Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings Problems of Ford Windstar

Rotted rear axle beam , 2002 Ford Windstar , this vehicle was taken to a near by town Ford dealership : ace motors in woodbury NJ , for the rear axle recall in 2015 not sure if anything has been repaired or not I was just told by the dealership that the vehicle was inspected and passed and ok to drive but when the axle broke on the driver side I took pitchers and it looks like someone has put on some kind of slave clamps on both sides of the axle that I don't see on other Ford Windstar Mini vans ( see pitchers ) called up the dealership ace motors and they said to bring it up to them and they will have a look at it and maybe it can be put in a claim ticket but again maybe not , it's hard enough to put on a flatbed tow truck with the damage that it has and if some reason they don't put a claim ticket in I can't afford to keep towing this vehicle all over the place so dealership gave me the Ford I. N. C company phone number : 800-392-3673 , so I called them and more less they told me there is nothing they can do , one thing I'm happy about is we was going slow in my home town pulling off the main road onto a side road heading to the house when it happened and nobody got heart when it happened even though it was so loud and nosy think it broke a shook and brake lines . 8 / 8 / 2019.

The dealer located in the sandy spring rejected to the take remedy action on the recall 09s09. I complained to the dealer service department that the odometer is malfuntioning when it is in operation. It suddenly cause unknown acceleration when using the cruise control. It is also found out the brake hose is leaking as results of the speed control modification system by the local mechanic shop.

We were headed home on the freeway and turned onto our exit. My husband put his foot on the brake to start slowing the van down, but the pedal did nothing. He was able to stop the van by coasting and switching into reverse. He then got out and checked fluid which was full and checked the brake lines which were fine. There was no warning signs or anything that our brakes were going to fail. I am just glad that we were already at our exit and there was no other traffic! we had our 5 children in the van with us at the time. I have been researching and reading about the abs problems in our year Windstar and am hopeing Ford decides to take some action on the matter!.

The contact owns a 1998 Ford Windstar. The contact stated that the vehicle taken to a local mechanic for inspection of the sub frame when the contact was advised that the sub frame was severely corroded and that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The contact stated that the brake lines were also found to be corroded. The brake lines were replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the sub frame failure and denied any assistance with the repair. The sub frame was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 114,000.

I own a Ford Windstar esl 99, yesterday the wires of the sensor of the brakes fluid burned, I was lucky to be in a tire shop and they checked and disconnected it. I was told by a mechanic the van is on recall, he has sent me different articles from the internet about Ford fires recall that includes my vehicle model. Calling Ford recall information they said VIN# doesn't shows any recall. They took the complaint that I'm asking Ford to repair it even it is not in recall as they said but it is listed in other sources, they will investigate and let me know by mail in 10-15 labor days. I will have to take my van to a Ford dealer for my safety as I can't drive it without the sensor working properly. I want to complain in order to accelerate the Ford reimburse and that they include the 99 Windstar esl in their list, as it is in others, even attorneys having lawsuits currently against Ford. It happens to me already, and my experience could have been terrible. The failure didn't make any more damage than wires burned, so far. Abs light on, brake light on, brakes failed due to broken brake line. This is the second time this happened. On 2 different brake lines. We replaced both brake lines.

My vehicle has a brake line that blew. The line that blew is subject to a recall from Ford. (recall # 02s36). On the phone Ford says that the recall was completed in 2002 and therefore does not apply to this vehicle even though the problem is the same as outlined in the recall.

Consumer has a 1996 Ford Windstar. He took vehicle to dealer for recall 02s36 repairs. The brake line was inspected on July 21, 2003 as stated in recall. The brake line was considered not a problem that needed replacement. On August 14, 2005 the brake line ruptured while the consumer's wife was driving on city road. Has taken vehicle back to dealer and has contacted manufacturer, and they told him that the recall was considered closed because they had already performed inspection. He felt that recall repair did not fix problem due to problem recurring . He thought brake line may have ruptured due to rubbing and rust.

The rear brake line above the spare tire was rusted and blew apart when my wife hit the brakes to slow for a turning vehicle. This line is in a very bad spot. It is not visible and there is the greatest chance to hold moisture there. It is a safety issue. It only has 70,000 miles on it.

The consumer received a recall for the front portion of the brake line. The consumer felt that the entire brake line should have been included in the recall because the entire line on his vehicle was rusted. The consumer also stated that he was nearly involved in an accident due to the defect with the brakes. No recalls found. A leaking brake line was found.

While driving on the road and approaching a red light consumer applied the brakes and the vehicle did not stop. Consumer had the vehicle towed to the dealer. It was determined that when the brake pedal went to the floor fluid leaked. The brake line that led to the firewall was defective. Previously, recall 02v101000 concerning brake lines was issued. Consumer indicated that Ford performed recall repairs. However, the brake failure recurred.

