I have had the issue of hard shifting for about a year now. Today was very scary for me as I was maneuvering across traffic my car did not want to move. It made a high gear sound, as if it was revving in a high gear. It seemed as if the car was not shifted into the correct gear. After about 2 minutes it started to drive normally. It just seemed like the gears had slipped. I was lucky that it wasn't a busy time of day, as I would have been in trouble not being able to go above 2 miles an hour. I was at a fast food place and had the car in park gear. I than shifted it to drive and my car moved out into traffic normally for about 30 feet and than just seemed like it went out of gear because it barely moved.

Transmission started slipping really bad even down shifting so hard felt like u hit something luckily I had an extended warranty so it should be covered. It's been 11 days I still haven't gotten my car back. Looked online seems like a lot of people have this same problem. I think Ford should be investigated for another potential faulty transmission.

Transmission has delayed gear shifting, gear slipping and the engine revs without the car accelerating. To put it simply the transmission has failed. Twice!.

The transmission is slipping from 1st, 2nd and 3rd. And makes the car jerky and the car revs so high that it makes moving the car from a stand still a head ache meaning giving sufficient gap with the vehicle in front of me to avoid crashing into them. Manufacturers like Toyota have transmission that last more than 20 years and its really weird for a award wining car to slip transmission within ten years. Ford needs to issue a recall and get the car fixed as there is arund 563 ish known complaints and more than 1000 unknown complaints that are all caused by the transmission in the NHTSA page. Nhtsa kindly do the needful in serving consumers their need for reliable and safe products to drive on the road.

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the gears failed to shift, and the transmission would slip and jump gears. Also, the vehicle hesitated. On one occasion, when the vehicle was placed into park, it continued to move forward. A "see manual" message appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to wood house Ford (3633 n 72nd st, omaha, ne 68134, (402) 574-2600), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to a local transmission specialist, but was not repaired. The contact wanted to explore his options. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist because the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was 130,000.

Transmission slipping, shift extremely hard from 2nd to 3rd. Feels as if the motor and tranny is gonna fall out of the vehicle.

Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. While driving at 20 mph the contact's steering wheel locked up. The steering froze and would not turn at all. The steering very's from week to week and is un predictable. The transmission slips and will seize before going into gear. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the contacts home. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 180,000. Jw.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. While driving 75 mph on the freeway, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was pulled over to the road shoulder and would not restart. The vehicle was towed to an unknown location. Also, when the contact filled the tank with fuel, the engine made an abnormal sound. In addition, the transmission slipped and would not shift into the correct gear and the check engine indicator illuminated. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was 93,973.

2006 Ford Fusion: transmission slipping while driving. Slows down while on freeway and goes in out of gear. Took it to ammco and they recommend a rebuilt transmission. I see many of the same complaints they recalled focus and fiesta why not Fusion? it is the same issue that is in being settled now with the focus and Ford fiesta. Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. While driving various speeds, the power steering and transmission failed. Colley Ford (1945 auto centre drive, glendora, California 91741, (909) 592-4131) was made aware of the failure and replaced the battery, but the failure recurred. On more than one occasion, the transmission slipped (downshifted/upshifted) out of gear. The same dealer diagnosed that the rack and pinion was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired a second time. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

Transmission slips when accelerating. Was intermittent and now the car is not operating. Dealer said it was normal wear and requires a complete transmission replacement. The car has 122,000 miles mostly highway. The repair code I received was for damage to 3rd gear.

Transmission slips, hard, going 1st to 2nd. Transmission oil is black at 55,000 and the service "advancetrac" keeps coming on.

Complaints involving transmission slipping I brought it back a couple times and I think this problem should be looked into in motion this happens and every time we bring it back they say they can't find anything but when we get it back it works better then it starts doing it again please look into this thanks.

