2 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2012 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 07/01/2017

The problem has occurred multiple times and with no luck of diagnosis. But my vehicle has lost all electrical function lights, dash cluster, heat, etc. Has done this on different occasions but seems to fix itself but then does it again. With that being said now on top of that my vehicle is stuck is now stuck in anti theft mode where the vehicle is no longer drivable. I can not start the vehicle, I have had keys reprogrammed and the car look over multiple times with absolutely no help diagnosing the issue. I have done some research on my own and found that there are a lot of other people who have been having the same problem with no success getting the problem fixed. The first time it occurred was 7/01/17 and has continued off and on up to date and has now like stated earlier has now manifested into the anti theft not allowing car to be started rendering in non drivable at this time.

5 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2007 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 12/24/2011

I had driven my car in the am and it would not start in the afternoon. I called for a tow on Monday, after the holiday. The symptoms presented at the time of failure were: the car did not start, and the anti-theft light was blinking. The car was jumped and the vehicle was brought in for service. The dealership could not find any problems. Today, the car stopped working again, same issues. This time I did not allow the car to be jumped. Instead, it was towed to the dealer who was able to run a better diagnostic which appeared to be the alternator, but it could also be the computer. In researching the issue on my own, this seems to be a major problem with Ford cars and has been for years. Some were driving when the car just 'shut down. The following are just a few of the complaints that I've found. . Read more...

10 Anti-theft Controller problem of the 2001 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 07/07/2007

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus. While driving the vehicle the anti-theft light will come on. The vehicle will shut down without warning. I was driving on interstate 75 in TN. The speed zone is 70mph. The car shut off and I was almost hit in the rear by a semi truck. I had my entire family in the car with me at the time. This is not an intermittent problem. I took the car into a Ford dealer and I was told it was the ignition. It was replaced and two weeks later the same thing started. Now I am told it is a gem module, or, pcm module, several other things. This to me is a very dangerous vehicle. When the car quits running, and you lose all power, and control of the vehicle, from brakes to steering. Even the steering wheel locked down. It took 2 hours before the car would restart. This has occurred over 20 times. This problem is not only dangerous to the driver, but other drivers on the road. It will one day kill people.
