36 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2011 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 08/21/2013

While driving the car shuddered, lost power, had no gas peddle response and ran very rough. Put car in park and shut off. Turned ignition, car turned over for 10-15 seconds as if starving for fuel. Finally caught and ran for about 2 miles, then happened again. In a span of 4 miles it did this three times. A few days later it did the same thing 3 times in a matter of about 10 miles. That time was on the highway doing 65 mph.

37 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 08/18/2013

Vehicle lost power and would not respond to accelerator, just prior to entering freeway on ramp. Wrench icon appeared on console. Fortunately, no one was following, so was able to pull over to side of road safely. Car began to shake. Turned off car - was able to restart and get home safely. Reviewed symptoms on line - consistent with throttle body issue, which appears to be a frequently reported problem with the Fusion. Took the car to the dealer next day - confirmed it was defective throttle body. Service manager indicated this is a common issue with the Fusion, and they see one or two a month at just this dealer. Part had been backordered for some time, but luckily had just come in, so vehicle was repaired same day (out of warranty, of course - 3 year old car with 40000 mi). Seems like this is a known problem with potential safety implications that Ford is well aware of - why isn't this the subject of a recall and replacement before this happens to someone at 70mph?.

38 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 08/17/2013

2 days in a row, driving 40-50 mph and my car completely loses acceleration. The wrench light goes on. I have to roll to a stop on the side of the road while the car shakes like it is stalling out. I turn the car off and wait a minute or two then turn the car on and everything is back to normal, no wrench light, no problems. . . Until it happens again. This is very dangerous as I have a 10 month old daughter to drive around and wouldn't want to put ourselves in a dangerous situation on a busy road or highway. After researching online this problem seems to be a reoccuring issue with many Fusion owners around the country. Please help.

39 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 08/17/2013

On 8/17/13 while driving down the highway at 65 mph, my car went into (limp mode) would no long accelerate, we safely pulled to the side of the road and the car began to shake violently. We put the car in park and shut it off, we restarted the car and it worked fine, the next occurrence occurred 9/1/13, while accelerating up a freeway ramp, all the same symptoms, again the car restarted fine. Third occurrence 9/2/13 while driving 35 mph on the street. It seems it is the throttle body. My car is no longer under warranty, I called the Ford dealership and they are on "back order for the part," I was also told this part "goes out all the time. " I am told it can be up to 1 month for the part to come in! my car is not drivable and is a safety hazard. Luckily, the past three occurrences I was able to pull safely over, but I can not risk, driving it any longer. I am stuck.

40 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 08/15/2013

I had just started and was exiting a retail establishment. I was driving down a slight incline approaching a stop light when the car started shaking and dramatically lost speed. The wrench light came on which according to the manual indicates a possible powertrain/transmission issue. I turned the car off and then restarted (in the middle of the road) and drove to a safe location. I was lucky that at the time I was driving at a slow speed and approaching a stop light. If a car had been behind me someone would have been injured.

41 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 08/12/2013

Driving at 45 mph, car loses power and/or acceleration. Wrench light illuminates and pulled car to side of road and vehicle shakes terribly. Shut car off and waited a couple of minutes and restarted car. Wrench light was not on and car ran fine. This problem has occurred on three more occasion within a week. Dealer could not find any codes but stated it would be a problem with the throttle body, even driving the car by a mechanic with a diagnostic tester, they could not duplicate the problem. This is a serious safety issue that Ford evidently does not want to fix under warranty because their is no code yet. Their are a lot of complaints on this issue on the internet. Ford needs to recall this part.

42 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 07/27/2013

While driving on the interstate, approx. 65-70 mph, the vehicle shudders, loses all throttle response, and the wrench light and check engine light illuminate on the dash display. The vehicle does not shut off or stall, but it does enter limp mode. Once the vehicle is shut off and restarted the wrench light is no longer illuminated and the vehicle will operate normally. This situation repeated 4 different times on the incident date. After speaking with the service manager at the local Ford dealership the problem was acknowledged as a defective throttle body.

