1 Abs Brake Fail problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2015

The contact owns a 2002 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would experience increased stopping distant when depressing the brake pedal. The contact indicated that the failure was intermittent and occurred on both wet and dry pavements. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the abs failed. The vehicle was not repaired. 2 Abs Brake Fail problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2013

2002 GMC Yukon suffered multiple brakeline failures due to corrosion. Rear brake lines running along the axle were originally replaced upon visual inspection. The rear main line from the abs modulator failed shortly after from a corrosion induced leak where the line passes over the fuel tank. The front lines were scheduled for replacement as a precaution but failed prior to repair where the line passes over the radiator brace. All brake lines and fuel lines show significant corrosion damage.

3 Abs Brake Fail problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2006

The contact owns a 2002 GMC Yukon xl. The contact stated that the abs was failing and the antilock braking pump continuously runs. He took the vehicle to the dealer and they informed him that the pad-circuit board was failing and caused the pump to run at high speeds. This could lead to overheat and a possible fire. The failure occurs after driving the vehicle at any speed. When the engine was shut off, it made a high pitched motor noise. He searched and discovered NHTSA campaign id number 05v379000 (service brakes, hydraulic:antilock). The recall only applies to certain states and his VIN was not included. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 79,000 and current mileage was 93,000. Updated 11/06/07.
