I was driving my vehicle and exiting the hw. The rear wheel of the driver side broke off and separated from the car which caused my car to hit the cement beerier on front and the side of the driver side of the vehicle. Then the car turned 180 degrees and hit the beerier on the passenger side and the rear of the car. The air bags never deployed and we discovered that the wheel brook off of the rear axe. No damage to the wheel. Several industry exports stated that this should never happen.

I was traveling straight on ohio turnpike with my family when all of a sudden the truck tires started to feel weird. I tried to slow down a little by pumping my breaks, but the wheel gave a sharp pull to the left for no reason. I was traveling approx 60-70 mph when I felt a strong pull to the left hand side and my seat started to vibrate. I couldn't control the steering and informed everyone in the vehicle at that time that we were going to crash. I am positive that this defect in the steering/breaking system resulted in a major accident. If that's not bad enough, my air bags never deployed and I was injured as a result of the mva. 7 passengers wearing seatbelts. Vehicle totaled. Damaged guard rail. Submitted a defect claim right away. I've driven suvs since I was issued my license and never once have I ever felt out of control. It was like slow motion. I knew I was going to crash and there was nothin g I could do to stop it. I have since been awarded the ohio state troopers award for seat belt safety. I've requested an inspection of the vehicle. Only after the accident had it been brought to my attention that the right tire had recently been replaced. Vehicle has since been recalled. I'm certain something malfunctioned and that's why we crashed. We drove from MA to mn at the end of August to attend the state fair, the accident occurred after leaving mn on our way back home to MA. Accident was witnessed. I was not cited or issued a ticket. Not my fault. Just need someone who specializes in defects to confirm my allegations. Included in police report as well as motor vehicle insurance claim.

I was driving a 2018 GMC Yukon denali, braking/slowed to about 8 mph for traffic jam, when rear ended at approximately 55 mph by a 2000 Buick lesabre. Rear end collision launched my 2018 GMC Yukon denali, at approximately 45 mph into stopped vehicle ahead of me, a 2010 Jeep commander which was completely stopped in traffic. Jeep commander was propelled into 2015 Nissan xterra, also stopped in traffic. None of the airbags in my 2018 GMC Yukon denali deployed either in the rear end impact, nor the front impact of my vehicle hitting the Jeep commander. Accident was on Sunday, 04-21-2019 at approximately 01:30 pm mst. Skies were partly sunny and road had minimal wet area from earlier sun shower. Airbags should have deployed in both collisions, yet did not. I am extremely agitated about my airbags not deploying.
While entering parking lot of a walmart store, the front sensors did not show an object (while in blind area of windshield and door post). Driver hit concrete base of street light in parking lot going about 10 miles per hour in speed. Air bags did not deploy nor did seat belt tighten to restrain driver. Driver's body was thrown into the steering wheel with right arm taking the full impact. Driver suffers a broken sternum, torn bicep tendon, severely dislocated right shoulder, torn rotator cuff tendons, torn muscle fibers from elbow, broken wrist and torn tendons on back of hand.
Had an accident in 2018 air bags did not deploy and when tried to stop and pushed on my brake pedal, it was like it froze and I was still moving. I was driving 37mph on a city street when the accident happened.

On 01/23/2018 I got into an accident. The brakes when applied hesitated for a few then finally took hold but by that time it was to late and I ended up on someones lawn after crashing through their white picket fence, then rolling completely over on its top, totally the Yukon. My concern is the no airbags deployed at all. Thankfully, I only received minor scrapes and bruises. Plus, I am very sore still. I am concerned that this could of been a worse case, where I got seriously injured or even death because the airbags did not deploy upon impact. I have notified my insurance company to make sure there is a written paper trail pertaining to these issues with the Yukon. Specifically, the brakes not catching in time and the airbags not deploying. I would appreciate a response back to this matter as soon as you can. I also believe that the accident might not of resulted in totaling my vehicle if the brakes were working properly. When I applied brakes it felt like they were catching but seemed to take forever to stop soon enough, almost a hesitation on the brakes part. Plus, the airbags did not work either. So I need to know where I can file a claim pertaining to totaling my vehicle because of faulty brakes and airbags not deploying. This could of been a worse case! thank you.

I was rear ended at approximately 8:00 am this morning. Both my vehicle and the truck that hit me likely suffered damage that will result in them being totaled by the insurance companies. I have a major concern about my airbags not deploying. I have not yet read the police report, but the Dodge ram truck that hit me while I was stopped at a light hit my Yukon with great force. This was on a highway (204th street) in elkhorn, ne.

