My 6 year old son and I were coming down the road and came up on 2 deer and I was coming up on a sharp curve and when I hit my brakes my steering wheel locked up completely and the steering wheel is so bent where I tried my best to control it but I failed and we hit a tree head on. Broke my nose and my sons leg broke in between the back seat air bag and door air bag.
Vehicle: 2021 GMC denali mileage: ~48,000 miles purchase price: $62,000 issue: airbags & crash sensors failed to deploy complaint text: I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2021 GMC denali. I was involved in a rear-end collision at approximately 45 mph, where I struck another vehicle straight on from behind. The impact was severe enough to total my vehicle, yet no airbags deployed, and no forward collision warning or crash sensor systems activated. This is especially concerning because this vehicle was previously involved in a front-end collision (not my fault) and underwent extensive repairs. I was assured all systems were repaired and functioning properly. Additionally, my vehicle had completed recall work related to safety systems prior to this crash. This is the second front-end crash involving this vehicle where airbags failed to deploy. Given the speed and severity of the impact, airbags should have deployed. The failure of these systems placed my life at serious risk. The vehicle has since been totaled and taken by insurance, but I am requesting that this failure be formally investigated as a potential safety defect in the airbag and sensor systems. I am extremely concerned that the vehicle’s safety systems were either defective or not properly restored following repairs and recalls.

“service safety restraint” light comes on and the dealership cannot pin point exactly what the issue is without taking the entire seat and air bag out. It’s come on 3 times. First time was linked to the overhead console needing replaced. Months later the light came on again and a seat harness connection was bad. It was replaced and light was off. 8 months later the light is back on again and they replaced the connection again and the light is off for now. This is a safety issue and should be a recall!.
Airbags did not deploy. A car run a red light. I hit it on its passenger side. I was going about 45mph before the crash. I did slam my breaks before impact but I would guess I was still going 30-35mph at impact. Car has not been inspected yet. It is still in our possession. We have made in insurance claim. No warning light of any kind were on before the crash.

I was read ended at a stop light. The other drive fell asleep. She was in a 3. 25 ton Dodge ram going 45-55 mph. She never touched her brakes. She pushed me into the car in front of me. Air bags never deployed . My car is totaled. The driver’s car hit so hard the front of her car was in my third row of seats. I was taken to the hospital for chest pains since the seatbelt was the only thing that saved me .
The passenger-side frontal airbag inflators, the determination was made that the propellant in these inflators may degrade after long-term exposure to high humidity and temperature cycling, which could cause the inflator to rupture during a deployment.

In these vehicles between two thousand and five and two thousand and seven are constantly, such as my vehicle, low oil pressure and lower rod bearing failure constant is which what I have and due to wiring cruise control becomes no good because of computer failure. I cannot afford to fix the lower rod bearings and notice that you have already a recall for trucks, twenty twenty one and up. But this problem has been ongoing from gm since twenty twenty five or more. I also took my vehicle in for an airbag recall. And after that, I still have an airbag light on after they fix the airbag recall. 0.
The contact owned a 2021 GMC Yukon xl. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the “service safety restraint device” warning light illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and the contact was informed that the air bag was not repaired correctly because there was electrical tape and packing foam inside the air bag housing. The air bag was replaced and the front driver seat belt was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000.
I was in a head-on collision (t-bone) going over 40 mph. Despite the severity of the collision no airbags deployed and both front seatbelts failed. Error codes: b0052:00 deployment commanded; b0015:04 driver seat belt buckle tensioner deployment loop open; b0022:04 passenger seat belt buckle tensioner deployment loop open. I have a police report but it exceeds the 10mb limit.

Noting that prior to this we only had one issue with transmission and we did the flush and it did fine for several thousand of miles. Fast forward to a few days ago. As I was driving down the highway I came to a stop at the red light. Once it was green and I pressed on the accelerator with my foot per usual. And it did not move it pushed the gas peddle and nothing at all happened. I was stuck in the highway could not move until I’m assuming the transmission finally shifted jarring my entire car and it allowed me to get to a safe place at 20 miles an hour max. Keep in mind I was in the middle of the highway not knowing what was happening. With my precious babies in the car. Thanking god we were not injured. This problem is so common and notorious among GMC Yukons 2017 year models. It’s saddening that now I have a car note on a car that will not go. Transmissions are back ordered who knows when I can have my car back this economy is horrible trying to stay afloat. And now we have a vehicle that won’t drive and no time forks of when it can drive. This needs to be addressed ASAP. Other people are dealing with the same things and GMC need to make this safety concern a thing of the past. Make a recall.