43 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 07/22/2013

Today I was driving through a residential neighborhood at about 20 mph. My car slowly started to lose power. I was able to pull off to the side of a road in a parking lot where the vehicle began to shake violently. I put the car in park and turned the car off immediately. Upon restarting, I was able to begin to drive and the car drove for several miles as normal. Then, the car seemed to lose power again, quicker this time, and shake violently. I was on a busy road with one lane of traffic and could very nearly have been rear ended. It appears to be the throttle body, as so many other reviewers have claimed. What is not understandable is that the part is back ordered. Even though my husband can repair it himself, we'll have to wait for the part and wait to have a car back. As a full time teacher, I am not sure how Ford has not recalled such a consistent issue that takes away from the reliability of their automobiles. I hope someone can address this issue immediately and place a recall on this part. I am so disappointed in Ford products.

44 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 07/17/2013

I was driving at 35 mph all of a sudden my wrench icon came on and lost acceleration. I was able to pull to the side of road and the car started to shake and wanted to stall. I shut off the car for a min and started it back up. It hesitated but it did finally start up. I drove 2 miles and it did it again. Since then this happens frequently without any warning and at varied speeds. This problem has happened a few times on the highway and my children and myself almost got rear ended. My engine light came on I had it tested and the code was p2111 tac stuck open. The problem is the throttle body. This problem is very serious and dangerous.

45 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 07/13/2013

I was traveling down the freeway when the wrench light appeared on my dash without warning and all throttle control was lost. I pulled to the side and restarted the car. All lights went off and the car drove normally for less than a 1/2 mile when it happened again. The wrench light reappeared, throttle was lost and the car began to shake as it showed down. Pulled off and restarted again. Same thing happened just a few yards down the road, except now the cel lit up as well. Pulled to the side again--car shook violently as it slowed. Had to get towed to the dealer. Had the freeway been busier I probably would have been rear-ended.

46 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 06/30/2013

Travelling in left lane at approx 60 to 65 mph, car begins to shudder and stalls. Narrowly avoided being rear ended by large truck, was able to pull over. Restarted car and engine light appears. Car is barely idling while in park. Attempt to drive again, car accelerates and shifts fine until reaching 50mph and stalls again. This event was repeated several times. Was able to drive car as long as it remained below 50mph. Got home, let car cool and started it again to find the engine light is now off. I'm sure this is just another instance in what seems to be many instances like this occurring. I have no other choice but to drive this car until a part can be found which after reading these testimonies seems can be a long wait. This is an obvious issue that should be addressed by Ford immediately. I do not feel safe in my own car. Unacceptable.

47 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2011 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 06/22/2013

I was leaving a shopping center and had to a stop to yield to traffic. When I placed my foot on the accelerator, I noticed that the car seemed to have lost power. I could not accelerate above10 mph. I also felt the car shaking violently. The check engine and mechanic's wrench warning lights on the dashboard illuminated. I pulled to a stop at the gas station, shut off the engine and re-started the vehicle. Afterwards, the warning lights on the dashboard were no longer illuminated, and the car seemed to return to normal. A few miles down the road (on a highway where the speed limit is 50 mph), I came to a stop at a traffic light. Once the light turned green, I attempted to accelerate but found that my car had lost power once again and could hardly move. The check engine light was also illuminated again. I was stuck in the left lane of the road with no shoulder to pull onto--a very dangerous situation. I put on my hazard lights, turned the car off and on again. Then, I was able to drive the car normally a few miles to my home. However, the engine light remained illuminated. I had the car towed to a repair shop because I considered it unsafe to drive. The shop informed me that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The part was on national back-order for over a week. . Clearly, this is a common problem for Ford Fusions. Considering the safety risks, I am very surprised that there has been no recall.

48 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 06/21/2013

I was driving no faster than 25mph this afternoon and all of a sudden, it felt as though my car was about to stall, and accelerating made the rpms go up, but the car wouldn't move. I pulled over, and felt my car shudder, so I turned it off. After about 30 seconds, I restarted, the restart was iffy, but the car finally was good for the last mile of my journey. Fast forward about 7 hours, coming home from dinner, and same thing happened. It's very scary! and tomorrow I have an appointment an hour away and am afraid it will happen while on the NJ turnpike! mind you, the first week I owned the car I had to bring it in for the same problem. They said it had transmission problems and Ford had it in their garage for two weeks. I hadn't really had a problem since then, but it appears this issue has resurfaced. Very unsafe. It's time for a government issued recall since Ford will not do one voluntarily!.

