I just had my brakes serviced and my bushings changed, but my abs light still comes on. Also when I go to brake the car starts to shake and I'm going the speed limit. The engine has a rough idle, and shuts off when at a complete stop and when the vehicle is in motion. I've had many things replaced on the vehicle, such as purge valve, gas cap. Charcoal canister and fuel tank. In the engine the spark plugs were changed as well as the coil packs and the fuel injectors. Along with the camshaft sensor. Still getting p0455 and po0014. Won't pass smog can't register vehicle, but my only means of transportation. 2004 GMC Envoy xuv slt 4dr 2wd.
My vehicle when purchased was altered from cloth seats to leather by the dealership where purchased. 3 days ago my car is signaling me to service airbag while driving the car or in idle. So I immediately took it to a certified mechanic at meineke and was told that this is a manufacturer defect and there is a recall for this on my year, make & model SUV. I called gm on 11/29/2019 and was told by a supervisor named angel there has been no recalls by their manufacturer and there is nothing more she can do about the matter. I cannot drive my car like this knowing this can be potentially harmful and hazardous.

2006 GMC Envoy denali. Consumer writes in regards to dropped valve.
While driving on the highway at 65 mph, the third row floor got really hot and my children were saying their feet were really hot and we smelled something like plastic melting and my 15 year old cousins boot melted and the carpet melted and you can see metal. Once we arrived home the blinker stayed on and did not shut off until the battery died. Just before this happed the vehicle lost power and my husband had to put his foot on the gas all the way.
Misfire in cylinder car cut completely off in traffic it only happens when you accelerate like entering the ramp to the highway as you accelerate onto the highway car will misfire cutting off very dangerous situation.
Vehicle was stationary and in drive when it had a uncontrolled acceleration resulting in a collision with a garage where it was being parked. Extensive damage resulted to the home and vehicle. No injuries.

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 126,000.
While driving down the highway and or while coming to a stop the engine just shuts itself off without warning. Everything in the inside stays on, but you have to put the vehicle in park and re crank. This is an extreme safety hazard and needs to be looked into.
The vehicle shows that the fuel tank is on empty shortly after being filled up. Also the engine will die at randoms times driving down the road. Also the head lamps fail at random times.
Received a "check engine" light while driving the vehicle. The fault code that came up was po128 ( insufficient ambient temperature - ect ) upon researching the problem I discovered that this is a common fault on this vehicle. It is generally caused by a "sticking" coolant thermostat. This condition also results in poor heating poor heating of the passenger compartment. If this is such a common problem with vehicle as I have found. Gm should issue a recall and correct the problem at no expense to the owner!.
I am so sick of my 06 GMC Envoy xl. I truly give up. I had the stabilitrak and reduced engine light come on my car for five months. I have replaced the steering wheel sensor, the throttle body, and had the relearn the idle thing done, to no avail. This makes my fourth time going to the dealer, because I thought they could fix it. I have always bought gm. If god blesses me with another opportunity to buy a car, it will not be a gm. It throws my car off. I've had to pull over and start the car over a thousand times. I've seen many forums online about this problem, but there is no recall? I've even called gm. I still had to pay money. Resetting the computer has done absolutely nothing. Just wanted to rant, because besides giving me some of my money back (to the tune of a grand), what can I do?.
Car dies when driving, car wont start sometimes and hour or 2 later starts mechanic said alternator and battery are good, in parking lot and driving in the city.
Oil pressure sensor. I could drive a very short distance before the oil pressure would fall down to zero. The oil pressure warning light would come on and then stop engine.
The contact owns a 2007 GMC Envoy. While driving approximately 65 mph, there was a sudden loss of power and a warning indicator illuminated for limp mode. The vehicle drastically reduced speed to less than 35 mph. The contact had to slowly drive in the emergency lane. The vehicle was turned off and back on, but the limp mode failure continued. The contact was unable to drive over 35 mph. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who kept the vehicle for longer than two weeks. The dealer cleared multiple codes, but was unable to provide a solution. In addition, months later, the engine locked and failed to function. The vehicle was unable to be driven. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The VIN and failure mileage were not available.
Tl-the contact owns a 2003 GMC Envoy xl. The contact stated that while stationary, the engine light remained illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed that the fuel tank had fractured. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 155,000. Ad.
I was driving and my vehicle on I-985 hall county GA. My check gage light came on and less than 1/2 of a mile it start to smoke and burn as soon as I stopped turned of the ignition. It burnt to the ground from the engine area to the inside.
