vehicle 3,000 miles per year I only get an oil change once a year. Who knows how long this has been a problem.

Ford knows of the transmission fluid leak in the cars but Ford and NHTSA wont do a recall on them and it is costing thousands of dollars to fix. Ford ran a customer satisfaction program on it but the of course stopped it. I can not understand why the government would allow Ford to screw the public on a major repair.

Have a defective ptu - power transfer unit that needs replacing. It was leaking fluid and was told I need a whole new unit. I have read about numerous issues with these but a recall was never issued.

This is the second occasion in 2 years that I am having to have the transmission replaced in my car due to leaving axle seals that continue to leak transmission fluid after replacement. The car has a hard shift between 1st and 2nd gear as well as 2nd to 3rd. I have had the seals replaced three times. The cv joints have been replaced and the transmission was replaced in 2014. It is now 2015 and I am having the same issue I had last year with the same cost associated with the repairs. I am currently waiting on approvals from my extended warranty company to complete the needed repairs. This is also my 2nd complaint for this issue with safercar. Gov.

The driver-side transmission axle seal is leaking fluid. This is a known issue on multiple vehicles with the 6f35 transmission. It could become a safety issue if the transmission is allowed to get too low on fluid.

1. The power steering went bad in Dec. 2014/ cost $1600 to fix. Done at crossroads Ford in kearney ne. 2. Less than 1 month later in Jan. 2015, the transmission started leaking fluid and had other issues with shifting. Looks like now I'll have to put in a new transmission. 2010 Ford Fusion se with 109,000 miles.

Vehicle started leaking transmission fluid. It remained as small drips and not in any heavy volume. Took the vehicle to Ford to be diagnosed and mechanic stated that a bushel needed to be added to the transmission and the seal needed to be replaced. Mechanic also stated that the bushel is not currently installed in the vehicle (stock) but that Ford recommends that one be added. Total cost of the repair was around $1100. It doesn't seem very fair that Ford recognized that they needed to add that additional part to the car to keep it from leaking transmission fluid but hasn't issued a recall for the installation of the part. Instead they expect hard working americans to pay out of pocket for their mess up. One more reason to buy foreign - if american car companies want the support of the american consumer they should stop screwing them over for a profit and take care of their needs.

Similar story to other postings regarding automatic transmission: increasingly prolonged shifting between low gears (running at increasingly higher rpms before shifting), car periodically jerks forward when accelerating from 0, and now transmission fluid is leaking from left half shaft seal. Will cost over $500 to replace seal, but will take a few days for the dealer to get the "kit," because there are 2000 back-orders!!!! originally bought the car because of high ratings, and my disappointments with Honda and Toyota, and the rumor that Ford stopped building crappy cars - guess some things never change (except, of course, how much they charge for crap). Would love to find a decent, reasonably priced car, but suspect they no longer exist.

Vehicle shifts very abruptly when cold and first starting out, almost stalling out when pulling out into oncoming traffic. Looks like there is transmission fluid leaking out from a seal.

Transmission fluid leaks out of left side half shaft area. Ford has issue a TSB for the problem. My car is presently at a dealership waiting on parts. Parts are on national back order and Ford presently cannot give me a date when parts will be available.

Axle seal on drivers side had failed. I had to have seal and axle replaced, leaking large amounts of transmission fluid next to tire. Axle was replaced with redesigned part at my cost.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning while driving at 65 mph. The wrench light illuminated after the failure occurred. The contact was able to coast to the shoulder. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the failure could not be diagnosed but the dealer found transmission fluid had leaked at the driver front tire area and also stated that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the transmission and the brake fluid but the failure was not corrected. The contact also wanted to state that the vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times for unknown electrical failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was vehicle 57,000. Updated 08/27/lj the consumer stated while driving, the vehicle lost power to the wheels and the ability to steer became very difficult. The accelerator pedal became unresponsive. She was able to get to vehicle over to the side of the road, after she pulled over, the vehicle began to shake before she turned the engine off. Also, the wrench indicator light illuminated.

The transmission of the 2010 Ford Fusion slips and resulted in my inability to accelerate the vehicle in heavy traffic while traveling over the george washington bridge in new york city. The dealer, van bortel in rochester, NY, has had the vehicle for a transmission re-build and two additional times for a seal that leaked transmission fluid. I had another incident where I brought the vehicle to another dealer and they replaced additional components pursuant to a program fix from Ford (the van bortel should have performed, but did not). This is dangerous as I was lucky not to have been rear-ended by the 18 wheeler behind me at the time my transmission failed on the bridge!.

Driving on the west virginia turnpike at 65-70 mph when the rpm's jumped above 4 and lost all power to the engine. The engine was still running but had no power from the gas pedal to the engine. Pulled to the far right side of the road as I was going up hill into the truck lane and then eventually on to the berm as the trucks were now running faster than me going uphill. It was the most dangerous driving situation I have ever been through. I was able to locate a Ford dealership on the turnpike where I could leave the car for the necessary repairs. The repairs took a total of 25 days. Ford would not provide me with a loaner car as I bought the vehicle used and therefore no rental coverage even though the issue was a known issue due to faulty parts and a poor initial repair by Ford. I had to rent a vehicle in west virginia in order to complete my drive home and had to drop the rental in columbus. $185 + gas + deposit and resulting nsf fees in my checking account for a 12 hour car rental that Ford would not cover. Upon getting my vehicle back it ran smoothly until October of the same year. I took my vehicle to a national chain oil change company who advised that they could see transaxle fluid all the way to the back of the underbody of the vehicle. I took the car to my local Ford dealership who found that the repair completed in west virginia did not get the pan sealed properly and the fluid was leaking from the faulty seal, which they repaired but it took them 14 days to do so. Fast forward to may and another hard shift with a lurch forward and then no power from the gas pedal to the engine. Took it to the local dealership who could find no error codes and could not duplicate the issue. 5/13 - mother's day and it happens again but this time the engine light is now on and the car runs rough. Taking to dealership again tomorrow.

This vehicle was recalled for a known transmission issue in June 2010. Ford appears to have reprogrammed the computer to change shift points. Shifting is smoother but still it does not perform like a normal Ford transmission (I have driven Fords since 1964). Time out of service was one day. Jan 20, 2011 – while my wife was driving at approximately 55 mph, the transmission completely disengaged. There was no power and car had to coast to a stop on the side of the road. After sitting for the amount of time that was required for me to reach her I was able to drive the vehicle to the dealership about four miles away. The transaxle seal was leaking and fluid was low. The required parts were on backorder at Ford and we had to wait for parts. The vehicle was returned on Jan. 31, 2011 (11 days out of service). On Feb. 12, 2011, the vehicle was being driven by me at approximately 55 mph when the transmission again disengaged. I had to coast to the side of the road and call Ford road service for a tow. I parked the vehicle and turned the ignition off. I tried to start the engine to record the mileage and the engine would not run, acting as if the timing was completely out of sync. It bucked and missed fired as if the timing was not correct (I had experienced this once before when starting the vehicle one morning in late sept. 2010 but had not experienced it since that time – thought we had gotten some bas gasoline). On both occasions when the transmission has disengaged, the check engine, maintenance required and transmission service required was displayed on the dash by the computer but the dealer claims there was no error code recorded by the computer system. The transmission disengaged again ant highway on March 11, 2011. This is well documented on the web and will cause a death if Ford does not correct the problem.
