1 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2003 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 07/15/2003

When at a stop, the vehicle vibrated and made noises. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times. The dealer said it was normal. The vehicle had a rough idle and made loud noises when air conditioner was on. When turned off, it made a louder noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer a total of five times since then.

2 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2000 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 01/01/2002

Consumer stated engine valve was knocking. As a result a loud noise came from the vehicle.

Failure Date: 09/01/2001

Extreme noise in engine for first 20-30 seconds at cold startup. Regional factory rep. States "perfectly normal" and is a known problem. No fix at this time.