49 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 06/19/2013

I had the transmission failure light (wrench) come on twice driving home yesterday. The first time was from a stop light and then turning left. The car shuddered, the light came on and the car went into limp mode and wouldn't go more than 5mph. After pulling over and turning the car off, I was able to restart the car after 2-3 tries. Upon restart the light cleared and I was able to start driving home. About 2-3 miles later, on the highway, the problem happened again, traveling around 65 mph. Same symptoms, the car went into limp mode, I had no acceleration and couldn't go more than 5mph. The car shook and shuddered. After pulling over ( on the highway! ) I was able to restart it and limp home. I took the car to a dealer and they said the throttle body needs to be replaced. They currently have 7 Fusions on their lot with the same exact problem. This is a very dangerous problem as the car unexpectedly loses all acceleration and would seem likely to cause an accident. I was fortunate to be able to pull over and restart the car, but will not be driving the car until it is fixed as it is a severe safety hazard. One Ford seems to know about, having release a tbs, but needs to go further and issue a recall.

50 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 06/14/2013

Driving at highway speeds when I felt a shudder and realized I was losing forward momentum. Rpms dropped and the engine did not respond to stepping on the gas pedal. A wrench light illuminated on the dash. Only coasting, I was able to move the car to the side of the road and put it in park. Car had a very shaky idle, like it was about to stall. I turned off the ignition and waited for about 1 min, then tried to turn the car back on. Car took longer than usual to turn back on, but once it was back on it seemed fine. Was able to continue driving it to my destination without further incident. Five days after first incident, same even occurred again, with turning the car off and on seeming to correct the problem for the time. No electrical, braking, or power-steering power was lost.

51 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2011 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 06/12/2013

As I was driving down the road at 55 mph, with cruise control on, my car suddenly lost its ability to accelerate. I pushed the gas pedal and nothing would happen. As I slowed down on the side of the road the car began to shake. I turned the car off and started it back up and it ran fine for about 5 miles and did the same thing. After seeing all the complaints regarding the same thing, this car needs to be recalled!.

52 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 05/24/2013

I was driving on a major highway in town going about 45 miles per hour. The car started shaking violently and I could not accelerate. I had to Dodge moving traffic while my car shut down. I had to put the car in park, turn off the ignition, and restart the car. A yellow wrench light came on while the car was shaking. I was able to avoid getting into an accident, however I was fearful for my life. There needs to be a recall, especially with the number of complaints I have read. It is beyond me how this is not under warranty, considering my car is less than 5 years old and doesn't even have 40k miles on it. After a tow to the local Ford dealership, I was told (4 days later) that it was the throttle body and it's not covered under warranty.

53 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2011 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 05/09/2013

My wife in busy traffic at rush hour felt her car begin to shake badly, then lose power, she coasted to the side of the road nearly being hit by passing traffic. At the time the wrench light came on, we brought the vehicle to Ford on may 10th, picked it up on June 10th, on June 11th the same problem. . . This car is again at Ford dealership with what is being called a throttle body issue. We were scheduled to travel over 900 miles each way at the end of this month and have chosen an alternative. We're not even sure that we'll have our vehicle back. This is a very scary situation, in researching I'm finding many complaints for this same issue and it doesn't appear close to having a solution.

54 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 05/05/2013

I was traveling at 65mph down the freeway when there was a sudden jolt and the accelerator pedal stopped responding and the engine idled at 500-600 rpm. The engine and wrench lights came on. I slowly pulled over to the side of the road. The car was shaking badly. I turned the car off and restarted again and the problem went away. I took off but in less than 2 minutes it happened again. I had to tow the car to the dealer. Turns out it's the electronic throttle body (part# ds7z9e926a) and they charged me $380 to replace it. This is a known issue with this make and model vehicle. I'm surprised Ford issued a recall on "suspected" faulty wheel studs but not an issue as big as throttle body with numerous complaints. This is a very dangerous problem especially if it happens in heavy traffic or in the middle of an intersection.

