Seven problems related to anti-lock brakes fail have been reported for the 1999 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Anti-lock brake computer failed at 67000 miles. The solid state device controlling the abs pump motor failed, locking the pump in a continuous running mode, even with ignition in the off position. Quoted repair is aproximately $1000.
The anti-lock brake system failed, which caused the vehicle to experience extended stopping distance.
Anti-lock brake system failed, resulting in loss of anti-skid control.

Major vibration at speeds over 60, also antilock brake failure or jumping --dealer was very receptive and still is but gm seems to be ignoring this problem.
When driving on a rough / bumpy pavement, the anti-lock braking system fails. It does not respond when the pedal is applied, but the vehicle will drive on smooth pavement, brakes work fine. Dealer has been contacted.