Consumer complained about a brake problem. The brake line ruptured, causing the vehicle to crash into a tree. A recall was issued on this make, model and year. But the vehicle identification number was not included in the recall.

The brake pedal when it was depressed went to the floor and smoke started coming from under the van. This occurred while in park with the engine still running. Upon inspection of the vehicle by a mechanic, they noticed a pin hole in the brake line. There's a recall for the brake line 02v10100, which the dealership did inspect the van's brake line as indicated in the recall letter, but no problem was found at that time so the part wasn't replaced.

The brake fuild leaked into the wiring causing the vehilce controls to malfunction. Dealer has been contacted. Please provide any additional information.

While driving 10-15 mph and applying the brake, the pedal went down to the floor and vehicle had no brakes. A rupture in the brake line was the cause of the failure.

1998 Windstar brake line failure over catalytic converter similar to 1996 Ford Windstar recall 4/3/02 02v101000. Local mechanic with knowledge recall on 1996 Windstar contacted brockport Ford (closest dealer) for information on repair and if any special materials were available to repair. The mechanic was told there wansn't anything available. Throug my own research on your website after repair on 9/3/3, 1996 recall describes specific repair for the 1996. Are and Ford sure the same recall isn't necessary on other model years? under other conditions, our failure could have been devestating to my wife and 4 children!!!!.

The consumers vehicle experienced symptoms of recall 02v-101000 which was related to brake line corrosion. The vehicle was not included I the recall due to VIN. The vehicle was manufactured at the plant with the recall during that time.

Failure occurred in parking lot, able to stop using emergency brake. Hydraulic fluid leaked on exhaust manifold, fire prevented by diverting leak. Contacted Ford customer care oct 2002 who stated no recall on record and offered no repair despite my reference to your 02v101000 recall. I have digital pictures if you want. Repeated contacts with Ford get no resolution. Dealer listed on form was original purchase location and not involved. Dt.

While driving front brake line rubbed against vehicle's structure component, causing a hole to develop in line, and resulting in loss of brakes. Consumer stated brake fluid leaked onto catalytic converter.

Consumer states that while applying the brakes the pedal went to the floor and the consumer smelled smoke. The consumer took the vehicle to the local garage and they stated that the brake fluid had dripped onto catalytic converter and started a fire. The consumer put out the fire with an extinguisher.

Consumer's vehicle was experiencing the same problem with brake line as stated in recall 02 v 101 000, but this vehicle was not part of recall due to VIN.

Dealer made repairs for recall 02v101 for the front right brake lines, however consumer states that now the other brake lines are corroded, consumer feels all the brake lines should be included in the recall.

Brake line going to right front wheel corroded ,causing brake failure at 70 mph on interstate 85.

Nhtsa recall 02-v-101-000/ manufacturer's recall# 02s36; while driving 35-40mph and when applying brakes they failed to stop vehicle. This resulted in extended stopping distance. Vehicle was repaired before recall was issued. Please provide more information.

Hydraulic line rusted through, causing consumer to lose brakes. Consumer had to use emergency brakes to get home.

Brake pedal went to floor and no brakes in normal stop on dry pavement. Then brakes were fine. 2 wks later happened again so took to Ford. Ford replaced all brakes due to heat from slightly set emergency brake (warning light was burned out they said). Brakes to floor, but manuel brakes the next day. Ford drained brake lines. Happended again. Ford said you will have manuel brakes--it takes a while for new brakes to settle in. Kept happening-pedal to floor, manuel brakes, then normal braking. No improvement in 2 months so returned to Ford. Ford said no problem. On 12-22 rear ended a truck as brakes failed with no manuel brakes available. Ford says no problem. Ford engineer refuses to talk with me and sends the message that there is nothing that can cause that kind of problem. I don't know what to do.

Owner drove about a mile away from home, stepped on brake pedal, and it descended to the floor. Van lost all braking ability due to brake line rupturing. Ten minutes later, van was on fire due to brake fluid making contact with catalytic converter. Manufacturer stated that this vehicle was not part of recall 02v101000 due to VIN. While driving 25-35 mph the brake pedal went to the floor when depressed. The mechanic indicated that the brake line clamp rusted and caused a leak. . . . . .

The vehicle experienced brake failure due to the corrosion of the brake line. The consumer felt that it is unfair to address the recall to the northern states when the southerners have had the same failure. The consumer was parked in the driveway when he applied the brakes and the pedal went to the floor. When checked underneath the vehicle, fluid was running off of the catalytic converter. The consumer has spent each winter in two northern states and has experienced salt/snow roads on numerous occasions. The consumer requested reimbursement. Recall#02v101000.