55 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2011 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 04/24/2013

Driving on state highway at 55 mph. Vehicle shuddered, then lost power though engine was still running. No response when accelerator pressed. "wrench" warning light on. Pulled off the road, turned engine off. Restarted engine. Warning light off. It happened again twice yesterday and once today so far. Took it to the Ford dealer who said there was no code showing on the computer diagnostics. Mechanic drove car and was unable to reproduce problem. Instructed to return vehicle to dealership if problem persisted, which I expect it will. Dealership said they suspect a throttle body problem, but since the code didn't show on the diagnostic and the car is under and extended warranty, they cannot replace it until it does.

56 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 04/12/2013

This has happened several times. As I am driving down the road both accelerating or at a constant speed, the wrench light will come on and the vehicle with no longer have throttle abilities. I have to pull off to the shoulder of the road because nothing works. As the vehicle stops and I shift into neutral, the vehicle shakes excessively. I shut the vehicle off, wait a minute, turn it back on and the wrench is gone and the vehicle runs properly until the next occurrence. Ford has been notified about this for years and refuses to put out a recall on the throttle body which is the problem.

57 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2011 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 04/09/2013

Driving on highway at 65 miles went car would lose power and couldn't accelerate and car started to shake when came to a stop, cut car off, waited a min, cut car on, took a couple extra cranks before turning over, and car worked fine this had happened 3 times and is very random and dangerous.

58 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2011 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 01/13/2013

Vehicle began to shake, would not accelerate, wrench light came on.

59 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 12/31/2012

I have a i4 2010 Fusion, started to notice in the city that it wanted to chug forward. Started to get worse and worse and then the light came on, once the light came on totally down will. When I was sitting at the light I would just take it out of gear because the car was shaking violently. I did look online and someone mentioned unplugging the battery and letting it reset. Well it actually worked for a little bit and its starting to do it every now and then.

60 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2011 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 12/03/2012

Driving a 2011 Ford Fusion sel awd 3. 0l 6-cyl traveling approx. 65mph on interstate 88, vehicle shuddered, wrench light lit and no throttle control. No power. I nearly was rear ended due to significant speed reduction. Re-cycle of the engine causes the light to go out and you can continue on your drive. An identical event (set of symptoms) happened in traffic two weeks earlier at approx 20mph after leaving a stop light. I experienced a loss of all power in traffic causing my car to nearly be struck. When recycling the engine, the code that causes the wrench light to come on is re-set and Ford is unable to detect the error and refuses to correct the problem. There is significant evidence on the internet that these symptoms are pointing to a failure in the throttle body (electronic throttle control). I feel that this is a safety issue that needs to be addressed immediately by Ford who needs to diagnose by symptom as well as by code. Their software does not preserve a safety critical code across vehicle re-starts which is a major issue in my opinion. Ford warranty does not want to recognize the issue or replace the "throttle body" without a code being captured but their software is not designed to preserve the code (catch 22).

61 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 10/27/2012

Throttle body failure: fist occurrence- driving on highway all of a sudden no power. Pressing on the gas nothing happens. No check engine light came on. Pulled off to the side of highway and put the car in park. The car starting shaking and the wrench light came on. Turned car off, then back on and everything was okay. About 6 hours later this happened again as I was passing in the fast lane, then suddenly lost power. Again, no check engine light. Same scenario as the first. Took it to my mechanic and no error codes register. He checked twice. So for a week and a half the car was fine. Then happened twice again, no warning, just lost power. This time a check engine light came on after I put the car in park. Had it towed to the auto shop and a code did register this time. Had it taken for Ford and they had to replace the throttle body. This was a very dangerous situation especially when speeding up to pass as the speed limit on that part of the highway is 75 so cars were coming up fast behind me. If I had caused an accident and injuries occurred the fist or second time it happened on the highway, it would have seemed my fault and there would have been no error codes to at least validate what happened. Please, please, issue a recall for the throttle body before someone is hurt. Not to mention the people just out of warranty that have to pay for this repair.

62 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 10/11/2012

My 2010 Ford Fusion showed an orange/yellow wrench and the car began to shake violently on interstate 75 north. I was traveling at 70mph when this happened, and the car completely shut off. After avoiding collisions I had it towed and repaired at Ford. I have contacted Ford to be reimbursed, as many others have been. However, I was told that since I had only owned/registered one vehicle with Ford, that I was not considered a loyal customer, so they could not reimburse me.

