Failure Date: 07/26/2011

I have a 2005 Envoy, today I was driving going the normal speed and got to a stop sign all a sudden the truck started reving up on its on and then would stop. Then I began to give it gas and to my surprise it did not have enough power to get up a hill. Minutes later the truck began to move as if nothing was wrong. I have onstar so I called for a diagnostic check, they stated that the cooling system needed to be checked , the antifreeze may be low and can effect the way the truck is performing. Well after going to the gas station to purchase the antifreeze then I start the truck and it begins to rev again on its own and suddenly I can not move. . . I had to have it towed to the dealer. . . . Is there a recall on this . . Im afraid to drive thi is dangerous. . . . I have young children. . . . . . Someone please advise. . . . . . I have never experienced this before. . . .

6 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2005 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 01/31/2011

On 1/31/2011 my 2005 GMC Envoy showed my gas was down to a quarter of a tank. I stopped to fill up before a snow storm came in and put 16 gallons of unleaded fuel into my tank. Immediately after my gas gauge went to empty and my gas light came on. It went up to a quarter of a tank and then went back down again. It is still showing empty, with the gas light on, and I know it has a full tank of gas.

7 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 09/10/2010

I purchased a 2004 GMC Envoy xuv and have several significant problems with this vehicle. After researching it seem others have had the same troubles. Since we owned the vehicle, the rear window is found down and noone was even in/near the vehicle. It continues to work but still will go down by itself. A year ago I had to replace the fuel tank, this was right after we took it in for inspection on a recall of smelling gas fumes while driving and possible corrosion in fuel lines. Of course the fuel lines were not corroded so we were told. I footed the bill $800+ to get a new fuel tank ,as neck on tank was cracked and was told that this is why we smelled gas. Luckily, I went to my garage and saved several hundred dollars from the dealers cost to repair. Last weekend 9/10/10 my family was driving to town and the middle window unexpectedly dropped and now does not work. I researched an it seems to be a regulator issue and will cost around $500, wow! over the last two weeks there is a rattle when we turn on our ac. Again after we were in for service as we had the ac charged at the start of summer. I can see where I have the same troubles as a lot of others and feel, the same as they do, left holding the bag by GMC and no way out but, to look for a new/used vehicle and get rid of this vehicle.

8 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 08/10/2010

I have a 2004 SUV XLT. I bought my car with 400 miles on it. I had the gas tank replaced early on. Went back to GMC b/c they had not installed it properly. I've had both front and rear sway bars replaced and both knock sensors replaced. My middle window decided to quit working and I haven't gotten it fixed because the guys at the GMC service center said they couldn't imagine what it could be and they would have to charge me $100 for a diagnosis!! my radio/cd player is only half lit up and stops working when it gets too hot from playing a cd. . . I am currently having issues with the fan clutch, thermostat and a leak in my front differential. Meanwhile the guys at the dealership wanted to charge me $1,500 to replace my knock sensors again and didn't even find the leak when they were "diagnosing" my issue. I truly do love my car, but I am super mad about the middle window and super mad about all of these issues. I take care of my car and do all of the routine maintenances. I think I know why it was only on the market for two years. Please help us get our middle windows fixed. I didn't do anything to cause it to stop working.

I then contact on-star they stated it was the cooling system and should be taken to the dealer on 10/19/09 I went and was told it was the temp senor which was replace that Tuesday. As I ws speaking to a tech they stated it sounds like the trans and the mgr approached and stated I am handling this and directed me toward the desk and stated he had a rental for me and arranged a ride for me. 10 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2005 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 11/20/2008

I have owned my 2005 Envoy xl since June of 2006. Once, I passed 36,000 miles, I started experience lots of issues with my vehicle. I started hearing a knocking noise in the rear when I would turn on the ac and the steering was off somewhat. I had the steering fixed for around $400 but the knocking was going to cost around the same amount. Less then 10,000 miles later, the knocking noise is more persistent and is related to issues with the fuel pump. My gas hand will move to empty when I fill the tank up and will not move forward for days at a time. Today, my kids are complaining about the ac not working in the second and third row seats. Everytime I turn the corner it seems as if there is another problem with my vehicle.

13 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 03/19/2008

Well lets just say after receiving the Envoy back from the dealer for replacing the gears in the transmission in which gm did not find to be at fault for not checking the transmission @ 31,000 miles when I had problems with it not shifting correctly. So over the next months following this my transmission went out @ 52000 miles, so gm had me pay a 500 deductible. Now my service engine light is on for the coolant system according to on-star, so back off to the delaership for not checking all the codes for the service engine light. I have already had to replace the fuel filter inside the gas tank, the gas tank neck, the battery @ 38,000 miles, and tires @ 28000 miles, brakes @ 38000 even when I asked the dealership to check the brakes and complained 3 times about the brakes. As I further investigated complaints regarding this vehicle, I found that the problems that I have had others have had reported to lemon law, nhsta, bbb. These items have happened from the start of purchasing this vehicle up until March of 2008.

14 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2003 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 11/01/2007

We bought this car used. Well before we bought it, they had the a/c fixed, due to it not working properly. Well the rear a/c and heat still do not work. Sometimes it comes on, and other times it does not. It does not give out heat at all in the rear. This is a real issue for us and many others with children. I have read plenty of other reports stating the same or very close. In all in all, this should be recalled and fixed. These cars are way to expensive to have this issue and not have GMC step up to the plate and fix their issue.

15 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2003 GMC Envoy

17 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 11/16/2004

1. Engine will shut off when making a hard turn: after stopped at a stop sign, I was trying to make a hard turn (steering wheel reached the maximum turning angle) when the engine suddenly shut off itself. It happened three times either tuning left or right (today), but always after stopping and with a hard turning angle. It is such a huge safety defect with all the cars infront and behind you. No repair action has been taken. The problem may be reproduced. 2. Turning signals not working after emergency lights used: it happened two times. Turning signal lights (left or right) will not work correctly after the emergency lights were in use; instead both left and right turning lights will flash at the same time. It can be reproduced. No repair action taken yet. 3. Difficult turning at a hard turn with 4-wheel-drive is it is almost impossible to make a hard turn when the 4-whell-drive is on. It happens every time. No repair action taken yet.

20 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 09/01/2004

Engine, check gadges light appears, SUV stalls, radio lights and steering lights keeps failing. I have taken my 04 Envoyxl into the dealership over 7 times for the same problem in which they have not yet been able to fix/resolve. My Envoyxl check engine and check gadges lights keep popping on and the vehicle continues to cut off/stall the dealership has not yet fixed the problem, I have taken the SUV in over 6 times for this problem. From 2004 until now 2007 the problem continues. The lights on the dash board keeps going out. They have replaced the lights at least 2 or 3 times but they keep going out. These lights are on the radio part, the buttons which operate the radio and switches the station. The panels seems to get very hot. The lights are currently out now after being replaced 3 times and now the vehicle is out of warranty. The paint on the SUV is very dull and the leather on the 2nd row seat is cracking, completely worn and very cheap. I complained to the dealership 1 year after I purchased the vehicle that the leather is worn out too fast, nothing was done about the 2nd row leather seats. The paint on the exterior is dull and spotty, I complained to the dealership before the 36,000 mile warranty expired and nothing was done about the paint either. This SUV is a lemon, it continues to cut off although many attempts has been made to repair the problem, I think they should buy this vehicle back since it can't be fixed. There is a defect in the electrical system since these lights on the instrument panel continues to wear out very fast and the radio had to be replaced already but the lights continues to blow out on the instrument panel and the steering wheel which also controls the radio and other components.
