The service air bag light has been coming on and off in my vehicle. Was taken to the dealership in may and June and again in November. They have been unable to detect problem. Gm has spoke with myself and the dealership. Gm has told me that there is nothing they can do, if they can't duplicate the problem at the dealership. The problem is that is goes on and off at different times and there is no pattern to it. It didn't come on for 3 months and is now coming on again. I have contacted on-star when it comes on at times and they have informed me that the air bags may not deploy properly. I am worried that the air bags will go off when I'm just driving down the road. I have 2 children and do not feel that it is safe for them, myself, or the other drivers on the road. I am highly discouraged that gm is not being more active in trying to help with this situation that could result in injury or death!.

Smashed front end of vehicle equally on both sides (square impact) and caused contents from vehicle to come from far back to the front seats. Went from 45-0 mph in a few feet (almost flipped other SUV), yet air bags did not deploy. Force caused seatbelt to completely stretch out and lock in place permanently. (would not retract afterwards) all witnesses including police, tow truck, and insurance company say airbags should have deployed. The car is scheduled for repairs and we are terrified to get it back in repaired condition. We do not wish to endanger the lives of our family and gm is not replying. Dt.