Dash is cracking badly on its own. Is cracking also where airbag is held. Pieces can fly as projectiles and cause bodily harm when airbag deploys.

The contact owned a 2007 GMC Yukon xl. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21v050000 (air bags) and would like to be removed from the recall distribution list. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted.
There are apparently a couple of faults affecting the srs and leading to a periodic airbag light and "service srs" warning. Gm has issued/revised a few service bulletins related to this warning. Some are related to software, some are related to overhead wiring, some are related to the clock spring in the steering wheel, and some are related to the driver's side airbag module. My understanding is that when the srs warning appears, all airbags are disabled and gm says we drive our vehicles at our own risk. To my knowledge this has affected several models of approximately 2021-2023 GMC (yukon and sierra) and Chevrolet (tahoe, suburban, silverado) suvs and trucks.
The brakes are hard to push to come to a stop. I brought it to a mechanic and he said it was my vacuum pump. The air bag light comes on when you hit a hard bump in the road.
Led tail light out.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon xl. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph, all the air bags independently deployed, except the driver's steering wheel air bag. The contact pulled over and had to cut all the side curtain air bags and the passenger’s side front air bag which were blocking the view of the road. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 178,000.

However, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The dealer informed him that if the dashboard cracked, repairs would be at his expense. The contact called another local dealer, cannon motors, llc, 100 n thacker lp. , oxford, ms 38655, who informed the contact about the dashboard possibly being cracked and the associated fees. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. Parts distribution disconnect. The failure mileage was approximately 156,000.

The issue is that we have to sign off on liability for the dealer to install the new safety airbag to state that we are accepting a cracked dashboard. This is ridiculous and the manufacturer (GMC) should have to replace the dashbboard along with the air bag.
The contact's son owned a 2012 GMC Yukon. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21v051000 (air bags) and requested to be removed from the recall distribution list as her son no longer owns the vehicle. The local dealer and manufacturer were contacted.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the failure could not duplicated. The vehicle was then taken to a second dealer, beck & masten Buick GMC south (12820 gulf fwy, houston, TX 77034), to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.
The SUV shown safety message, it was diagnosed with airbag not deployed. This is very important specially for the rear backseat. GMC doesn’t want to be responsible and makes customer pay.
My 2022 GMC Yukon denali has been at dealership multiple time for defective air ride suspension. The message says "service leveling system" once that show's it's a matter of time the vehicle will slump down. The passenger side air bag keeps busting creating a safety hazard for my family and others on the highway. When problem occurs the vehicle slumps down on front suspension and will bounce out of control when driving on highways and over bridges. It has now been in shop 4 times for the same problem. Dealership has been extremely helpful on trying to fix the problem, but there's definitely something serious going on and gm needs to look into making this right before someone get's hurt driving this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon xl. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the "service srs” message was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that there was a failure with the passenger safety restraint system; however, the remedy for the repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the vehicle was not repaired, and that the safety restraint system was reset. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 1,100.

While driving in a gravel driveway, the window curtain airbags and the middle console airbags deployed, with no collision what so ever causing injury to the driver and should you have a child this could have been very damaging as the airbags came out in all the way back through the vehicle. This incident was inspected by police and fire as onstar called them as it detected a collision, and without the vehicle being moved from the location the officer said there is nothing that should have caused the airbags to deploy, there is absolutely nothing here in this driveway that could have possible caused airbag deployment, the running boards go in and out, even when on the interstate constantly, and when backing up or going forward at times, and especially in a gravel driveway your automatic breaks will stop you abruptly, so fast that your seat belt will lock up on your and thrust you forward and backwards. The rear entertainment system will screen at times when turning it on will stay black and you have to keep turning it on and off to get a screen to show. No warning lamps or messaging with any of these cases.