When turning on the windshield wipers to low setting, they initiate at full speed with small breaks in between going to the correct set wiper speed. Have to turn off completely several times in order for the correct setting to register finally. Automatic transmission has hard slipping shifting going from 1st to 2nd gear when accelerating from a stopped position, very similar to the Ford focus powershift transmission recall.

Transmission slips in and out of gear. Jerks voilently into pass gear. Slips into neutral and just revs at highway speeds. Coming down a hill it lurched forward almost sending my wife and I off a cliff. Very dangerous. Its also a common problem im finding with the awf21 trannsmissions. Should be recalled before someone dies. Numerous reports of these trannys failing over the internet with the exact same symptoms. Please help.

I was driving on the expressway when the wrench light came on. I went to see what the code was at autopart store and it read transmission over heating. About a week later same thing happened , I went to dealer and paid to put it on machine to find out same thing. Now I notice the transmission slips and acts funny and as of today light came on again. Now I will have to pay again to put on the machine. I read online how this is a problem with a lot of Ford Fusions. And Ford has no solution. Shouldn't Ford look into this problem better?.

Transmission started slipping and then failed completely. Had to have car towed to dealer. They say it needs transmission replaced. They say rust caused a hole in tubing and fluid ran out. Car has just more than 73,000 miles on it. Car serviced routinely,not driven in bad weather much.

It normally happens when accelerating. Sometimes it will happen while vehicle is already in motion. It feels like the transmission is slipping. It jerks very hard when shifting. I had this issue address at the Ford dealer on 30 Sep 2014 and they state they could not find the problem. Dealer shows mileage in and mileage out as the same. Doesn't appear that they drove it to find the issue.

I have had this car for 2 years now. I first had issues with the throttle body and my car shutting off at intersections and had that replaced within a year of buying the car. I have been having issues with the transmission slipping between 1st and 2nd gear for almost a year now. I first had seals replaced. The second time I had my cv joint boots replaced and found out they are wearing out the seals that are causing transmission leaks. The car is in the shop for the 3rd time because of the same transmission leaks and difficult shifting between 1st and 2nd gear and will most likely be getting a new transmission because the cv joints and seals have failed again within the 3 months of being replaced.

Vehicle received updated software in 2010 for the transmission via the recall. Continued with the same problem of shifting from park to drive and at higher speeds the transmission was slipping. Took it to three separate dealers and finally they did a visual and discovered the transmission was fried!!!! there weren't any codes off at the time either. Had to get a new transmission in 2011. Problem still was occurring, but not as severe. Problem now is it's getting worse again. Took in car again and was charged 100 dollars for a them to check it and no codes and they say no problem. I do have a problem. It's an intermittent thing that I can't duplicate spot on all of the time. I'm frustrated and scared to drive this thing. On top of that the dealer has had the car for 5 days without a rental. Frustrated that they recalled the car for the problem, but with the same problem they charge me for looking at it. Shouldn't have to get a new transmission every 30,000 miles. Please advise on who to contact to get this resolved.

Loss of power, car would not go, stuck in busy traffic, shifts very hard transmission slipping. This has happened about tree or four times now. Called dealer they say they are unaware of problem, but it is all over the internet everyone having problems. Took it in but cost me 400 because of course it is out of warranty. Reprogrammed my transmission but now shifts at a higher rpm causing lower fuel mileage. They are having problems with the throttle bodies going bad because this was a collaboration with Mazda. Very expensive repair. No way these should be going bad at 70k. They need to replace transmissions at their cost.

As reported multiple times these transmissions begin to slip very badly. While trying to merge into traffic almost 90% of the time hot or cold at about 40mph when you press the gas the transmission will slip leaving you hanging out to dry(this is extremely dangerous). . . When downshifting sometimes around 20mph there will be a loud banging under the drivers side area. . . The TSB was issued way back in 2007 regarding all these issues but no recall. . . The floor mats were recalled? but not this issue. All over the internet you see the insane amount of people having this same issue due to the aisin transmission they used. . . . Same problem occurred in multiple makes and models of vehicles with same transmission components. They say replace the transmission "valve body" or aka control assembly. . . Its only $2,000 if you havent already burnt up the whole transmission then its $4-5k.

