Takata recall. In July of 2016, I received a notice informing me of a dangerous, faulty airbag inflator in my vehicle. The notice said I would be informed as soon as Ford is able to conduct a corrective repair/replacement of problematic part. It is now October 2017, and I still haven't received such a communication; I have confirmed this unavailability of remedial repairs online. The 15+ month wait time to have this potentially lethal defect corrected I consider unacceptable.

Although a recall notice was received, I took truck to the dealership, team Ford in steubenville, ohio and they told me they could not replace the inflator. The truck has 1500 miles on it and has been kept in a garage for the past 6 years. Is it safe to drive with a passenger in the car and how would I be able to get the inflator replaced? I am planning to move the truck to florida with someone riding in the passenger seat. Please advise what I need to do to have the manufacturer take action. Thank you.

Driver airbag inflator replacement. . Nhtsa recall number: 16v036 recall date: January 22, 2016 manufacturer recall number: 16s03 Ford has yet to contact me to let me know if the part is available, this is unacceptable. The recall says the driver side airbag inflator could rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the supplemental frontal airbags are designed to deploy. If this occurs, it may increase the risk of injury or death to the occupants. If it is this serious, than why am I still driving this vehicle, I should be in a rental until this recall is accomplished. There are already deaths involved , this is why there is a recall. I was in a minor accident on November 23, 2016, I am blessed that my airbag didn't deploy, now I'm more worried than ever.