Initially traveling at 75 mph n/b on hwy 99 in fresno county, lost vision (medical incident), wife insisted I pull over. Struck guard rail on right side of road. Second try to pull over caused my vehicle to impact a verizon junction box and then150 feet of six-foot chain-link fencing with anti-climb guards that came off the fence and shattered the windshield. The air bags did not deploy. My insurance agent told me he was going to report this incident to you, but since I haven't heard anything from you folk I've assumed my agent did not follow through. My wife and I sustained only minor injuries from flying glass. We have photo's of the vehicle.
I have tried to submit my Yukon for tanaka recall remedy several times by contacting my local GMC dealership. Their service dept continues to tell me that they do not have parts available to modify my vehicle. A few years ago I broadsided a Lexus SUV which 'ran a traffic light'. My airbags did not deploy, while several of the airbags deployed in the Lexus. I felt that my life might have been at risk since the airbags did not deploy, or alternately, at even worst risk if they did explode upon deployment. Who is responsible for addressing this issue? the GMC dealer says they are not! I have photos of the accident and a police report stating that the lady was responsible for.
The contact owns a 2001 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the steering wheel became seized causing the vehicle to crash into an embankment. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a crushed pelvis in three areas, left leg and ankle nerve damage and dislocated right shoulder. The front passenger sustained a broken left leg and ankle, broken jaw and front and side teeth were knocked out which required medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.
The top cover of the dashboard has a crack on the hump above the instrument cluster and on the passenger side. I am concerned that this will affect the performance of the air bag. . . God forbid that the vehicle may be involved in an accident and the air bag does not deploy correctly. That could be the difference between life and death. The vehicle is a 2009 GMC Yukon, with all the technology and advances gm has made, I would assume that a safety issue of this degree would warrant a recall or immediate attention and responsibility from gm.
February 2014 I had noticed 3 cracks on my dash board, 2 of them being right by the passenger airbag. I have contacted gm to fix the issue before anything bad happens with the air bags. They want me to pay $900 to have this fixed but it is a safety issue. I am in constant worry if my air bags will deploy at any point in time due to the cracks. Or if I happen to get into an accident will my air bags not deploy or will there be a defect in the air bags due to plastic cutting the air bag open on deploy. Gm is very aware of this problem as I know 500 cases already with this same issue as they all have the same concern.
I started noticing a rattle when driving my 2009 GMC Yukon denali, but could not determine where it was coming from. Finally discovered that a crack had occurred in my passenger side dash above the air bag in the top left corner, and the rattle I was hearing was from the broken plastic. I have found numerous incidents online about this problem, so I know this is not unique to my vehicle and that GMC is aware of it but has chosen to ignore it. This manufacturing flaw leaves one to question how safe the passenger airbag is and whether or not it will work properly. I was involved in an accident in 2005 where my driver air bag module (not a gm vehicle) was knocked out of the steering wheel by a piece of iron coming through the windshield, and it never deployed. It would stand to reason that if the support area around the module is weakened by something like a crack, that the air bag may not deploy as designed, possibly sending the module or fragments of the module into the vehicle. We have been told that air bags are designed to protect us in an accident, but they can't protect us if they never deploy or if we are hit by flying module metal because of general motors design flaw that they have refused to take action on. My family has owned 6 different gm vehicles over the last 10 years, but their choice to ignore this potential fatal flaw has me looking elsewhere. I do not want myself or any of my family members to be one of the statistics that it is going to take to get this problem taken care of.
I first noticed a crack on the dash up by the passenger air bag area. Now it has cracked all on top where the speedometer and gas and tempreature panel is. I'm a person that takes great care of my vehicle and am worried that this can create a much bigger problem like failure in the readings on the instument panel or even in an event of an accident that if I have a passenger the air bag will not deploy. I hope that I may get some help with this. I would understand if I had been in an accident ,these things happen. But thank god I have not and so this is of some concern.

Traveling at night, at 65 miles an hour in a 2007 Yukon sle2 4 dr wagon, I hit a steer (approximately 880lbs). Upon impact, the bottom of my power driver's seat moved forward and the back of the seat tilted forward, causing me to hit the steering wheel. I had to move the seat back to get out of the vehicle. The airbags did not deploy. I reported the incident to the dealer, and my insurance agent both verbally and in writing. The vehicle had over $11,000. 00 worth of damage, but the repair center stated they were unable to find any damage to the seat. I traded the vehicle in, as I did not feel safe driving it with the seat not being replaced or repaired. The vehicle is now for sale again, and I am fearful that someone else will be in a wreck and the seat will malfunction again.
The contact owns a 2002 GMC Yukon. While driving approximately 55 mph, the contact crashed into another vehicle. His vehicle was completely destroyed and none of the air bags deployed. The driver sustained moderate bodily injuries. It has not yet been determined why the air bags failed to deploy. The contact has pictures of the failed incident and a copy of the police report. He filed a complaint with the manufacturer. The failure and current mileages were 107,000.

The contact owns a 2004 GMC Yukon xl. While driving 35 mph, a vehicle crashed into the side middle of the contact's vehicle. The vehicle rolled over and the air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The dealer stated that the air bags should have deployed. The driver sustained soft tissue injuries to her neck, shoulder, back, and legs. The driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The current and failure mileages were 41,500.
2007 GMC denali Yukon xl service air bags warning displayed intermittently after about 40k, after about 75k came on continuously. Dealer replaced a driver seat sensor, costing $ 400. He mentioned seat connector on harness to seat was broken and usually happens at a car wash or something else gets under the seat. Also mentioned while the warning message is displayed, airbags will or may not deploy and would be a danger to short people who have the seat fully forward. It sounds like a common problem that this dealer knows about. All gm cars that have this system should be recalled and fixed with a reliable connector.
