Brought car into three different dealer to diagnose why all dash lights were coming on and off. Each time the pcm was wiped clean and was told they were unsure. The last time I brought the car in was for a possible bad speedometer reading as was pulled over for going 70 in a 55 as which speedometer was reading 55. Brought in for both concerns and determined that the abs module was bad and the instrument cluster is bad also. Speedometer being off is a safety hazard for all and should have no reason to go out. No telling how long speedometer has been out, but the abs module started problems around 90,000mi.
I have a 2006 Ford Taurus and within the past couple of months it will die while sitting at a redlight. I have to turn of the ignition and restart the car and that usually solves the problem. This has happened about 6 times in the past 2 months. Today, however, it stalled at a redlight and I restarted but as I continued driving, the rpm would drop rapidly when I hit the breaks and it acted like it would die. I continued driving and was going about 45 miles an hour and all of the sudden all the odometers dropped to zero and everything on the dashboard went out. I pushed the gas pedal and then everything came back on. Very strange and now I'm worried the car might die when I'm actually driving and not sitting at a redlight.

While driving down an interstate at approximately 65 mph, the electrical system in my 2005 Ford Taurus shut off. All of the gauges went dead. The car did not stall, but I slowly started decelerating the car. Five seconds later, the system suddenly restarted like nothing had happened. I called the local Ford dealer where the car was purchased and they stated that if they can't reproduce the incident, there's nothing they can do about it. The car has approximately 102,000 miles on it.

I have a 2003 Ford Taurus se, while driving on the freeway I tried to make a phone call home. At the time my phone could not connect, I re-tried the phone call my phone made a clicking sound, simultaneously my dash board blinked out and reset to all the wrong information. When I exited the freeway I pulled over and restarted my vehicle everything reset correctly. I contacted Ford, they said it was a voltage spike. I then talked to a good friend in the research and development dept. At a competitor. He told me that certain types of cell phone signals will interfere with the electronic devices in some vehicles. I think that Ford should take this a bit more seriously because if this is a problem that this model Taurus has, it should be addressed.

The interior light continues to remain on and the dash readout indicates that there is a door open when there actually isn't. As a result, the driver's side door will not lock as long as the car believes there is an unlocked door.
