1 Transmission Gear Indicator problem of the 2016 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 08/10/2020

On Monday 08/10/2020 park my vehicle in the morning and then came back to the car in the afternoon. It had started and was able to move the shifter but with no result from the transmission and no gear indication on display. Vehicle had to be towed and taken to a Ford dealership the next day. Advised that the shifter cable was broken and needs to be replace. Was informed that my car was ready for pick up on Friday 08/15/2020. On Monday 08/17/2020 had taken vehicle back to the dealership to adjust shifter cable linkage because the shifter was found that it could accidentally shift into neutral from drive with the smallest amount of pressure. Dealership verified that cable shifter required adjustment. On Thursday 08/20/2020 vehicle was completely repaired by Ford dealership.

6 Transmission Gear Indicator problem of the 2011 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 08/23/2013

I was driving my 2011 Ford Fusion sel to work this morning and experienced the following. . . . While accelerating from second to third gear my car would slightly jerk. Suddenly my car stopped accelerating and the wrench light comes on. The car is still running but I cannot accelerate. It was a good thing I was able to pull over because this could have caused a serious accident. Once I pulled over, I placed my car in park and restarted it within 2 minutes. This all happened in the morning during morning traffic. Fortunately, my office was less than a mile away and I managed to make it. During my lunch break, I had a CO-worker follow me to the goodyear about 4 miles away. The same situation happened twice during the drive there. I officially received the cause of the problem, a defective throttle body with the code being p2111. The repair will cost 510. 00. . . I did not realize that there are so many others that has had this issue. Lives could be lost over this. I thank god that I was in the position to get over. Nhtsa please address this with Ford. Lives should not have a price.

7 Transmission Gear Indicator problem of the 2013 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 07/08/2013

I drive a 2013 Ford Fusion, which I purchased new from an authorized Ford dealership. By 3772 miles, the car began to downshift violently, upshift around 6 or 7 thousand rpms, not shift at all, the heated seat would come on by themselves with no indicator lights, the transmission gear indicator light stays on when the car is off and no key inside, the radio turns on and off at will when the car is parked and locked up, a severe odor of mildew comes from the a/c when first comes on, the trim molding keeps coming off, the car has lost a significant amount of power, the led lights in the tail lights stay on all night even after the car is turned off, and etc. These problems are inconsistent in nature with no identifiable conditions causing the series of non-conformities. Ford motor company hasn't been able to fix the car after numerous attempts. I am currently in arbitration.

8 Transmission Gear Indicator problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 11/30/2009

My car had 2 problems. First, was the powertrain transmission. It's the same situation as what others described, but my car started malfunctioning on the month we bought new and less than 100 miles. I don't have the specific miles and dates because I'm recalling from 2009 and it's now 2013. When I tried to change the gear from drive to park is when I first noticed the problem. I felt a sticking on the gear and a slight awkward movement of the car. I told the Ford service department where I bought it in elizabethtown, ky. Not sure when, but not right away and they didn't do anything. Then, a few months later, the car seem like it's changing gear on it's own, but I was on a flat road and have not touch the gear shift or not push the gas pedal any less or more, or braked. It did this a few times, so I took it, but again, the dealership did not do anything. Then, later, I made a right turn to a highway with heavy traffic, but clear when I entered. My car accelerated for a second, then just wouldn't accelerate anymore, and a car got pretty close. Finally, it went. I took it as soon as I can to a dealership in columbus, GA. Because an accident could have happened and was scary. But, they only checked the computer system. Nothing was done. Then, same scary thing happen on the highway again and again. Finally, I took it in 2012 and told them they have to fix this before we get into an accident. Finally, they fixed it after many times of trying and before an accident occurred. It was diagnosed with transmission problem and have not had any problem since 8-1-2013 at around 37,000 miles on it. This time it's the throttle assembly, but, they fixed it right away here in hawaii. This time it just loss acceleration while driving on the road. Thankful that my kids and I made it safely on the side of a busy intersection.