63 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 09/28/2012

The wrench light came on and stayed on steady and the car suddenly lost all engine power. Headlights stayed still on and hazard lights worked. I tried starting the car but pressing the gas pedal produced no movement of the car nor any increase in engine sound. After trying to start it several times, it seemed like it started but not a normal start. The engine appeared to be very rough but again, no fast engine sound. It kind of limped to the side of the road which was on a very slight incline. No pressing of the gas pedal produced any significant movement of the car. The car was violently shaking as it limped to the side of the road at maybe 2 miles per hour. Once I got it to the side of the road out of traffic, I did turn it off. I gave it about 30 seconds and it started normally. No more wrench light. It seemed to work fine after that. I drove home ? about 90 miles with no further problems. I reported the problem to our local Ford dealer. The dealer has been supportive. Ford motor company has not been supportive. When I called the Ford dealer explaining the symptoms, the service coordinator?s first question was, ?is it a Fusion?? he already knew it was a common problem with Fusions. He said that I am not going to like what he had to say. He said that Ford will not allow him to do the 30-minute repair unless a code is available in the obd unit. I brought it in and no code was found. They tried for two days to get it to code. The service manager pleaded with Ford?s upper level to allow the repair but they were inflexible. Their response ? ?no code, no repair. ? Ford?s customer relationship center was useless! they offered no help. The local dealer had six cars the week after my car died with the exact same issue as mine. I was placed back on the road with Ford knowing I would again be stranded. It happened again 4 weeks later.

64 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 09/22/2012

I was traveling down the highway when my car stopped getting power when I pressed the gas. A yellow wrench warning dash light came on, the car started shaking and had no power when trying to accellerate to get over a lane to get off the road to avoid an accident. I luckily got over with my hazard lights on and coasted to the shoulder where the car finally stopped but did not shut off or die. The car idled and continued to shake so I poped the hood and checked the transmission fluid level. The level was slightly low which was strange cause I had to add half a qt of trans fluid the month before because the shifting was rough. The fluid was very dark colored and smelled scorched. I shut the vehicle off and let it sit for about 10 minutes then I checked the oil, ok. I turned the car back on, added a little more trans fluid and the car seemed to be ok to get me the rest of the way to work. I left it in a parking lot for the night and returned to check it out in the light. I jacked it up and found some fluid slowly comming out of the place where the axle goes into the transmission. I called the Ford service center, explained what happened and explained what I found. I had the recall for the transmission done in 2011 for Ford Fusion 2010s but the rough shifting has been a problem since I baught it. I have had constant trouble with the transmission shifting rough and now losing all power while driving on the highway at 55mph. It almost caused an accident. My car is now at 76,800 miles and Ford service rep says the bill is on me cause the powertrain warranty is up and the recall for the same problem doesnt cover me anymore. I want my car fixed with this problem and I cant afford to keep going to the shop every time this keeps acting up. Ford needs to fix the problem with their transmissions before someone gets hurt by this. Luckily my 1yr old daughter was not wih me this time.

65 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 09/17/2012

I recently bought a 2010 Ford Fusion with 45000. 00 miles on it. After having owned it for only about 2. 5 months I am having problems. While driving down a 4 lane highway at 55 miles per hour it it almost stops in the middle of the highway and will not accelerate. It does this with no warning. I am able to pull over to the shoulder and the car begins to shake as I come to a complete stop. Once I turn the car off the wrench light goes out I am able to start it back up. It has happened several more times. Today it happened in the middle of a busy intersection. The Ford dealership in my area when I called said it would be hard to diagnose because the problem is intermittent. By reading the complaints from everyone on the 2010 Ford Fusion this a common problem with this model. The issue seems to be the throttle body. My fear is that someone will slam into my car not realizing it has stopped in the road. I really think it is a safety issue and cannot believe with being such a wide spread problem Ford has not done something to correct it before someone is injured from what appears to be a defective part they have put on their cars.

