Service air bag light. A few months after I bought this vehicle the service air bag light started going on ocassionaly. Because it was so intermittant it could not be repaired. As soon as it was out of warranty it started staying on all the time and I was told at the dealer that the air bags weren't working so I had to pay $450 to get it repaired even though there had always been a problem since new. Vehicle now has 17,000 miles on it.

I love my truck. The only thing that is unsatisfying is my cracked dash from the left side to the right of the truck. The air bag light flashes due to the sides wall and dash board air bag is coming out. I would hate to hit a squirrel and it the air bag pops. I have one window that refuses to come down and last but not least, the dang cruise control only sets after 80mph. I hve to pray everyday not to get a speeding ticket in low speeding areas and the dash board with the sharp edges will not cause more injuries than the airbag if I'm ever in an accident. Please come to some type of agreement foe a recall to fix this matter. Pretty truck outside but the inside clean, crack, and broke up as is it was a fight inside. Help help help bring it back to life.

Last year I reported airbag light coming on while driving, and I read on GMC site as to what could happen if an accident should happen, they did inform me that once they received parts at the dealership they would contact me to repair, now they indicate they are not sure about the problem. My concern is someone in my car and an accident and the injury this could cause someone. I have called several times and I feel that I am being mislead on fixing the problem.

Takata recall. Recall issued in 2016 but as of 12/04/2017 there is still not a solution. I have an airbag indicator light currently on and am afraid that airbag will not inflate when needed or might inflate when not needed. Also, in unrelated issue the entire display on the dash has stopped working as well. I have searched web and I do see indications that there are active recalls for electrical however my dealer says there are not any electrical recalls for my vehicle.

My airbag light has come on and will not go off. There is an open recall on this vehicle but gm has offered no remedy.
Since 2010, my airbag light has come on 5 times. 3 out of the 5 times, I have had to replace a sensor which typically costs approx $400-450. The other two times, the dealership was able to reset. I am now in the position of having to spend another $450 for another new sensor in order to turn off the airbag light or else I cannot pass inspection. I have asked for assistance from gm and the dealership. But, because the light comes on just after one year of replacing a sensor, the work is no longer under dealership warranty. I have filed a case with gm asking for assistance so that I can get the car inspected and continue driving the car. They have said that they cannot assist. They have left me with very few options. I can pay another $450 in order for my car to be inspected, or not drive the car again. The air bag is an important safety feature. Based on all of the other complaints online, this problem is recurring and appears to be a manufacturer's defect. The disturbing thing about this issue is that I am not sure if the airbag actually is in working order.

While I was driving the stabilitrak off light flashed on the dashboard, including the traction control off. This has shut down my car on the highway several times since 2016. When I took it to the dealership, it would reset itself and the codes would go away temporarily. The dealership recommended to change the engine control module and cables. I had to get towed off the highway as this happens so randomly. The repair shop says that it is a mystery to them as they have called their GMC specialty technicians for advice. Finally, I went online and started a forum to see if anyone else is having these issues that no one can seem to fix. This is a known issue several similar stories car forums/ GMC/ GMC envoy xl". I am surprised this is not a recall and should be immediately. Changed sensors on tires that weren't the issue since the indicator light still comes on. I have pictures and videos of the indicator lights flashing and the car shutting off. I am not able to drive my truck as soon as it is turned on all othe lights are flashing stability link/ engine/ airbag/ brakes. It is ridiculous can someone please contact me. This problem is not only with me but several other who has done nothing wrong.
My dashboard has cracked on the left side of the airbag. My passenger airbag light stays on even when someone is sitting in the seat. My vehicle was parked in my driveway when I noticed there was an opening in the dashboard.

I find this is a safety issue with a factory part. Chevy-GMC should take care of this issue. It's all about safety! . Thank-you.

The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer (reedman toll auto world, 1700 east Lincoln hwy #101, langhorne, PA 19047) where it was diagnosed that an air bag sensor needed to be replaced. The chrome is also peeling on my door handles. Summer of 2015, I replaced the inside drivers door handle due to a broken bolt. Lastly my airbag light has been on with no diagnoses (~3 months).
While driving my vehicle lost power slid on brakes, air bag light and stability light came on and stayed on.