My Ford Fusion v6 sel has been slipping since 50,000 miles. I have had 2 minor transmission changes within the past 3 years. Today me and my kids were driving about 20-35 mph around town when the transmission slipped. The car would not respond to accelerating on the gas pedal. I tried placing the car into low gear, reverse with nothing happening. This was on a busy intersection, the car final after forcing me and my kids to jerk forward started to work again. Each time I stopped at a stop light the car took 1-2 minutes to rise above 20 mph. I finally made it to my house which has a small slant on the drive way and the car struggled just to make it in the garage. This was the most embarrassing day of my life!!!! the car clearly is out of warranty and each time I look up TSB's I see more and more 2006-11 Ford Fusion postings. Being a Ford fan my whole life I must say if nothing is done with this complaint I will no longer support Ford and will encourage other not to as well. The next steps are to go to the Ford dealership and do a diagnostic. I may also try a major transmission change, my fear would be to do a transmission change with zero confidence that this will fix the problem!!! Ford must keep quality and safety in mind with every car they sell especially a 1st generation model.

2010 Ford Fusion -- had to replace trans axle due to poor surface roughness on part and it wore the seals, found by puddle of tranny fluid in garage. A known issue, Ford had a kit to repair. Local trans shop found about the issue. Of course no recall. Now transmission slips while accelerating, and decelerating before jerkily shifting in gear.

I was driving up a steep hill when the transmission began to slip in and out of gear. Several very loud clunking noises were heard under the vehicle like the transmission was not working properly. I began to slow down on a busy road with several car behind me due to the fact that the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle directly behind me almost ran right into the rear end of the car with my 7 week old son in the back. When I took it to the dealership they followed the TSB 08-24-1 recommendations and said that I needed a new transmission. This vehicle is very dangerous to drive now. I will not take it on the road due to the fact that it will not accelerate at times. This problem only occurs after about 1 hour of driving the vehicle. A recall is needed!.

My Fusion has become erratic in low gear shifts. When trying to merge into traffic and turn onto a highway it will act as though it is in neutral and I have no power to get out in traffic. I have been almost hit on a major highway do to this mechanical failure. I took the car to a dealership for repair and they informed me that it was low on transmission fluid and they repaired a seal and reprogrammed it as Ford directed. I took the car on a trip and I was unable to merge into traffic again and it ran at over 5000rpm on the highway for long periods of time. It finally flipped a code and I returned it to the dealership. They did a complete transmission overhaul and replaced over 15 parts. This took two weeks with them having to deal with Fords warranty department. I picked up the car on 6/6/2012 and it did not even make it to my place of work, 12 miles away, without the transmission slipping again and it remaining in neutral. This car is a death trap!! I called the dealership and they came and picked it up. It is now 6/12/2012 and I still do not have a car to drive. The dealership is fighting with Ford to have the complete transmission replaced. Ford has contacted me several times and it seems as though they do not care that this car is a danger to have on the road. I want my car back in working condition. I am pleased with my dealership of choice for service as they have been very polite and helpful with me. Ford has given me nothing to drive in the meantime. People, if you have this issue with your car make sure Ford hears your complaint. This is dangerous and unacceptable.

Transmission is slipping in gear, hesitating during shifts, or coming out of gear completely during acceleration. Also the transmission is shimmying down the road in certain gears. The car is getting to the point where it is unsafe to drive and this is my family car.

We started having problems with the transmission in our 2006 Ford Fusion in early 2012. We replaced the transmission in April when it had roughly 65,000, with a used transmission. It was fine for a few months, and now we are having hard shifting and transmission slippage. The car has around 70,000 miles now. I have heard of this issue by many Fusion owners, and Ford refuses to do anything about it. It is in my opinion that the transmissions in this car need to be recalled.