66 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 09/11/2012

I have a 2006 Fusion this problem started a year ago. First my car shakes, when driven 20mph and try to accelerate it has a hard time picking up speed it misses. So I had my spark plugs changed twice in the last year because I thought that's what was wrong. I took it to my local good year and they noticed that I've had my spark plugs changed with them twice so, the mechanic took my car apart and found that my 5th cylinder was bad and that it was burning through my coils. 2 years ago I had issues with my balls joints on my car front tires fixed it now, I am having the same problem my ball joints have clay in them how that happen I don't know. There is also a 3rd problem that I am having with my transmission. I came across this website to see if there were any recalls for my vehicle, of course it would be my luck nothing!!! I work for Toyota and they recall their vehicles all the time for any issue they have with their vehicles. I will never buy a Ford again!!!.

67 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2011 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 09/04/2012

While driving in the center lane on the southbound I-5 freeway my 2011 Ford Fusion began to feel like it was driving through mud and lost acceleration. When I attempted to compensate by accelerating the car, it resisted and continued to slow significantly. Thankfully traffic was not extremely heavy at the time and I was close to a freeway exit. I pulled to the right, avoiding oncoming traffic (barely) and coasted down the off ramp. By the time I got to the off ramp (about 10 seconds) the car had gone from 65 mph to less than 5 mph. If it wasn't for the momentum of the vehicle I would not have been able to make it and would have been at a dead stop in the middle of the freeway with oncoming traffic (and semi trucks) going between 60 and 75 mph. The engine was throbbing, the car was shaking, and I had no acceleration capability at all. I had enough momentum on the off ramp downslope to turn right and stop my vehicle at the side of the road. I called a tow truck and the car was taken to a dealership for repairs. I was told the throttle was the problem and it was replaced under warranty. Had timing not been exactly right, this problem could have caused a very serious or even deadly accident for me and for other drivers on the road. I have since learned about this ongoing issue online and wish I would have known at the time that it was a problem and known how / that I could submit a concern to the NHTSA.

68 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 09/01/2012

While driving my car on the expressway the wrench light turned on followed by the check engine light. The car started reducing speed even though I was pressing the gas. I pulled over to the side and the car started shaking. I had an obd ii machine in my car at the time and ran a diagnostic. Check engine code p2111 came up. After researching the code it says it has to do with the throttle body. I also noticed that there are so many discussion forums out there with people who are having the same issue.

69 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 08/11/2012

Driving down the road at 45mph and the car starts vibrating. All of a sudden I lose acceleration while my foot is still on the gas. Luckily I was able to pull over before the car lost momentum and stalled out. The wrench light was on. Had no warning at all. I shut the car off, waited about 2-3 minutes and tried to start it again. It turned over but after it struggled to. The wrench light then went off. This has happened four more times! each with no warning! I have looked on a number of sited that have the same complaint about this. There are hundreds of near crash cases and all with no warning. I love how this website says "your complaint information will be entered into NHTSA-odi's vehicle owner's complaint database and used with other complaints to determine if a safety-related defect trend exists" after numerous complaints and an obvious faulty part you still haven't seen a trend? are you kidding me?! today I just missed getting into an accident as the car decided to lose acceleration again as I was pulling out to make a turn across 4 lanes. The lanes were clear to go but oncoming traffic was coming. I was lucky that the person saw my flashers and had the room to move over and get out of the way. Apparently Ford wants a lawsuit on their hands because as soon as someone gets into an accident(if they have not already) you better bet they'll go after Ford. Especially since it is apparent that Ford has been made aware of this problem and still will not take responsibility for the fact something is wrong. You better believe that if I get hit because there product was not recalled because of a faulty part I'll be front and center with my lawyer and a news crew.

70 Vehicle Shudder problem of the 2012 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 08/06/2012

Was accelerating to get on the interstate and the car delayed in accelerating. Since it was a new car (purchased in June on 2012) I really didn't think much about it. Over the last two years, this problem happens intermittently with a delay/harsh shift, a grumbling/vibration in the car when shifting in lower gears from 2nd to 3rd. This also occurs during down shift between 3rd and 2nd gears causing the car to "lurch forward" as if you have been rear ended. I now have 69,000 miles on my car and the warranty is gone and every time I ask Ford to look at the problem they can't replicate the problem (trying to tell me that the way I drive my car is too harsh) they did reprogram the tcs and the last time I tried to make an appointment before my warranty expired, the service department called me back stating the following: "it sounds like you are having problems with your transmission and it will be 6-8 weeks before we can get the car in for service".