Just like all the others my 2006 GMC Envoy denali has a bad #7 lifter. Where are the recalls????? gm is getting away with ripping off the public and no one cares. Just bail them out and then let them rob all of us also???????????????.
The contact owned a 2004 GMC Envoy. While driving approximately 55 mph, white smoke emerged from the engine compartment. The contact had to pull over in a parking area and exited the vehicle. The vehicle burned to the ground. The police and fire department were present. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. There were no injuries. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Takata recall I have had to make many repairs on this vehicle. However, now the lifters in the engine collapsed. The vehicle only has about 87,000 miles on it. This is unacceptable. There have been many complaints about this vehicle and the lifters collapsing. We are a one income family and the repairs to this vehicle are astronomical. Well over 3500. 00 dollars. This vehicle is not drivable and has been sitting for a year now at my mechanics. The vehicle is of no use to me and has become a huge paper weight now. The worst part is I still owe on the vehicle too. Gm needs to take responsibility and do a recall on this vehicle for the afm lifters, or pay for the repairs to this vehicle. I will never buy another gm product again. Own up to your mistakes and take accountability for this problem. I am not the only one this has happened to. Very disappointed in this vehicle that is suppose to be american made!!!!!!! then you want to know why people are buying more foreign made cars. They seem to be more reliable than the gm products.
For more than a month my truck has cut off completely as I begin to break when I I am coming to a stop or when I am making a turn into a parking lot or at a corner. Sometimes it happens several times in a row during one trip. It always happens when I am in motion but once I turn on the hazard lights, put the car in park, turn off the ignition and restart it, it cranks right back up. I was told, based on my description that it could be a manufacturers defect in the turndown solenoid switch or sensor associated with the automatic transmission. This is a safety issue but I need my vehicle. This problem always occurs when I am on a city street. It has never happened on a highway/interstate when I am in perpetual motion. This is the only vehicle I have and I can't afford to leave it for more than a day at a shop, nor do I think I should shoulder all the responsibility for paying for repairs if it is a defect inherent in the vehicle. Please advise me as soon as possible if there is any recourse I can take against the manufacturer so I can have these needed repairs done immediately. I have already had the gear shift cable replaced about two months ago thinking that this was the problem. That was a $250 job with parts and labor.
While filling up my vehicle with gas at samsclub, it began leaking continuously from the tank. We replaced the filler neck hose, but it turns out the gas tank has a crack at the top. When you walk by, you could smell the fumes.
The contact owns a 2003 GMC Envoy. The contact stated that a strong fuel odor emitted inside and outside of the vehicle continuously. Additionally, the engine warning indicator illuminated whenever the vehicle was in operation. The contact received notification of the manufacturer customer satisfaction program related to the fuel tank inlet valve replacement. The remedy part needed to perform the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.
Vehicle was being driven on a two way highway at approximately 55 mph. Vehicle lost engine power while driving and the gas pedal lost resistance and went to the floor. Vehicle was steered over to the side of the road. While the vehicle was steered over to the side of the road, check engine and other dash lights started flashing chaotically. White smoke started coming from under the hood. Within a short time, white smoke turned into black smoke and then flames started to appears. The fire under the hood eventually continued to grow until it completely burned the engine compartment most of the first two rows of the interior before the firemen arrived and were able to put out the fire.
Vehicle loses power drastically when going up any incline. Was going 65 and speed dropped to 35 going up slight grade hill.
Envoy GMC 2006 power steering becomes difficult at low speeds. Must use two hands to turn wheel. Power steering fluid not the problem. Engine light inadvertently comes.
The contact owned a 2004 GMC Envoy. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was shaking and made an abnormal rattling sound before the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle was restarted and driven to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000. The VIN was unavailable.
When backing the vehicle to leave a local restaurant, driver struck vehicle behind her. This happened so quickly that it was unknown to the driver how the vehicle traveled so quickly that driver had not even had a chance to turn the steering wheel to avoid striking the other vehicle. Driver placed vehicle in drive to pull over to assess the damage. When placed into drive, the vehicle lurched forward and continued to accelerate despite the brakes being applied. The vehicle struck a brick restaurant. Damage was also done to the interior bathroom of the facility and the business had to close to assure safety of it's staff/customers. Witness states the vehicle was obviously lurching and appeared to have a mechanical problem. The driver's foot bounced off of the brake pedal on impact lodging it underneath the brake pedal. It was also noted that neither front airbags did deploy. Driver did not seek medical attention however driver's foot was badly bruised.
